If the fighter lacks strength of inner being, if he is not mentally mature in other words, he will rely on his egoism to tone down the intensity of the moment. In that case a sly fake smile is what we see as a reaction, it can also manifest as bunch of poor excuses if he is allowed to talk. You often can see shy (weak) people laugh when the situation is unexpected humiliating or awkward

    • Living legend? For beating a gymnast? Are you kidding me? Don't give Usyk this ridiculous label that Manny Pacquaio somehow earned after fighting Timothy Bradley. Timothy Bradley was/is/and remains a D- level fighter. AJ always was/is and remains an F-level fighter since before the Klitscho fight. Besides that, the guy that just recently beat 58 year old Holyfield could Knock Joshua out with relative ease.

    • They seemed to move around like cruiserweights. Usyk is a recent example of a fighter to move up to the heavyweight class, and Evander Holyfield was able to move up and claim belts at both weights. Only Ali could "run" about like this.

    • One Ukrainian judge, one American, and one British, scored Usyk 117, 116, and 115, respectively. It was one sided enough that even the biased British judge couldn't see Joshua winning the fight.

Yes, it was obvious he’s losing, but it’s part of boxing. Otherwise every game should be stopped right before referee sees the guy is about to get knocked out.

  • So is everyone going to ignore the fact that this beast Usyk has amassed up to 350 amateur boxing career fights. Mind you, his last few years competing in the amateurs were in the Heavyweight category; 91kg/200lbs where he competed in Worlds, and Olympics, winning as a gold medalist. Unified the ENTIRE Cruiserweight division in under 20 pro fights, and will now unify the Heavyweight Division. Uysk has almost four to five times more experience in the ring, compared to AJ, Wilder, and Fury. He will unify the Heavyweight division, and make everyone very feel once more .

    • @@barrybarnes96 I think its a bit of a reach to call it weak. I think it makes the fights even more intense aswell as lets peoples play more into their own strengths. If youre talking about Deonte so he still earned his prev title through fights that he won sqaurely. Seems more like a self projection than anything.

  • I knew Usyk was an excellent boxer, I saw that when he became undisputed at cruiserweight. My concern when he went to heavyweight was twofold, his apparent lack of one punch knockout power and his chin holding up getting tagged by bigger men. I am pleased to see that he has maintained his pure boxer style. He didn't try to slug it out with AJ...nor did he fight in the clinch. He boxed beautifully and kept his feet moving effectively. Major props to Usyk.
