Early May is when they start spawning here! We seem to be holding onto winter this year too. Shallower lakes are 48-50 degrees mid day, and most lakes are still 45ish
Same in Michigan, water won’t get above 45 🤦🏻♂️

Great stuff Edwin! I saw you fishing the Gilly in that KZhead video and as soon as they reached my area I was on them. They are awesome this time of year but I have had trouble getting hooked up when I use an EWG through the side. Coming out the top has given me a much better hook up. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with all of us.

Thanks again for the info, really enjoy these even though I’m way south of you in Texas and we’ll soon close on the spawning season and notice a lot of comments north of you still in low 50’s and we’re approaching 70’s soon but I do what I can to keep your tips in mind. The tips on cranking have really helped me catch more and better fish.
