Amanda's vibrato is so reminiscent of 1950s Disney princesses and I'm here for it. It's so interesting and somehow natural-sounding

Mean Girls was her first ever movie and she made it so iconic. That was a sign she was going places and she did and she’s still going.
Her feeling like she needed to apologize for her "weak" voice in Les Mis makes me sad. I know she has been bullied by fans of the stage musical as the whole cast of the movie has been, but I think she did a great job. Her singing was emotional and effective, and cinematic. That was the point of having live singing in the movie. So that you feel what the actors are feelings rather than just being impressed by their vocal acrobatics.
I kind of think it's great that she acknowledges her voice was not where it could and maybe should have been.
i’m so happy that both Amanda and Megan are so proud of jennifer’s body, because at the time the movie was very hated and now the movie is a cult classic and heavily loved. i’m glad they can finally see the love from a movie they both loved doing!

That was just a theory, everything actually points to Sam but they actually decided to keep a mistery and have people decide.
When I saw the movie when it came out as a kid I felt bill was her dad especially since they looked more similar

@@benjjjjsin that wasn't a deleted scene. Bills aunt took care of Donna and Donna named her after his aunt but it was the only indication. If you really look at it, in my point of view, it's Sam. In my almost 15 years watching this movie, I saw the direct connection Sophie has to Sam - same talent for drawing, same expressions, same temperament, the dates match by Donna's diary.
@@xthefordx The Name of the Game was a deleted scene. It’s not in the theatrical cut. At the end of the scene, he says he is Sophie’s father. It makes sense - she looks like him and shares the same spunky personality. No other dad had a song + scene with her in that way, so it makes sense they deleted it to keep the ambiguity going
she’s so dedicated to her acting, it’s a huge passion for her and it’s wonderful to see. I love how she has had many truly iconic roles and she’s proud of them, she’s not “over them” just because she’s now oscar nominated she loved every one whether it was indie or huge budget. I love her. I wish they did Dear John and also just saw a new movie with her in it were she looks for her missing sister. That was really good, and then "Time" with Amanda and justin Timberlake is really good. I think it was called time or out of time not sure. But I loved her in all these movies too.

Her range is incredible. She steals scenes in a comedy like Mean Girls but also was so nuanced in portraying a dramatic role like the Dropout.
This is the type of acting I absolute love and why people like Amanda are so iconic is because she talks like she’s really lived the lives of all her characters and has thought a lot about how she wants to be and portray all her characters. It’s really inspiring

Not sure but I think I remember an interview saying how each one auditioned for another role. Amanda as Regina, Lacey as Cady, Rachel as Gretchen, and Lindsay as Karen. Or something like that.

I think media gave us a very bad perception of age. I'm 37 and my friend and I look similar to our 20's just a little bit more mature but no massive wrinkles and gray hair 😅

I loved hearing her talk about the realities of an actor playing a real person who made morally wrong choices. Needing to be able to find empathy and compassion for them, even temporarily so you can try to embody and understand their character..and the emotional journey of their wrongdoings catching up with you internally.. I find the sort of mental gymnastics that actors have to do fascinating. And also sad sometimes, I know actors have definitely crossed their own emotional wires and had to completely stop production for hours because they were carrying immense traumatic emotions of a character, of a life that wasn't theirs and needing to just process that..

It's what killed great actors like Heath Ledger. The toll the brain takes on the body even if you're acting, and acting with conviction, the more effects it has on your body. Hugh Laurie for the longest time talked about how playing House caused him to have a limp once the cameras started rolling because it became second nature.
She is so well spoken, so gentle, so intelligent and caring. She deserves ALL the hype.

I loved this interview, but she’s so self critical it makes me sad 🥺. There’s definitely a fine line between being humble and too self critical, so I do hope she acknowledges how amazing she is as well, especially with her singing. She has the voice of an angel.
It's similar to me when I write or other things I delve in, because I'm so passionate about the things I do and I want them to be/look it's best. I can be my own harsh critic. It's instilled within us all. It just shows that you're passionate about your craft.

I am and have always been obsessed with Mama Mia, and nobody could have played Sophie quite like Amanda. I was blown away by how beautiful she is. She’s a phenomenal actress and she’s played so many iconic roles!❤️

Love the expression she has as an actress. Even in Le Miserable, she overperformed to what she herself claimed. I really can't stand musicals, but it was surprisingly good singing, can't deny that. Ms Seyfried seems so much more calm and based in the interview compared to the characters I've seen her play. Also, in my memory she came up during the nineties, when series and movies with beautiful young people exploded onto screens, but looking back now it was way later. Still, a very long career with some great performances.

Wow this is such an honest reflection on her Les Mis experience, I was such a hardcore theatre kid at the time I remember feeling mad watching parts of that movie wishing the vocals were cleaner but looking back it felt more authentic and real, and they leaned into the camp and absurdity a bit. Anyways big kudos, she’s really matured and would love to see her do another big musical (I know she’s working on something now..)
I remember seeing her in promos for Les Mis and constantly talking down on her vocal performance. She seemed really embarrassed and was vocal in wishing she could redo it even back then. :(

What a refreshingly honest person she is, being able to look at something and process that she would have done something differently, that something else wasn't where she wanted to put her energy, to reflect on her complicated feels of compassion and anger. She just brings a great maturity to her acting and her life.
I always loved Amanda's roles. The Dropout once again proved her talent without leaving anyone disappointed. She's got such an excellent resume in her belt.

amanda seyfried is literally one of my biggest inspirations. i've been lucky enough to actually play not one but TWO of her roles onstage (karen in the nyc premiere of mean girls jr. and cosette in les mis) in the past year. i genuinely believe that she is one of the best actresses of our time.
She's gained knowledge, and the craft to get into character and study them is such mindful. I love her, and I've grown watching her screenings.

There was a clip of Amanda singing Popular recently and she sounded incredible, I can definitely see why she would want to redo Les Miz cause she was indeed pretty weak for the role's requirement (even though once your mind is able to just accept her for the role, you could definitely appreciate her angelic voice).
She auditioned for Glinda in the Wicked film adaption, and spoke about how hard she’s worked on getting her vocals up to par. Not that she wasn’t amazing before, but where she personally felt comfortable in her vocal ability enough to possibly portray Glinda. The good part is that she said she now feels vocally ready for more musicals in the future, and is reportedly working on a Thelma & Louise musical with Evan Rachel Wood.
Sideways does a great analysis called “Why the Music in Les Misérables sounds Worse than you Think,” or something like that. Much of what was going on backstage, as far as direction, stressed the actors’ voices. I think Amanda sounds amazing in the movie, but it was eye opening to hear more of the process going on.
She’s an underrated ICON & doesn’t get enough recognition.
