Lots of hard work on this mci 5 vintage rv conversion. The jake brakes sound awesome. We almost T boned a car running a red light on the test drive
Wasn’t that crazy when the lady ran the red light and nearly got T-Boned by the bus?
Scott, that red light runner was a close call but once again you've made an RV bus safe, reliable and efficient! Thanks for who you are!
@BusGreaseMonkey was the reason we got into old coaches. Originally we found BGMs posts when I was showing my son, Vaughan (the guy with the rock and roll hair) videos about 2 stroke Detroit diesels as I rode in them in semis with my dad as a kid. At the same time I had an early 2000s class A pusher that was falling apart and I soon sold it for about 1/4 of what I had into it. After watching BGMs videos I decided to get an old converted bus. This is the very bus I found locally and these videos helped me find a good one near me. My wife and I love this bus. From the time I purchased it, I knew that I'd bring it to Scott to go over it as I'm reasonably mechanically inclined, but I had never worked on anything such as this. It turned into a father / son trip / learning experience that I'll never forget. Thank you @BusGreaseMonkey and family.
Can we all take a moment to admire that man's awesome rock n' roll hair?
Yeah, sort of reminds me of, John Fogerty of CCR.
@@1954shadow ccr memories great band!!!
I hit the brakes under the desk!!!!! And leaned forward. That is the quietest Bus you've ever videoed in. The expansion joint was almost non-existent! He is an excellent driver- excellent.
Love those out-of-sync air-powered wipers. Reminds me of a lot of hours riding busses with those as a kid!
That torque sequence was challenging 💪☮️
Always expect the unexpected. Words to live by.
Yes..one effin thing after another..
The rocks in the tire tread were fouling up Scott's diagnostic ear. One of the reasons he is so good. His professionalism would not allow it to slide until he could confirm and he he still had 2 or 3 more possible noise sources in mind.
Love how the spray foam on the doors pick up the woodgrain looks good
You guys could really use a torque multiplier sometimes...if there is space enough they are really useful.
Thank you bus grease monkey/ family / friends for posting all of the great videos on your KZhead channel. Nothing better than the all the products built to last for generations. United we stand divided we fall !!!
They only had three colours Officer, so I picked the one I liked the most.
Success GM.....helping every bus. 🎉
That wiper on the drinker side acts like it's a cocaine problem .
keep the clips coming
Great fun ! I lost track of how many times I replaced radius rod bushings on both mci and Eagles
Great video thank you for getting those brakes working good and just a suggestion for that air operated wiper try a few drops of air tool oil and see what happens oh my old timers kicked in I forgot to say the oil goes into the wiper motor at the air inlet. My suggestion for what it's worth.
Where I live in Louisiana, people think a red light is just a suggestion….
You outta try California once haha. Lotta goofballs out here!
Some vehicles don't seem to come with turning lights anymore either
Learn and always practice the Smith System, five keys. to safe driving. Drove well over a million accident free miles for the Hound. I knew drivers that loged several million safely. It works in form for real.
Hey ,lookin at them radius rod bushings ,they look simaler in size to Chalmers suspension bushings ,if so the make a 2 piece poly bushing that makes servicing easyer
I have a Detroit 871 and transaxle that came out of a 70,s buss
Im guessing a gm bus because the way you say transaxle
@BusGreaseMonkey yes sir a mid 60s was converted by a outfit in Chicago
Also have the vdrive
An old joke: A co-worker of mine told me of how his brother, never, stops for stop lights. One day, I went with that co-worker in their car to go to lunch. We came to a green stop light and they, stopped. I said, “what are you stopping for, you have the green light!” My co-worker said, “yeah, but, my brother may be coming the opposite direction!”
As usual not apprised that they made it home safely Thanks Scott and the rest of the crew Good luck and all the best
We made it back to Texas (800 miles) just fine. Drove great.
I'm not sure you ever really said anything but what happened to your son being in the videos?
Not being one of them folks but a adjustable wrench works best one way ,simmaler to pipe wrenches and channel lock pliers😂
One end of the wrench is adjustable. That’s the end we used. ;)
It's cheaper than going to the gym
This gym pays you for the workout, lol
What's with the wacky right wiper. Faster than left wiper and looked like it's wasn't wiping on the first test drive?
them wipers been drinking all weekend or what
Have you thought about getting some of those Porta powers like the jaws of life like the paramedics and rescue fire department people have would Pollos arms off real easy
Comedy wipers
You might wanna try electric wipers too. I had them on my MCI 9, world of difference
A $1,000 upgrade, rainx is much better
Might work for some. Last night I drove a 250 mile trip in a downpour, I'm very grateful I was driving a bus with reliable wipers and didn't have to rely on rainx
I'm used to them.. honestly doesn't bother me. I could have slowed down the passenger side, just didn't think of it.
@@frankchodacki6269 I guess it's one of those things that once you get used to it it doesn't bother anymore. Safe travels!!!!
Guy with the long hair looks like Bill Paxton ,,No way maaan,,,
Electric regen isn't quite as noisy, thank Darwin.
They don’t make it easy to replace any thing.do they..Scott..
Did I hear a fart?
Red lites are overrated
Those wipers tho
I know right...they distracted me that entire test drive.
You get used to them believe it or not.
Use the german torque wrench. Goodentight
The windshield wipers are not in sequence. It’s probably a personal problem for me. 😂
They each have there own switch.
Air flow control knob even more delicate than a switch
It was bothering me too.
Imagine the potential dude. You could micro adjust the air flow so that it perfectly stays in sync. Dont worry, just keep adjusting, you'll get it.
I was wondering how the wiper system worked on this bus to.
Rosebud….
Woman drivers no survivors.
Why not using /making a very beefy extension rod/pipe so you can torque the bolts from outside of the wheel arch instead of trying to morf yourself in there and being bearly strong enough because it is a log reach with your arm?
They tried it in the video. They couldn’t safely hold it
@@BusGreaseMonkey Sorry, missed that part....
