This car has been sitting on marketplace for a very long time! Dude knew what was wrong with the car. Probably why it hasn't sold after months of being listed.
There's like at least 5 more people that went and did the exact same thing as the bois, and were just like "fuck it lol". Also the dude saying "all the other ones' interiors are shot", yeah rather get a clean M5 E60 with a nice interior, than one with scuffs and a worn out interior, but a perfectly working V10 🤦...this ain't an E30, buddy 💀

6500-7000 wouldn’t of been horrible. If motor work approx 7k and would have been worth at least 20 after.
In germany cost a decent e60 m5 between 20-25k 🤷🏻♂️

These e60 m5 don't ever have "one simple issue" 😂 I haven't finished watching the video but the hood scoop and 27 M stickers of every flavor are not a good sign.
yes this is the sign of a car that has been pumped of every miles so if you're buying a car that looks like it's been owned by Flavor Flav don't buy it.
BMW are the most overrated car manufacturer ever. Over time they have won basically nothing in the majority of motor sports. Unreliable overpriced crap bought by narcissists who want to present an image basically.

Breh. I have sunk 8K into a 2013 328xi. Why? Why? I could've just bought a better car in better shape. I'm an idiot, I know. But just a compressor and a couple of motor switches in the side view mirror and I'll have a brand new car with 100,000 miles. :)

As someone who has worked on one, I know they have some bad issues. But for how low mileage that is and the interior being rare and individual, id get it l. I love the paint code, and the white interior is amazing condition
It would need a whole new engine, and like he said, that's already 10k, and you'd be in the car about 15. Not to mention any maintenance which could put u at 18-19; it's just simply not worth it when you could find a perfect one for a little bit more

bro, firstly for test compression you have to remove ALL the plus and after to do the test

what will never stop to amaze me is the amount of extras etc you can get in a e60, and all those that you like you can even get in a e60 520d :P The interior in this one is the ventilated comfort interior . ( an option for all e60s , but stock in m5 ) funny part tho is the Cup holders in the dash is extra and if not ordered car will come with a dash without slots for cupholders ..
It was an option even on the M5, saw a lot of them with the stock seats (backrest not split in 2). The spec of this car is incredible tho, even 8k is a good price for it.

Ironically I looked at this car as well. Figured it needed rod bearings at the very least after looking at the price. Listing has changed a couple times at this point
Rod bearings are overrated. A new set of Pilot Sport tires costs about $1600 mounted and balanced and lasts 23k miles if you drive gently. A complete rod bearing kit with bolts, washers, gaskets, vanos line, hardware, etc. is $839 from FCF Euro. Buy a torque wrench, tools, and some throttle actuator gears, have the injectors serviced, and it is less than a set of tires if you do the work. I have owned my 2007 e64 M6 since new, 67k miles.

Did you try pouring some atf in that cylinder? Worst case it is dead, but it's likely the cars sat way to long and the rings need re seated. See this all the time on m54b30 engines that sat and are prepared for a new home 0 compression on one or two, then pour some atf, let it set, crank it out, and re test.
You actually never get scammed, you do the scamming yourself, but being blinded by the excitement of a vehicle you really want is real, I always go into a deal with a pessimistic view, I'm looking really hard for the negative to keep myself from buying a nightmare, 99.9 percent of the time my first instincts are correct you just have to be weary even of yourself.

That is a pre-LCI M5 (06-07) but has all the options. that hood is sus, not only does it look bad but why would you cut a hole in a perfectly good hood and then for the hole to go to nothing, wtf?!?! I am guessing there was an accident at some point. the major issues with these are the rod bearings, vanos pump, throttle actuators and the SMG pump. if those are sorted then its actually a very good car. I had an 08 manual and it had very few problems but wasnt practical for me at the time and had to sell. I miss the heck out of that car though. I'd buy again if I could...
Couldn't agree more! ALL the induction is designed to come in from the front of the car - a hole in the hood (bonnet here in the UK) achieves absolutely nothing! Whoever thought that was a good idea hasn't got a clue about cars. It's like that VW advert when the car's crying because the owner modded it and it looked sh*te! 😡😡

Sensible to walk away from the M5. I reckon you’d have found lots more problems when you cracked open that engine! And certain parts on that complicated V10 are not cheap… Rod bearings are also very common problem on 90K mileage engines so you might have needed to do both bottom and top ends. The current owner got scammed buying a nice looking interior after a $100 valet to hide a broken $10K engine 😂
Mate you can hear it has compression plus pulling one or two coil pack it will run on 8 silinder just fit all 10 spark plugs and pull just the main wiring plug they have wiring harness fault

I don't think you can get proper compression readings like that with the car running and fuel still being enabled and that gauge is not sealing properly in the cylinder
I wouldn't mess with this motor. Might aswell get an M113k if you want old school German power

I had one of those when they where new and can confirm they are a complete heap. Mine had two warranty engines in 23,000 miles and a load of other warranty bits. However it was one of the best driving cars I’ve ever had and the sound of it put a smile on your face every time
How did you went through two engine? Mine is still on the original engine with 172,000 miles? Maybe you don’t know how to operate a f1 engine

Years ago I bought an M5 with 40k miles first the clutch went out then a month or two after the whole tranny gave out and all the shops at the time wanted around 12k to replace it But for the short time I had it for it was a chill car lol

Cylinder deactivation doesnt turn off a whole bank it cuts fuel/spark to 5 cylinders both bank 1 and 2 bank 1 is passenger side bank 2 is driver side rebuilding a s85 is not an easy job

broski 4k for it? ahaha, even with blown motor its worth 8k easily, just because of interior and body condition and clean title...we both know that for 4k you will not even find e46m3 or e60m5 with completely locked motor..its funny when you came maybe on cheapest priced m5 e60 in usa guy was patient and let u even do compression test in the rain and you was about to insult him with this? remember when u bought blue flooded 435i for 5g and sold for 20+..imagine someone will come and offer you 6-7k and say to you : you just replaced battery, why i need to pay 20k more..im surprised nobody bought this e60 yet, its worth 8k on private sell with clean title all day long

e60 seller is just waiting for a dumb buyer to come along and not do engine checks. he 100% knew it had 0 compression, and he 100% knew it needed a new motor you could even hear the fake tone in his voice when he got hit with the news. terrible guy

I think it is the Vanos system connecting rod bearings, this is common and is usually replaced preventively on the E60 M5
how can that have a connection with the cylinder 2 having ZERO 0 compression ???? that engine has a bent valve or a cracked piston

Don't see the video, but i think its rods and vanos, and smg and clutch and crankshaft, my friend bought a few years ago with same milage, it costs ennourmous money just to fix few issues)) And still need some fixes xD 5 years ago when i decide to buy old bmw M, i select e46 m3, becouse it was less expansive than m5 and also much lighter. Now i understand that i was wrong, any old bmw M is f****** expansive xD
