  • What's your favorite aspect of Dimash's incredible voice?

    @PeterBarber@PeterBarber Жыл бұрын
    • My favorite aspect has to be his control at every point in his vocal range. It's unbelievable how easy he makes it all seem whether he's down at the bottom of his register or letting those 6th octave notes fly.

      @tonyfrance4100@tonyfrance4100 Жыл бұрын
    • The way he uses it to convey the emotion of the song. His high note, his low notes, and the tones of his voice are a tool toward that end.

      @lauriegoodson@lauriegoodson Жыл бұрын
    • His high head voice is what I find most spectacular, and it is *loud* - he lowers his mic in arena concerts and makes himself heard! But I may just prefer him around tenor high C, and I'd like to hear him do more pure tenor stuff. Thanks for taking the time to analyse this performance btw. Very interesting.

    • There is something mystical about his voice when he sings in his native language. When he's in his lower register, I feel like I'm being hugged. When he's in his super head voice, my heart breaks at the crystalline beauty of the notes. Those get me completely emotional. I personally don't have a preference. Different voices for different moods. I mean, we just heard another facet in 'The Story of one Sky' which took many reactors (and Dears) by pleasant surprise and gave me another Dimash voice for another mood. Thanks for a wonderful analysis Peter. Greetings from South Africa.

    • His ability to control every freaking breath into his songs. Every tone, pitch, and volume is intentional. What I love about this performance is it shows he doesn't need all the stage gimmicks. He can control an audience with a room and a microphone. Always love your reactions, and find myself smiling till my cheeks hurt because of the joy you exude. Music, the language of heaven.

  • This is the first time Dimash sings in Japanese, so I think his look is at how to pronounce those lyrics rather than the music! He knows the music really well since he usually sings this song in Mandarin (the meaning of the lyrics in Mandarin is a different song altogether, (it’s called Autumn Strong, whereas this song is called Please Don’t Go), even though the music is the same) Even though this is in a studio setting, it is broadcast on a livestream to the Tokyo Jazz Festival. It’s because of COVID that the artists all had to livestream to the event. Dimash also did the same in 2020, when he live streamed his songs Samaltau and SOS to the Tokyo Jazz festival.

  • Dimash's latest music video The Story Of One Sky should be on the list of your next reactions. At first, there is Dimash as we know him, but then he does something that no one had ever heard from him so far. Also, the story of the music video is heartwrenching, and the whole message of this massive opus is deep and meaningful. The video is almost 14 minutes long, but no one would mind a one-hour video from you with vocal explanations.

    • I agree! But perhaps also a short video that is just reacting to the message, acting etc. It's really hard to cover everything in "One Sky" without losing something else.

  • The Tokyo Jazz Festival 2021 recorded performance (due to the quarantine) of the original Japanese song (not the Chinese song Autumn Strong) Ikanaide was praised by both the original singer/composer of the song and the lyricist as being the most beautiful Japanese song sung by a foreigner and sung in perfect Japanese. Dimash also sang the Mandarin song Autumn Strong in 2017 for the Singer competition. Autumn Strong uses the same music but had completely different Chinese lyrics written by a Chinese lyricist for a special docudrama tv series for a sad story about the rise and fall of a Chinese born Japanese actress during WWII. Dimash sings the Chinese song at every concert as a fan favorite. It has a more melancholy emotional feel and pathos for the end of a career/life which Dimash performs beautifully. Ikanaide is a desperate plea to a loved one to not leave "Don't Go ". Koji Tamaki composed Ikanaide while going through a divorce and sings this original song with desperate pleading. Dimash chose to sing his first Japanese song to honor Koji Tamaki's 30th anniversary as a musical legend in Japan.

  • Dimash Kudabergen, a singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, living legend, genius singer, one in a million, no, one in a billion, the best vocalist in the world. With 23 years of classical training, he has become a unique vocalist. he has become an international phenomenon since 2017 when he was invited by Hunan TV as a wild card in a contest for professional singers in China, “I am a Singer”. His first appearance in the contest gained 600 million viewers in just few days. Apparently, Dimash begins to be exposed internationally since then,. His actual singing career at the international level itself had begun many years prior to the contest.his song has accumulated more than a billion views on various platforms. Simply put, he's a mega star in China, his fan-made video of Dimash just eating something has over 250 million views. Unfortunately, they don't use KZhead in China, so he doesn't have as many subscribers on KZhead as he actually does. He has 8 million followers on Chinese Weibo.He has an amazing musical education, all the technical details he sings and uses, he knows how it works. He is musical perfection. There is no technical detail that he doesn't have, no one has ever had such talent and skills, he can be bass, baritone, tenor, counter tenor, alto, mezzo soprano, soprano and so on, he sings in 15 languages,( kzhead.info/sun/q6tshd5ohpSJno0/bejne.html + Japanese ( ikanaide song) he has the biggest range . He sings many genres, opera, pop, rap and so on. In addition to the talent that God gave, the work that he did is amazing.he has extraordinary and rich style which he also uses geniously in matching the vocals according to the song’s requirements. This makes people realise that he has extremely unique interpretation ability. Dimash always manages to deliver songs into a whole different level. Be it his own song or cover song from different singers. Off the stage, Dimash lifestyle is another source of attraction. In the showbiz world where many artists practice poisonous lifestyle, consuming drugs, alcohol, and addicted to nightlife, Dimash is praised for practicing healthy life. He does not smoke, nor he does drink alcohol or consume drugs, nor does he go clubbing. From the age of 5, he dedicated his life to music, did everything to develop it (swimming in the pool, breathing control, range, healthy lifestyle)He is an amazingly humble, warm simple man, apart from his musical excellence, as a person he is an amazing person.Dimash once quoted his teacher, “No matter how successful you are as a singer, it won’t mean anything if you do not succeed in becoming a human.” This young man then humbly said that he was actually still struggling and sometimes had to fight with himself to make the message come true. Dimash also has exceptional stage presence. He lives everyday life with his family humbly. He is a humble, polite and shy young man, but on stage he turns into a very confident and charismatic figure. Dimash raanks first in The 100 Most Attractive/ handsome Asian Celebs 2021 according to the King Choice ranking ,Dimash scored 9,304,871 points. (He was In top 10 the most handsome man in the world in 2020) His songs are exceptionally complex both technically and emotionally, he is able to properly develop emotion in music both vocally and artistry. As i say Dimash knows very well how to develop emotion in a song, even professionals can't hold back tears while listening to him .kzhead.info/sun/mciYptN5rIiqi2w/bejne.html kzhead.info/sun/gaqjqrdwgJ2Ee40/bejne.html . in terms of vocals, there is a class in China and another in England where her talent is the main subject of the music degree. ( kzhead.info/sun/gpScnbiIraqOdK8/bejne.html) Dimash has fans (called dears) from 150 countries around the world. I'd say his fans are special because we don't love Dimash because he has good looks (well, he's very attractive and cute) or because his performances are fun We love him because of the talent he has, because of the work he has done almost all his life.his loyal fans makes his first album reached the platinum level within 37 seconds and triple platinum within one hour. Dimash fans are willing to fly across the continent to watch Dimash sings in his concerts. The statistics of purchasing concert tickets reveal that the audiences are from more than 60 countries and the tickets are mostly sold out. He deserves everything. There is no other singer who can be compared to him, he is at the apogee of development.He plays 7 instruments, loves the culture of his country and wants to introduce it to the world. Dimash has been declared a "National Treasure" of Kazakhstan...He is the cultural ambassador between China and Kazakhstan...Dimash is 6'3" tall. Dimash named as global ambassador of the world’s largest distributor of donor medical equipment and charitable aid ( en.dimashnews.com/dimash-kudaibergen-became-the-global-ambassador-of-the-worlds-largest-distributor-of-donor-medical-equipment-and-charitable-aid/?amp).As I already wrote, he is very educated, he is still studying. he has 2 degrees in classical and contemporary, and on the way to a doctorate in musicology.I will say here that, like in other professions, education in music is very important, you can sing notes well, but you don't understand in details how it happens, Dimash is at a high level from this point of view, he knows exactly what, how and in what way he does it.Dimash has an incredible range that no one has ever had, full range 7.7 octaves, from G0 to D8.( kzhead.info/sun/atGoj7GCmXmJna8/bejne.html) ( D8 whistle note , off the piano) Dimash sang the highest note. Before anyone jumps out at me and tells me there are a few people who hit a higher note, I'll tell you that they just hit those notes without control, and Dimash sang from C#8 to D8 with vibrato for 5 seconds. ( kzhead.info/sun/f7BylZStgJqOp40/bejne.html).I hope you won't have a hard time seeing the difference.I will add here that Dimash did this in front of 150,000 people. He Has very good details, staccato, distinctive vibrato, rifs, melizens, vocal acrobatic, glissando, crescendo, dominoendo, long notes, breath control, correct tesitura, Able to develop emotion properly, fit roles well . Uses professional technique, Italian Bell Canto technique. In his song it feels like he is a professional even without high notes.Unfortunately, as always, geniuses are appreciated late, this guy deserves much, much more recognition, I hope the time will come and he will be properly appreciated. I also want to mention that Dimash is like a drug. I have been listening to him for the third year, I can't imagine a day without listening to him, he is the best, not because he sings high notes and has a great range, but because he enters the soul with his song and you feel something you have never felt before. .But if we consider it from a technical point of view, in this case too Dimash is the best. As vocal teachers and professionals say, his singing is technical perfection.They also say that Dimash is the best vocalist, Before someone tells me that no professional has said this and gets on my nerves (I've read such comments), I'll leave the links here as proof. kzhead.info/sun/i7uRgtisg2t-q6c/bejne.html . kzhead.info/sun/nZiwhLd_nGp4eoU/bejne.html . kzhead.info/sun/la-qlruBm4GGgpE/bejne.html kzhead.info/sun/a8udfK-NjHaJhZE/bejne.html youtu.be/sY-T . A classical singer claims/admits that he is the best vocalist in the world ( kzhead.info/sun/o86Hqct7j4F5rWg/bejne.html) , The singers are saying that they are happy to live in the same era as Dimash. ( kzhead.info/sun/dNCffMOlaaOXno0/bejne.html) , ( kzhead.info/sun/Y5Wsk5V_pJNnn68/bejne.html) ( kzhead.info/sun/ktmMqZmMa4mQp6c/bejne.html). "I thought I could sing everything ... until I met Dimash" - Ken Tamplin 2019 .( Ken about dimash kzhead.info/sun/hJlwpM9-ooqemp8/bejne.html) Mr Roberto delli Carri, a voice trainer from Italy who trains vocal coaches worldwide said Dimash's skills has been polished to diamonds level. All this in order to understand by whom Dimash is recognized as the best vocalist. ( by high level professionals) . On 5 December 2019, dimash Kudaibergen was awarded "Best Vocalist in Classical Music" and won a Special Prize for "Discovery of the Year" at the Russian National Music Awards "Victoria" that are considered the Russian equivalent to the Grammy Awards. Dimash's parents are singers, his mother is a soprano, his father is a singer and also a producer, as far as I know, Dimash's grandparents are singers, so from a musical point of view, Dimash has good genetics, he has a natural innate talent, which he developed after 23 years of work, and we have a unique singer in front of us. I could probably write a lot more, but I'll stop now, I want more people to know about him, believe me, you won't regret it. I hope I conveyed what I wanted to say correctly. I will leave a video here as a bonus where Dimash sings one of the most difficult song (even for female "queen of the night") just to warm up and have fun, Dimash sings F6 like it's nothing, plus added vibrato kzhead.info/sun/ZcewgKawqYOumo0/bejne.html - kzhead.info/sun/gb2if7ZopX2Oh4E/bejne.html kzhead.infox0e_qMS3ibQ?feature=share . Dimash has a distinctive and unique head voice, he can sing 6th octave notes with head voice, I don't know any other male singer on earth who can sing F6 with head voice like it's nothing. Several vocal teachers even said that Dimash sings better ( in head voice) than soprano singers. ( kzhead.info/sun/o6WelL5pq358rZ8/bejne.html) E6 so effortlessly ( kzhead.info4OuDjAsiLm8?feature=share) Everything I wrote here about technique and vocals is a fact, confirmed by professionals, and not my subjective opinion. If someone (I mean pathetic haters) decides to argue with me that he is not the best, talk to me with facts, not your subjective opinion. P.S I will leave here the link of Dimash's channel, it would be great if you subscribed to it kzhead.info_official9

  • Dimash sang Ikanaide (live and for the first time in Japanese) on the Tokyo Jazz Festival in 2021. Because of the pandemic, the annual Tokyo Jazz Festival took place online again. Filmmakers verify that the videos have not been edited and manipulated, so the singer sings live. In 2020 Dimash also participated in the famous annual Tokyo Online Festival with 2 songs: * S.O.S. - kzhead.info/sun/isiEiainqH2Cg3A/bejne.html * Samaltau - kzhead.info/sun/lqmyfN2Djl-dipE/bejne.html The original Japanese version Ikanaide/ Please Don’t Go (composed 1989) is by Koji Tamaki, *1958, Japanese songwriter. The sad true story... very touching: It is about Yoshiko Yamaguchi (*1920-2014), a Chinese-born Japanese actress during World War II. She hid her Japanese heritage under the name Li XIanglan and became famous in China. However, when the war was over and she revealed her identity, she was accused of being a spy. She was deported to Japan and longed for China. Ms. Yamaguchi did not return to China until many years as deputy environment minister in the Japanese parliament. The song is a metaphor as the lyrics speak of how a person should hide what they are feeling. Koji Tamaki sent a wonderful message to Dimash, thanking him, and praising him for singing his song in Japanese. Vbloggers, they reacted to the original by Koji Tamaki, they are mesmerized and can't stop listening to him. He wrote many wonderful melodies - you should check it out: Koji Tamaki 2021, Ikanaide - kzhead.info/sun/gtSgnrFqhJWZdok/bejne.html In 1993, Jacky Cheung (*1961, singer and actor in Hongkong) adapted the song into Chinese Mandarin, calling it Late Autumn: kzhead.info/sun/l9iGYqmrnnp6ZoU/bejne.html The Chinese (Autuumn Strong) and Japanese (Ikanaide/ Please, Don’t Go) versions have completely different lyrics and meanings… and of course Dimash sings both very differently. Both are based on a same true story. The Chinese version shows the image of leaves dancing in the autumn wind as a metaphor for how fate affected Yoshiko Yamaguchi's life. ...sad but inevitable and irrevocably The Japanese version does not want to accept the loss, is full of pain, pleads, suffers ... heartbreaking. I'm totally mesmerized by how sensitively Dimash differentiates and conveys to the listener the feelings of sadness and loneliness in the Chinese version and loss and pain in the Japanese version. Even his whispers and his breath are music... it breaks my heart and the tears flow... and at the end everyone suddenly holds their breath, we hear Dimash breathing, then a deep and comforting hum. I've never heard anything like it from a singer in my entire life. Only Dimash can do that. This is true mastery. * The most famous interpretation In China (first performance at the Singer 2017) was that of Dimash Qudaibergen and it was his first time to sing in Chinese mandarin: Autuumn Strong - kzhead.info/sun/ftGiYseOoJyagKc/bejne.html This song brought Dimash the 'Best Foreign Singer' award at the Golden Melody Award 2017 (equivalent to the Grammy) in Hong Kong. * Great performance (Chinese version) of Dimash from Kiev 11.03.2020, the last concert before Corona paralyzed everything: Autumn Strong - kzhead.info/sun/Z5dweamre3uQmX0/bejne.html * Other version of Dimash: In Moscow on March, 2019 - Autumn Strong - kzhead.info/sun/YMmwgpx6ppVoZIE/bejne.html

  • I love how blown away you are by Dimash every time 😃 But I don't think anyone ever just throws music at him last minute 😂 From what I've seen/read, he mulls every song over for a while, let's it "pass through his soul" I think was the quote and only then decides if he's going to sing it and how. As others have mentioned, he's sung this song many times before in Chinese and probably just needed the Japanese lyrics to stay on track.

  • I always look forward to hearing what you hear in a vocal performance, Peter: you obviously know your stuff, but you wear your knowledge lightly, and make it accessible to a general audience in a very engaging way. Dimash is obviously a vocal pedagogue's wet dream, and intrigues and excites us with every measure. So I expect you to pause a lot, and what you have to say is always interesting. But I hope you'll listen to the song again without pausing, and think better of it as a composition and an expression of the feelings of yearning, sadness and loss that it deals with. Dimash's vocal is more than the - very considerable - sum of its many parts. He is not merely a juggler, showing us his tricks; but an artist of prodigious sensitivity, intelligence, musicality and compassion, and a spirit that seems much older than his 28 years. This song is special for him, as he has sung it before, when he was 22, but in Chinese, under the English title Autumn Strong. It's fascinating to compare the two. You may also be interested to listen to the original artist, Koji Tamaki. There's a very good version here on KZhead, sung live with full orchestra and audience, when he was probably in his 60s, which makes the song's plea of "Don't go!" hit very differently. The back story of the song is also an incredibly poignant vignette of a personal tragedy, amid the atrocities of Imperial Japan's invasion of China in WW II. In any case, there's more to it than the notes on the stave, which I think you might find rewarding from some different perspectives.

You should react to the latest music video released by Dimash "The Story of One Sky", this is the quintessence of his talent, a full picture of his incredible skills (not only vocally but also acting), and he composed the song (it took 3 years...). As others already recommended I want to join the choir and ask for a reaction to his masterpiece The Story Of One Sky. I can’t answer your question what I like most about his voice. He has something special in his voice which resonates with me. He is the only one who can make me burst into tears out of nowhere by singing the first note of a song. Well, thinking about his voice, maybe I like the most that he can catapult you into other spheres with his voice and catch you before you fall at the end of the song. If that makes sense.

  • Hello Peter and thank you for your reaction. Dimash sings this song in Japanese, which he has never done before. He is very familiar with the melody as he first sang this song in Mandarin in 2017. The paper on the stand is probably a phonetic rendering of this song he can refer to! By the way, Dimash says “Ikenaide” about 15 times during the song, so you could refer to that for the pronunciation! One of my favorite Dimash songs!

  • Ikanaide means "Don't Go" in Japanese. "Please don't go away, please don't go away. Please don't ever let us separate. Please don't go away. Let us remain this way." This is an old Japanese song that Dimash re-made and re-interpreted as only he can. He made this recording for the Japanese Jazz Festival and even the Japanese were extremely impressed not just with Dimash's extraordinary voice but because Dimash doesn't speak Japanese and yet he sang this song with such emotion. Dimash - music in human form.

  • I would not be surprised if Dimash had notes concerning the language in front of him. Ikanaide was Dimash’s first song recorded in Japanese. Any singer performing in an unfamiliar language can certainly be forgiven for using notes. Loved the analysis Peter and sometimes it’s difficult to keep up with what Dimash is doing let alone the specific key he’s doing it in! Cheers from Canada!!

  • I will add my vote to those who recommend that you react to "The Story of One Sky". It would have to be a much longer reaction as it's 13min and 40 seconds long I believe. Another good one would be his new Spanish song. This is only available from a fancam but it's really fun! It's also an operatic song. If you haven't reacted to "My White Swan" the live version from his Bastau concert I think, where he sings with one of his teachers, I would love to hear what you think about that! I would be interested to hear you compare Dimash's voice with the teacher's who I think is a soprano. They both sing some of the high parts! I enjoyed hearing about the technical aspects that go into Dimash's singing as I know very little about singing.I just saw Thilvie's idea that you do your musical reaction to the live fantasy version of "The Story of One Sky" so you can focus on his voice. Then do another to the MV. I think that's a great idea!
