  • Spent months in India on several occasions. I found the people to be very nice, genuine, and courteous. In short, a pleasure to deal with.

  • I am Mexican and went to a boarding school in the US where I met an Indian girl. We talked about our countries and we agreed that they're incredibly similar both in problems but most importantly in cultural wealth. Dance, music, gastronomy, clothing, traditions: you name it. These countries are like a whole world to discover.

    • @@hizerekt4091 Dave's rude. It's very different. Of course part of Dave's 'rudeness' is due to the fact that he speaks truths, but he can't be included when you're talking about kindness in comedy. Gabriel has the capability to not affect the audience with his opinions, doesn't touch fragile subjects, and his depiction of people/countries, etc never has his personal 'volatile' opinions included. Dave doesn't have a problem in telling both the good and bad, even if it hurts or switches some people on him. Honesty and kindness kinda collide sometimes. Gabriel wouldn't be so kind if he was more honest, and Dave wouldn't be seen as rude if he wasn't so honest.

It's a different perspective. I've been here for nearly 4 years now. It's everything that you have said, Fluffy. I love the people here. • @@BruceWayne-qe7bs What I have found is that I'm 1/8th mixed Native. We knew about this, but not about the composition that was within my paternal g-grandmother. Mine is supposedly mostly SE India, then Pima people of The Sonoras in Mēxico, NW Africa, N India, and then Central American. It is a great mystery how all this ended up in my g-grandmother. I am thinking that she was 2/3 Indian and 1/3 Native American with the smattering of the other stuff. The only thing I can think of is that our ancestors from India came over across the Pacific thousands of years ago (Indians were sea-faring capable for thousands of years, having evidence of influence actoss SE Asian countries). After arriving, they must not have intermixed among the already-present Natives for a long time until maybe the 1600s or 1700s. It is known in Hindū texts that there were a people who were sent "underneath" to have some distance between two rival groups of people. If you look at the antipode of America, you will find that it roughly corresponds to India. or somewhere near it.

The stereotyping is not stereotypical because it is true, very humid, very dusty, shorter men, thousands of people in a small space, families living under highway bridges etc (like any other country though). However, you also see that happy couples, children playing cricket, delicious Indian cuisine, splendid and quality clothing, affordable shopping, the developed city areas, the strong culture and geography. You really will appreciate the experience!

He found out that i had just graduated and moved out and was just starting out. I had explained that it was very important to me make it on my own so i wasnt asking for anything unless i really needed it. I'm a thin person and i did have enough food but not really anything left over. So everyday he would ask me for something like a fork or a naplin etc. Then he would thank me by buying me a simple cheap snack as payment for my service (which in his culture is considered the appropriate thing to do.) So he showed me great respect for my wishes but still showed me great kindness my making sure I was ok. I will always remember him and his great kindness and I have made sure to pay his kindness forward whenever I can. My opinions are about people I have met, not societies I've never even observed. • 💯 on the Mexican/Hispanic-- Indian mixups. I remember traveling for the first time to the southern US on business way back and thinking many of the staff at the hotel were Indian. I actually asked one of them in Hindi when I found she couldn't understand me in English. She was Dominican! Ironically, on a flight within the US, the black stewardess thought I was Hispanic and started asking me in Spanish if I wanted a juice or coffee 🤣
