New way to make firewood stove - No smoke - Saving firewood
Пікірлер
As a union mason, id like to give a few pointers from experience. Id add chicken wire inside the clay crown, to stop the clay from cracking, because this will crack like crazy. One inch of clay, then a layer a chicken wire, then another inch of clay, then chicken wire, then another layer of clay. Id also throw straw in to the clay mixture to help alleviate the cracking. You want to keep the clay wet by misting it with a hose during the first couple months you use it, so it cures without cracking. You want to butter both head joints when laying the bricks, or the mortar doesn't properly bond to both bricks, only the one you buttered. Id also also make a table, 2 columns 4 block high, with a corbel slab bridging the 2 columns, and build this stove on top of it, so it is not on the ground. You could store your fire wood between the 2 columns under the slab. You could also make clay caps, for the door, stove pipe, and cooking grates, so you could get it nice and hot, plug the holes, and use it to bake, like you would a bread/pizza oven. Adding a damper in the pipe could also help get the stove to the right temp when cooking, and with a door you could slightly prop it open for a draft, or completely shut it down like an oven.

When you say "butter" do you mean the dairy product we use on our bread? What is the best pipe to use for the chimney?

Some good suggestions. But I must say that I've made a number of high clay content mud ovens and rocket stoves and have had little to no cracking without the need to use chicken wire. Depends mainly on how high the clay content of your soil is. And a little cracking is not a problem. Just kept it covered so too much sun didn't dry it too fast. No need to make it more complicated than necessary.
@ritamachia33543 жыл бұрын
@@ritamachia3354 Yea this one had 3 cracks already, if you watch the video you can see them. One is right in front of the first cooking area, that runs all the way through. Its pretty common for the clay to crack on ovens. The ones i make are usually fairly large sculptures, like the 6 foot tall statue of a naked pregnant woman sitting Indian style, that had one in the oven. The door was her stomach. It sat on top of a table that was veneered with river rock, and it was built with fire brick, clay, regular brick, then more clay, a lot more clay. It is over 10 foot tall in total. It was for a birthing mother.

Well done. Really I appreciate you and proud of you and your great technology. My mother used this type of wood burning stove in her 30 years of her life in Pakistan and she made this stove all with clay. We all family members enjoyed with fresh food and we all sit on the ground around this stove, specially in winter season. This stove is a great memory of my childhood. ❤❤

We did this in the Boy Scouts 50 years ago, but we dug it into the ground. It's called a Dakota Hole. Keeps the fire below ground and out of the wind and provides a path for air to feed the fire and a path to add fuel. They work great for cooking fires while camping.

They are called Dakota Fire Pits because they are dug into the ground. This is a stove, just because it works on the same principle doesn't mean its the same thing. This is a handmade ABOVE GROUND stove. It's obviously not a pit or a hole....

Yeah this type of stove is used all over the world, this looks a lot like Russian style stoves which also acted to heat the house in the winter. And hilariously stoves tend to be the one thing that tend to outlast the actual house in many cases, they took a lot of time to make so when they made them they did it once and did it right.

A magnificent work of art, artistic craftsmanship, a practical sculpture, a tribute to mother earth and the creator! Imagine, this was the primary tool of the house, be it a grass hut or log cabin, and the family-center of nourishment for the heart, body and soul. This tool was the fabric that held the family together at meals and for warmth. It was a conversation enhancer as tending a fire induces relaxed conversation and the sight of controlled smoke-less flame led us into calm & tranquility.

I must say I have never such an amazing fire hearth. Love the Rose! Keep on Keeping on Brother!
@@lavonageorge7274 he means buttering the mortar onto the ends of the bricks, i think
I was thinking straw mixed in.

Absolutely 💯 I'm glad i had experienced alot's of great memories of my childhood with my family 👪 and relatives as well. I wish i can go back in time where 🤔 everything use to be all natural and enjoyable and be worried free. When I was holidaying in Cuba about 12 years ago; I saw something similar to that. We stopped in at a farm and the farmer’s wife was using it to cook their meals on. They had a gas stove; but they hadn’t a gas (propane) delivery for over 4 months! So the farmer built it for his wife to cook on!
thank you
@@cementdiyideas4789 nice!!! Where r u from?,,,, I am from WB
We did this in the Boy Scouts 50 years ago, but we dug it into the ground. It's called a Dakota Hole. Keeps the fire below ground and out of the wind and provides a path for air to feed the fire and a path to add fuel. They work great for cooking fires while camping.
I thought that was what I was seeing.
They are called Dakota Fire Pits because they are dug into the ground. This is a stove, just because it works on the same principle doesn't mean its the same thing. This is a handmade ABOVE GROUND stove. It's obviously not a pit or a hole....
@@joeleonelli3729 Thanks Mr. Obvious. I never made the connection . That said, Dakota Hole referred to what we used to dig into the ground.
Your absolutely right. Didn't mean to insult you. Apologies....

@@cementdiyideas4789 Nice video. Great music to match the craftsman.
How clean? Как чистить от золы легче, не продумано
Thanks for the video, those are from ancient prehispánico techniques, About 15 years ago I was looking to buy a property here in Veracruz México, so we went to see this very old construction in the ruins of an old "Hacienda" and in some part of the patio all in ruins it was this same kind of stove but built for three burners, the whole property was in ruins but the stove was almost intacted despite the years has passed over it.
Yeah this type of stove is used all over the world, this looks a lot like Russian style stoves which also acted to heat the house in the winter. And hilariously stoves tend to be the one thing that tend to outlast the actual house in many cases, they took a lot of time to make so when they made them they did it once and did it right.

Да, только замесы надо делать из глины. Она жаропрочная.
This is not a new way. It is an ancient technique and it is still being used in India. I am Proud about India, Indian culture and Indians
Here in the USA indian tribes such as the Apache have used this smokeless fire technique. They just didn't use cement. Lol.

А чистить как
It seems to me that it would be difficult to clean out the ash without a trap door or something on the long end of it. I like this a lot though. Making the openings perfect for the cookware is really key to keeping the cooking area smoke free. Nice.
Just wondering though, isn't that just heat that goes on the long end of it? No wood in that area? @10:46

This video is so satisfying to watch. :) Adding a capped ash clean-out on one or both the ends might make it easier to clean.
