Consider my mind blown. Like....blown blown.....I'm not sure if I'm ok with that.....I mean....I guess I agreed to it when I clicked the video.....
Mother Nature is the best artist ❤
Buddy you aint kidding .....my eyes near blew out with joy❤❤❤❤
Such lovely Specimen! It's unfortunate that Minerials have become a RICH MAN'S venture, however it is a BUSINESS! We just always find it a shame that something that is provided by nature comes with great cost & sacrifice sometimes, from blood diamonds to $25,000 Thumbnails! Git Sum!❤
Thanks Dan for your great as always work my friend!🎉
Dan? Are you okay? It appeared that maybe you were a bit saddened that you couldn't lick any of them. 🤣 I could be wrong.. :)
I know, right? So many flavors!
at 7:33, it's an 'Eisenrose', German for "Iron rose", found in at the Gotthard mountain massif in Switzerland.
I’m from AZ and have buckets and buckets of chrysocolla just needing to be cleaned. Copper is easily my favorite metal
Merci pour la visite guidée. C'est toujours un plaisir t'écouter!
Incredible stuff..... What blows my mind is that here is yet another whole world of things available only to the uber rich.....by invitation, no less... Thanks to you Dan, for letting us in to see these things of exquisite beauty, because there's no other way I would have got to see them.... What a collection of specimens, with meteorites included.....
It's a gallery... You just walk in.
@@raymondbiskner6885it's a private Gallery, and Dan was invited to the downstairs part of the Gallery.... Try and keep up, will you
They have old labels from German collectors. Very cool!
Work harder and you too can be "uber rich".
@@bastifar1 like you own a superyacht....
If you go to Michigan copper hunting, make sure to go to the Seaman Mineral Museum. It is awesome. I have made a few trips to the Keweenaw and hunted the old mine dumps. They are disappearing fast.
If you are hunting copper in Michigan you will be in the Keweenaw peninsula area. If you go there, make sure to include the AE Seaman Mineral Museum of Michigan on your trip. It's right there in Houghton and it is world class in it's mineral specimins not only from Michigan but from around the world.
Cool, good to know. I’m on Lake Huron . I’ve been to Marquette but not up on that peninsula . Thunder Bay straight across is loaded with Amethyst. All along Lake Superior is awesome . Great specimens beach polished . Can’t wait for spring lol
@@MoosefromCanadaI went to school in the Keweenaw so I am very familiar with it and the copper deposits there. I plan to go around Lake Superior in the summer of 2025 and am looking forward to checking out the amethyst deposit up there.
Awesome, Dan! Those are truly world class specimens of the caliber one is only likely to encounter at the Tucson Gem Show. Pseudomorphs. This is where a crystal grows in it’s customary habit and due to a change in it’s environment “down there” an alteration takes place and the original mineral is replaced by another and retains the crystalline habit of the original. Azurite and malachite are both copper carbonates with the difference between them being an oxygen molecule or so. Azurite converts into malachite over time and exposure. Many famous artworks of antiquity used azurite as a pigment, and now show green skies and seas. Because geology.😕
Beautiful pieces, the colors. My Dad would have loved these displays.
A great amount of Minerals. Ok Dan lets go and find some of those, Thanks :)
WOW WOW WOW! I've been a rock and mineral hound since that other century :) Oh what a video this is!!! Thanks for the fantastic tour. Awesome :)
Thank you for taking us along on this adventure. These displays are astonishing. I would also like to know the history of this gallery and more about the collectors and curatorship. I think you are onto something when you show the label with the mineral displayed. Surely some of your viewers know German and give you the clues you might be missing. This episode is one of your best.👏👏👏👏👏‼
German here for the translations on the tags: piece 74215: Copper-gravel-crystal with pyrite ingrowth. from cavnic romania. piece 24012: cuprite-step on stone, octahedron one-piece crystal piece 56354: iron-rose from gotthard switzerland piece 39613: chalcotrichite in and on calcite piece 65429: chalcopyrite-step, blister copper piece 53560 (i think): iron rose piece 74832: quarz-crystal with orange dolomite-crystal, partly glaced on blue iridescent copper-gravel-crystal from romania hope this helps ✌
Dutch here with minimal german. But as it's the same alphabet and same scientific terms it's not that hard once you can got the feel for the difference in pronunciation. You missed Piece 87420 (08:15) Hematite Florence Mine - Egremont , Cumbria ( That's an Iron England. Last lines are the generally the location were the specimen was found. So piece piece 39613 Tsumb Namibia So in piece 74832 you misses the town. Although that's more a google exercise as the town has depending on the language a different name. Kapnikbánya is the mining town Kapnic in german or Cavnic in Englisch.
@@barthoving2053 i thought the easier ones didn't need explenation, so i let them for it. Also i was of the opinion that most people wouldnt need a translation for place/country if it was similar. Thank you for adding to it, but i left it out intentionaly. Not everything has to be a textbook.
Years ago I was in Glendora CA. There was a rock store that had a giant rock cut in half that was full amethist stones. It was fantastic. I don't know if the store is still there though. It was over 40 years ago. The memory of it still makes me happy 😊
Blue copper crystals have always been my favorite but I do love all forms of copper. Do go to Michigan for some native copper, I've gone myself and found it without even knowing that it was there (I was 13) . I also lived in Arizona and hunted rocks and minerals in just about every corner of the state. Arizona is a collector's dream. I grew up in New York and read many articles about Arizona in the Rock and Gem magazine of the 70's.
Pictures don't do the pieces there justice as I've had the pleasure of seeing them in person. Great video Dan.
I'm reviving a mine in Mohave County, Arizona. It has a lot of chalcanthite and I'm in love with some of the pieces I've been able to dig up. Which if you're a fan of blue crystals, I'd say Chalcanthite beats azurite.
Really. Cool. Good luck to you
Cool! 2 states I have never been yet. AZ and NM. Both rock hound heaven 💕 hope to visit soon 🇨🇦🫡
Hey..you do smithing too? Sweet .. my great grandpa was and my dad a machinist and welder.
@@MoosefromCanada I don't do much smithing or welding anymore. Fell more in love the making and refining the metals than just building and crafting with them. Copper quickly became one of my favorite metals to refine because the ores are absolutely beautiful and relatively easy to process.
@@mountaetnablacksmithing1693 Nice! I am an army vet. I rockhound and just putter around now because I can’t use my right arm .Nothing bad..just waiting for surgery …tick tock here in Canada 🤣🇨🇦. I should pack up the dog n camper and Pay…I hear AZ has great Orthopaedic surgeons 🤣🫡
I agree with you Dan, native copper is stunning. So pretty, I’m obsessed with it. Would love to see videos of you finding some someday. This was a copper lovers dream video Dan. ❤
How amazing to see some great pieces at the end from Namibia, where I am from. Tsumeb has some great copper deposits. Thanks for showing that off Dan! 🇳🇦
the beauty of natural crystals and mineral formations beats cut and polished stones for me any day, great upload
Thank you, Dan, for all you do to promote interest in geology and mineralogy.

Stunning display it's amazing what the universe produces. The blues copper produces have always stunned me same with the opals i know they are not the most valuable but to me they are the most beautiful to look at.
Dan thanks for all you do and showing us what mother nature has to offer us.
Glad to see you back in the Copper State!
Definitely mind blown. Gorgeous specimens. I love the greens and blues.
World class mineral displays are a battery charger for my soul. The incredible beauty is awe inspiring. Thank you for the tour Dan!
These are truly TOP-NOTCH specimens. WOW. Thank You for taking the time to share this with us all!!
Crystal collector was at the copper mine a year ago and found some nice specimens
Oh Dan... I'm flummoxed! My heart was just pounding while you were showing the displays! Such incredible beauty. Thank you!
The lable that was in German for the orange and white specimen says it is quartz malachite.
Thanks for the tour Dan ! ✌
Absolutely the coolest specimens of copper crystals I've seen. Thanks for showing them👍🏻
Malachite is my favourite, but I understand why you like the blue Azurite. These specimens under the Gallery are breathtaking.
so many wonderful specimens of copper crystals, salts, dendrites.... beautiful. Thanks for sharing with us.
I can’t imagine the hours to clean and prep those amazing minerals
Beautiful crystals! I especially liked the copper lattices which resembled feathers. Thank you!
Come up to the upper peninsula and you find some of the most beautiful native copper just laying on the ground. Amazing video 👍👍
That place is awesome! Thanks for taking us along
Dan, i'm sure you've heard of the lost Russian 'amber room', but, one of the palaces in St. Petersburg has the less known 'malachite room'... it was under renovation when i was there, but what was there was A M A Z I N G.
You should come check out the gems at the Del Mar Fair (San Diego Fair)! It's my favorite thing at the fair every year here! Soooo many awesome gems, minerals and fossils! The best collection I have seen. In fact, these look awfully familiar!
Dan, you'll like Michigan native copper. You can find it on the beach on the Keweenaw Peninsula. The mineral museum at Michigan Tech is awesome too. Lots to see.
8:28 I did a google translate on the German text: 'Quartz crystals with orange dolomite crystals partially covered in blue iridescent copper pyrite crystals.' Lovely stuff!
The one at 8:24 is "Quartz crystals with orange dolomite crystals partly covered on blue iridescent coppery crystals. Kalnikbanya, Romania" according to the Google machine.
Oh! .. that Azurite .. wow
Just imagining the feeling digging up something like these. Awesome stuff!
That was very interesting little display thanks for sharing.
Thank you Dan, that was without doubt the most impressive collection and video I've seen on KZhead . . . WOW 😲
I loved this special tour, so thank you, Dan, for bringing us along! You definitely re-earned my subscription, and I also shared you to somebody so will likely subscribe, too. 😊
Copper truly is one of the metals of all time
Thank you Dan for sharing natures beauty
Beautiful chrystals absolutely amazing !
They are all gorgeous
Hahaha ya got me, I was like "he didn't say bye" but I somehow knew you'd get it in there last second 😂
Awesome, thanks for taking us along.😮
That azurite specimen is probably in the running for worlds best. Ppl always talk about milpillas and tsumeb. I've never seen a specimen that's clear without being back-lit and has beautiful metallic luster as well. That's for sure a high 6 figure price tag.
Amazing and beautiful. 😊😊nature is amazing in all ways
Your OPS specimens need a gallery of their own!
The work that must have gone into cleaning these too😮
Well no secret my favorites are red garnets and the crystal blues you showed here are awesome examples thank you.dan
You manage to find some great background and incidental music for your videos.. I loved the organ & guitar based funky rock instrumentals (no pun intended 😂)
Just when I thought it was safe enough to pull my jaw back up off of the floor, where it hit from the first picture shown, you pulled out the "Favorites" and my chin's gonna be sore tomorrow. ❤😊
Wow, thanks Dan!
Straight up eye candy, amazying vid Dan! Thank you so much for showing us all
Dad garnet, that was awesome Dan!
Every single Dan Hurd video is exciting and interesting! This is amazing! And of course he’s in a private underground vault looking at minerals! 😂
Amazing Dan!

Stunning thanks for sharing very informative 😊
That was awesome haven't seen specimens like that before
My kids loved this one!!
New to your channel! Love your energy and enthusiasm! Plus your obvious knowledge, I will keep watching for sure!❤
It is wild to think that all those things exist and could be under your feet and you would never know. I am not surprised at the value of those specimens, they are all unique and collectors love them. What else would a rich person spend money on? I know I would be trying to buy these if I had the resources.
Thanks Dan
Good video, Talk about a nice rock collection|
Incredible collection. Good upload!✌

Beautiful Dan! Thank you for sharing.. I've been on the Butte Montana pit and bright blue to turquoise, green copper ore every where

8:28 In german it is Quartz crystals with orange dolomite crystals on top of blue irredescent cuperite crystals. From Romania ? maybe. :) great video.
