Has anyone ever noticed how most of Harry's music videos have displayed some sort of distress? The Falling mv is about slowly getting overcome with so much emotion that you start to drown in it,and he just keeps playing the piano, not seeing what is happening around him until it's too late. And then, when it drains out, he is panting really hard, showing that he is still in pain, but its getting better. The adore you mv shows a boy who is different from others, and is so much of an outcast that he brings himself to the water, and puts rocks in his pockets so he can, you know, sink. And then he meets the fish who is having the same problem as him, and he realized that they need eachother. He saved fish, and the fish saved him. Later when the fish leaves him, he follows, using his jar of screams from earlier in the video to get his boat moving. He turned the negative in his life into a way to save himself and others. The Sign of the Times mv shows him flying, and when you connect itto the song,.you realize that he is flying because he is saying "it's time for you to go, dont worry, it will be okay". Like, we always talk about Louis losing his family, and Zayns mental health, and Liams alcohol abuse, and Nialls physical struggles with his injuries and stuff, and all of that is horrible, but think about harry. He has gotten the most negative attention in the band since the beginning because of his "bad boy" and "womanizer" image. He has had to face so many people calling him a "sex symbol" and the f slur TO HIS FACE. His stepfather Robin, who heabsolutely adored, passed away. Louis' mom, Jay, who was like a motherto him, passed away. Fizz, who was like a sister to him, passed away. One of his best friends killed themself, years ago, and be slightly talked about it during his interview with Zane Lowe, saying that he always asks how people are because "you wish you could have just asked 'are you okay? just one last time". His first real girlfriend, Carolin killed herself in February, because of all of the hate she was getting. He probably felt guilty because a lot of the hate she got was because she dated him. And then he had to perform 'Falling" live, just a few days later. And there were so many other things that happened to him that month. He had a show cancelled on his birthday, he was robbed at knifepoint That's literally his life. I feel like everyone always assumes that he is such a happy person, when in reality, he has gone through so much more than most people should ever have to. We need to think more about his mental health, and how he is doing. This man devotes his life to trying to make sure his fans are happy in their own skin, and feel supported. We should do the same for him. (Btw, I am 15 years old. I wanted to say my age so that people understand that you are never too young to understand, or try to make a difference when you see something that needs to be changed.)

This is so underrated. I mean I bow in respect to you and this comment. People just care about the song, just care who it is about, just care it's rating or views but people don't look into the deeper perspective of the singer. Harry singing falling and this song means so much to me 'cause it literally shows his pain the audience and how hate comments and the 'womanizer' theory affected him. He is literally opening to his fans. Only few singers could do that u know? Like take an example for Louis, 'two of us' is such a deep song and literally makes u cry how this guy has grown up so much and so matured to write a song about his mother's death! He writes how he feels guilty that he couldn't spend too much time with her but yet he remembers the lyrics if her favourite song and he feels sad and expects her to be proud of him(even though I am sure she is very proud of him). When Louis sings two of us live he doesn't sing the part swear to God I'll make you proud, it's like he isn't happy with it. Don't let break your heart and only for brave just breaks my heart. It literally shows his sufferings and how much this industry effects a person's mental health or how much it can control the life of an artist. Just like you..I mean this art needs to be appreciated 'cause he begs the audience to not judge him 'cause he is famous. All the boys have gone through so much. Zayn got so much hate and still struggles with anxiety. Liam didn't feel confident enough after the band wanted to end his life! And Niall, this guy is just a pure gem. He was physically hurt but yet he did a full complete show just for his audience. Even behind the brightest smiles there are hidden tears. People just care about fame of the artists. Care about their image. They just look at superficial scars and not the bleeding heart of the artist. It's easy to comment about who the song is, and about the story behind it. But its difficult to empathize with the artist who has gone through that 'story'.Placing yourself in their shoe and saying that 'i had similar experiences' is not the same. These guys had to go through lot, they were so young! Yeah they got fame but only few acknowledge the pain that came with it.

A lot of singers include "you, your, our, us" in their songs, however is it just me or does when Harry says those words (and only in this song specifically) do you actually feel like he's talking to you? Like I was doing my homework and listening to this and he said, "maybe one day you'll call me" and I was like "wait was someone talking to me? Who am I not calling?" It's just the power of his words and his songs.
I think it's the production - he's got vocal doubled in each ear, delay between parts, and its tonally in front of and louder than everything else in the mix. So fucking cool how mixing can create such a difference in what the track means and feels like. Not sure if it was a calculated move by whoever mixed this track, but either way - it ended up this way. God I love music.
