  • one tips: make a sub layer for same level high objects, so you dont have to put a shadow effect one by one

  • Hmm - it seems like you went backwards to me and added a lot of extra steps. I wonder if you couldn't achieve the same thing by making one small shape and then making larger ones underneath it and then add drop shadow effect to each layer to get the same result.
