JD's meta strategy for this match was brilliant, he purposely built his bases forward just to make it easier to defend against harassment while also at the same time constantly threatening his own harassment, since by playing like this he can keep the bulk of his army at the front and it's a really long walk for Protoss to get from around to his main or natural which means he can always prepare for anything. This forced Bisu into a defensive position in the earlygame and prevented him from doing any harassment AND from expanding fast, which allowed Z to have 59 drones while P had 49 drones as the game transitioned into midgame. Basically JD was in for the long game from the start, and he pulled it off exactly like he wanted. He knew that early skirmishes here will most likely be in P favor due to the cliff layouts and the short counterattack distances, so there's no point to take risks and no point to attack until dark swarm and adrenal are out. The whole thing was orchestrated towards the end goal.

I love seeing the lings mixed in. I used to do that all the time. They are so extremely cheap that all you need to support constant production from a hatchery is 3 drones on minerals..... Even just attack-moving them into an opponent's 3rd base occasionally just to draw their apm and attention away from macro or micro during fights can make a huge difference. Triple evo really helps when you mix lings in, and I loved seeing that in this game.

JD forced some great trades. I appreciate that you started a second casting channel. It's so hard to have multiple games on the same channel without being punished by the algorithm. I think a lot of AoE2+4 players found that when their audiences would split. Might check out your other casting channel for the variety!

that 3 hatchery near pretty much ALL ENGAGEMENTS was the key to winning, Jaedong macro was so good, he after traded well with his army those reinforcments got there to solidify the position and maintain high ground. Awesome game from him.

(Spoiler) That map seems super difficult for PvZ with all that highground. Obi-wan might be a Zerg player. Also it feels when Zerg has dark swarms ready when the Protoss doesn't even have a robo on the way it rarely ends well

I think jaedong taking and defending that middle 3rd base so early won him the game hands down. It served as a really strong forward base to rally too, made it really easy to reinforce the central area, and it threatened two potential expos that bisu would've preferred (this top expo and the 4th expo NW of the center). Bisu was essentially stuck, he had to either force a hard to defend expo (as he did in this game) or he would be stuck on the complete left side making his 3rd/4th bases on the W/SW side very hard to reinforce.

Random question here: Lets say im playing zerg and i want to practice my 4 pool. Would it be beneficial to tell my opponent at start im going 4 pool, ally with them to give them vision so they know im not lying. The idea is to make it as hard as possible for myself, so that when i 4 pool in the ASL (theoretically) I would have had really good practice I suppose the pros must do things like this? Play custom games vs eachother and plan out what builds they will do in order to practice vs eachother?

I wonder why while roaming in mid game after Protoss third he doesn't switch into Reaver. Pushing ramps over and over seems like it will never work. Storm drops and Reaver would probably do nicely and allow a fourth at least. That choke in the center of the fourth seemed doable.

The whole 13:00 to 14:20 fight shows why Starcraft can be seen as better than starcraft 2. In SC2 both would have just moved their armies back and forth, trying to snipe two units while only losing one. This would have been super boring to watch because almost nothing would have happened on the screen. This here however was an actually super intense fight that both sides had committed into - you can't retreat that many units in SC2 because you can only select 12. So they're actually trying to make the best out of it and actually fight it out.

I wonder why all zerg players do third exp close to their natural and go mass hydra now. Not so long ago they were making third on natural of another main. So they had 4 bases with 2 entrances. They made defence with sunks, lulkers and were going fast hive for defilers, ultras.. Interesting how all players play the same tactics at the same time..

I know that BroodWar is an RTS too, but for a short name this would be distinctive enough, people will understand. You can't tell me that Dark Archons don't have a place in late game PvZ. Maestrom + storm is a 1shot kill for anything in the mael, and FB has a longer range than Defilers and auto kills them as they're always high energy. Most under utilized Protoss unit that has undiscovered power imo. But hey, keep bashing your head into ling/lurk/hydra + dark swarm 🤷♂

Bisu is obviously one if not the best protoss but I think he threw this match. He should've known better. JD was going to hold the high-ground with lurkers. I think this is a Zerg favored map... needed lategame carriers and HT storm (there is a lot of gas) or cheese... Regular army attacks was never going to make it. The advantage of high-ground + Lurker everywhere is too much and hard to get through.

Jaedong is not as good as he once was like 15 years ago. He is not the greatest zerg in the world since remastered. Soma, Soulkey, Hero are all much better than modern Jaedong. Jaedong no longer has insane muta micro, he no longer keeps his lings alive in protoss's bases forever like he once did, he doesn't dominate zvz anymore, his modern play is pretty bland.

defilers are stupid op. The spells it has are fine but i feel like detection units should counter dark swarm and plague should only decrease health AFTER shields are down and plague should get cleansed with batteries.

I wonder why all zerg players do third exp close to their natural and go mass hydra now. Not so long ago they were making third on natural of another main. So they had 4 bases with 2 entrances. They made defence with sunks, lulkers and were going fast hive for defilers, ultras.. Interesting how all players play the same tactics at the same time..

RT, instead of that overwhelmingly boring "Artosis Casts 2" you can use something like "Artosis Casts non-BroodWar". Ok, this is not great either. "Artosis Casts RTS" ? I know that BroodWar is an RTS too, but for a short name this would be distinctive enough, people will understand. And surely there are better names out there, you just need to send your vultures to find them.

You can't tell me that Dark Archons don't have a place in late game PvZ. Maestrom + storm is a 1shot kill for anything in the mael, and FB has a longer range than Defilers and auto kills them as they're always high energy. Most under utilized Protoss unit that has undiscovered power imo. But hey, keep bashing your head into ling/lurk/hydra + dark swarm 🤷♂

Bisu is obviously one if not the best protoss but I think he threw this match. He should've known better. JD was going to hold the high-ground with lurkers. I think this is a Zerg favored map... needed lategame carriers and HT storm (there is a lot of gas) or cheese... Regular army attacks was never going to make it. The advantage of high-ground + Lurker everywhere is too much and hard to get through.

Jaedong is not as good as he once was like 15 years ago. He is not the greatest zerg in the world since remastered. Soma, Soulkey, Hero are all much better than modern Jaedong. Jaedong no longer has insane muta micro, he no longer keeps his lings alive in protoss's bases forever like he once did, he doesn't dominate zvz anymore, his modern play is pretty bland.
The guy has had multiple surgeries to deal with the injuries/wear & tear on his hands & wrists. His micro is never going to be like it was in 2008, but clearly there is still a place for him in the pro scene, even if he may never be all that he once was.
get into total annihilation and ill watch your other channel, otherwise nah, those games are shit sc2 wanna-be's
