LONELY KING | Rentheking Hermitcraft Animatic
After 5 months... it's done!!! :DDD It was supposed to come out earlier tho, but there's alot of parts where I had creative blocks, especially on the instrumental parts, but yay it's done and now it's here!
This is my 2nd big animatic on this channel and my first semi-colored animatic :)
Context: Rentheking was once a mighty and honorable king of Hermitcraft. With the help of his loyal advisor BdoubleO100 (Bdubs), he built roads, fixed the inflated economy, and gave generous rewards to those who completed server quests.
But alas, the good did not last long, as the power bestowed upon him corrupted his heart. He imposed strict rules, controlled the economy by imposing a new worthless currency and ordered the assassinations of everyone who opposed him. He slowly descended to madness for the sake of glory. The once friendly hermit Rendog... was now nothing but a greedy and selfish king on a throne, with the sole purpose is to be there as long as eternity. Truly, the role of the king is a lonely one to play.

If I had a diamond for every time Ren declared himself king in a server with A Crastle built by Cleo and Bdubs and was overthrown by a rebellion at least partially instigated by Grian, I'd have two.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again (and again), we need Ren to play a king every so often; it is always wildly entertaining and the fanworks it inspires are always S-tier
The part where it flickers in between normal Ren and "corrupted" Ren??? AND THE WHITE FLAMES IN THE BACKGROUND AGAINST THE RED SKY REFERENCING 3RD LIFE???? I am EATING this video this is insane!!!
OH MY GOSH THIS IS AMAZING!! I also did an animatic about Rendog to this song, and it took me almost a year, so the fact that you did all this with ACTUAL ANIMATION in FIVE MONTHS is INSANE!! The colours and shots are incredible as well as the character designs and movements! I love how you included the fight in the vault and the final shots of Ren in the cage and framing everything within the "history book" was genius!! As someone who put the work into telling Ren's story through this song as well, I absolutely love your take! I really hope he sees this! 🤗

Oh my...this gave me goosebumps it's so good!!! The animation is beautiful and the song perfectly fits the storyline. My favorite part is when at the end Ren in his delusion sees loyal subjects while in reality he's caged up. It's such a cool visual

This is really good! All the details are amazing! I really do love how you made Ren’s POV in the whole thing, where he believed he was in the right the whole time and he’d win in the end. And didn’t see what he was doing, and thought that he was doing good for the hermits- and just wanted people to understand. So good job!

I love how the original was made for another minecraft server, but it also fits this storyline so well. Incredible job of fitting the story in the song, not to mention the incredible art, great job!!

Okay, that was awesome. I love the way you frame the stories each time! Ren's corrupted view of things really came into view in that last scene. I assume that was Cleo with the book? And the tossing bags of "money" at people to cause more and more chaos. It happened in the series, but the way you animated it really drew out the "do what I say because otherwise you die" in a remarkable way.
Now this fits with Ren ngl
