I love this guy's personality. And it was so refreshing to seeing a guy on here, especially a POC.
Yeah it's a nice shake up! Would be cool to see more dudes my age on here more often
@@lowwastehighmelanin love your channel name!
Seeing a man on TFD was surprising and welcome. As a guy, I've always felt somewhat guilty (?) watching and following because I thought I was somehow intruding on a safe space for women to share, learn, and discuss money and mindful living practices. TFD has been extremely helpful in my learning and working towards my financial goals. Very thankful!
Second this!
Don't feel bad about watching content at all! It's great that you are watching it for your purpose and also a good thing you are getting insights into a not made for males financial info channel. No guilt from this female ;)
Never feel guilty. Finances knows no gender! :)
I really appreciate TFD diversifying their content! I love the sit down Chelsea videos but these new segments are also super interesting and well done!! Keep up the awesome work
YEESS, it's nice to see a channel that's aware of its position actually work through more voices.
I love how considerate you are-to the buyers, the future clothing wearers, & even sharing the store credit to someone else! I’ve watched a bunch of videos of people selling their clothes, and I don’t think I’ve ever heard them make these points. I really enjoyed your sharing this experience & thoughts with everyone. 😊
I hope we get more videos with Julian in the future. He’s lovely. Also, the margarita mid trip was perfect 😂
love love LOVED the thorough explanations, and how much consideration Juilan took into making sure his clothes were in good condition to get sold and pass along the fruits of his labor
Loved this video,we usually see decluttering and selling clothes from a feminine perspective and that too online it was refreshing to see something different.Looking forward to more such videos
"low key humiliated" = me, whenever thrift shops don't want my clothes I like this on the street approach, most TFD videos are listicles in a studio - so this was refreshing!
this vlogging and longer conversational style is refreshing
I love this “test lab” concept!!! And absolutely shocked that Buffalo exchange paid SO MUCH for all those- I know where to go now!
Personally, I have never had any luck at Buffalo Exchnge.
Similar to meg arbo, it is usually hard for me to sell at my local Buffalo Exchange. But I bet Julian had more luck because "men's" clothing is usually less available than women's.
yes! Thank you for reminding us to always wash our clothes before resale. I have always done that, cause no one should have to deal with dirty clothes (I have heard horror stories from friends who worked in resale). This is such a great way to make quick cash, declutter and also support slow fashion.
I held a garage sale recently and the feeling of unburdening myself of stuff is incredible.
Omg, I can see why you hired Julian. What a considerate human being ❤️ I love him! I love him tenfold - we need more Julian energy in the world.
would be VERY interested in watching how to utilize the online platforms to sell clothing! that is something i’ve been wanting to do but like he said, it requires a lot of effort logistically. i would love to see how he does it 😬
And I *would* like to see what the differences are in selling online!
Love this type of content! I love seeing him resale and knowing that none of this stuff went to waste. Let's see more of Julian :)
loved this declutter type content!!! i’m a virgo moon too julian ;0 the extra care in nicely folding everything to resell w ur info etc… such a nice touch!
Freakin love the diversity TFD is bring in! Please keep it up! Loved this video and can’t wait for more to come!
This video inspired me to FINALLY resell my clothes I've been putting off donating. Thank you for the reminder, and Julian is SUCH a great guest ❤
I'm a buyer at a resale shop, and I cannot tell you how happy it made me that you laundered your clothes and did research before selling. It's always such a bummer when someone brings something in and we can't take it in because of spotting or other stuff that would come out in the wash. Great work and great video!
I think it’s so nice you’re trying to help a friend ❤️
I LOVE him and I LOVE this video!! Thank you for the in-depth look of what reselling in person looks like, especially during COVID!
this video is my first watch from TFD in a while, and I really love Julian’s approach and this video style! I’ve been wanting content like this for a while to inspire me to proactively sell my own clothes, and so far any that I’ve seen missed the mark as far as relatability/having enough practical info/being enjoyable to watch so that I’m actually motivated. more Julian and yes to that deeper dive into online selling, please!
Loved this video, his personality, and well done video!!!!! Keep em coming. Especially nice to see someone other than myself who uses these methods for resale.
Omg I saw him doing an apartment tour on youtube too!! Great personality and so excited for him to be a part of the TFD team!
The clear zippers cubes!! I love the way you collected and presented them for resale. I think they are Whitmor, which originated in Brooklyn according to their promo video. Not as expensive as I had originally guessed, and they really look super pro👍🏽
Ok he is just adorable and I loved seeing him. Please make more videos with him! Also he gave great advice and he is very organized.
Loved his personality and tips for reselling.
Love this video! Chelsea is the OG, but it's great to see some new faces around here, especially when the content is so well done.
That was really a fun video. I don't really have resale places near me that buy clothing so I sell a lot online. I loved the tips about cleaning your clothing beforehand and being organized while selling.
Wow he is more organized in this one task then I have ever been in my life lol! Also I love him! I could see us being good friends ❤️
This video was great! Also, it’s crazy how much more these stores are willing to give you in store credit vs cash 😮
Perfect timing I’m prepping my clothing this weekend to sell!
I like this gentleman. He was informative.
Thank you so much for highlighting smaller channels and content creators of color!
Loved this video! Definitely a fan of this format.
This is very refreshing and down-to-earth financial content. I chose to sell my brand new items online. Although it is much more work, and takes longer, the profit is much much better than taking them to the local thrift store. Brands like Lululemon, Adidas, Nike and Free People sells usually within a month on platforms like poshmark in my personal experience.
For me, the hassle of taking and editing pictures, taking measurements, writing descriptions, haggling with prospective buyers, shipping, sitting the items in the interim... Going to a brick-and-mortar and getting it handled in a day is usually a preferable option
@@supernova622 Yeah I definitely see the benefit of selling them all in a day. I also pack some of my used lower-cost items in a box to my local thrift store for the reasons you said. It is so satisfying and productive to get it done in one day! I just prefer to sell some popular brand or more costly items online to make more money back.
This video was very informative & a nice change from TFD’s other formats
Julian did a great job! Love his personality. Also good video and audio quality 👍. The other vids have been difficult to watch
I love the diversifying of content and personalities. This is great!
Julian is so much fun! And this was an very helpful video, and i do not even live in the states!
It is always really wonderful to sell quite a number of items that one isn't using anymore. I try my best to do the same thing. Sometimes people get attached to our old items, though. But there are a lot of things to gain from selling old stuff and getting more room, too.
Took a chance on watching this, as I usually find selling clothes videos very predictable and formulaic. This was a refreshed take, and I really enjoyed the style where Julian spoke to us candidly/in a less scripted manner. His consideration and attention to detail was also really enjoyable to view ✨ keep it up
Loved the video and the challenge! Great to have Julian on TFD, he has a great personality and refreshing new segments and content, keep up the awesome work!
I really liked this vlog style - Julian is so engaging. Love this.
I really love that you used sensitive and I scented wash for the clothes you wanted to resell. I’ve bought secondhand clothes from stores and online, and though I’m going to wash them when I get home anyways, the strong perfume, body odor or detergent smells have definitely been a reason I haven’t bought something in person, or that I have to plug my nose as I’m dumping things into my washer if I buy online.
If you are reading this right now, I wish you the most ABUNDANT year of your life!
I am excited about this series!
I loved this content experiment from TFD! I'd definitely be interested in seeing more content like this included on TFD!
Loveeee these new videos and the new hosts!! One tip I have is that I think it would be good to also label the videos as The Test Lab and maybe create a running playlist of all of them so they’d be easier to find!
This was great! I like the list videos, and the narrated/animated ones can be good, and obviously I love a good Chelsea rant, but it was fun watching Julian go through the reselling process. It puts it in context when that tip is always given to people looking to make extra cash.
Loved his style and personality! This was a great way to mix up content.
Fun video! I've done enough closet purges over the last couple years that I don't have much left that I want to sell, but I do have a pair of big winter boots that I've been hanging on to to list online when it's not summer any more! I tried in May, and people just did not care about furry boots at that point.
REALLY loved this episode. Super engaging and fun.
I love how you've styled your home!
Selling online with Julian sounds great! Looking forward to more content with him.
I loved seeing this!! I also sell clothing online and at local resale shops. I personally try to sell seasonally since I live in Florida and no one ever takes sweaters!
The lowkey shade that you don’t have style is so true 😂 I realized that trying to sell my clothes too. But then I realized the place buys brand names only even if they are in bad quality vs non branded items (like from ross and stuff) even if it was new
Great video! I would love to see more videos like this on TFD.
Loved this episode!! I hope he makes more videos for TFD!
I love this man. More of him and his content please!
great content!! more of this and more of him...
Loved this new content!
I’d love the digital challenge ! This video was super informative and I’m already thinking about how to clear out my closet and make money back.
What a cutie! Let him do more videos on TFD. I really enjoyed watching this.
This guy is awesome! ❤️
What a Total sweetheart he is! I’ll definitely be checking out his personal channel!
Really enjoyed this episode! I’m purging and decluttering right now also.
Me too
Definitely enjoyed this video and I’d like to see this done via social media as well!
I emotionally connected to that Virgo Moon comment LOL. This was such a relevant video for me, and a great shift of content. I would love to see more from him!
Aw I remember this guy! His spot on Sweet Digs was so dope.
🦁🌞 lol I’m a Leo sun too!! Lol that was Great the he shared his sun & moon sign with us!! 😆😜
Fantastic video, Julian!
This was really helpful
what a great adventure and reminder of the use of thrift stores always being the best.
Where did you get those storage cubes?
I’d love to see the online sell version. I’m digging this test lab content!
Welcome Julian!!!
Coming from a place where it would be much more time-consuming for me to go to thrift stores to sell, I would be interested in seeing an online version of this. Both direct selling such as Poshmark and third-party selling like thread up.
I enjoyed this video and that was a good amount of store credit!
This channel got better by introducing this new format and new host :) So charismatic!
Love this video! I'm moving in a few weeks and this is inspiring me to de-clutter so I don't have to pack as much!
yes dropps laundry pods!!!
Can TFD viewers participate in the test lab? These episodes are so interesting.
Ooh I love that idea! And we could even have some commentary/reaction from some of the TFD staff
👍🏾 I like that idea!
More of this guy, he's so energetic and entertaining! Ok, he's also daddy.
Wait, wait, wait a minute now. Was he on Make It? That wallpaper is screaming at me.
His face when doing mental math! 😂I felt that.
Where did he get the plastic garment cubes from?
he is so eloquent!!!!
I love this video. As a new yorker this is lit
Would love to see more TFD content from this guy! He’s cute as heck and very engaging.
I would love to see part two of this with selling the clothes online.
I recently had a very bad experience with a thrift store so I've given up on thirst altogether my goal is to gift the new clothes that I don't wear and since clothes that I buy are all custom-made, it's saved me a lot of money by applying the gifting, stoping the cash out flow. By just not bringing more stuff into the household until I'm down to like 20% of my wardrobe... So far I've saved 2k in 1 year.🤗 Now I just have to stick to this plan.
I, too, have had terrible experiences. They've claimed either my clothes were worth 10¢ for each article and they would sale about 50¢ or complete junk despite being high quality and in trend/in fashion. I had to resell everything online and most it sold in less than a few days for nearly 400% times the price they said it could. A LOT of work.
Awesome video.
Okay Julian is charming as hell I subscribed to his channel like a minute into the video.
This is interesting to see. We don't have places that buy men's clothes, one place takes teen boys clothes. And also only one place that will buy plus sized women's clothes, you are required to put them in a laundry basket. The thrift stores here only take the clothes for free, no they are not charities. He made an amazing amount of money. Here it has to be new luxury brands to make much
I enjoyed this and Julien!
Loved this video! I’m confused by one thing he said though…he said most of his clothes were thrifted but in the next scene he mentions he doesn’t buy clothes 2nd hand? Huh?
Maybe he meant on sale?
❤ Julian...
Love to see a guy cleaning out his wardrobe!
Love the idea of getting store credit on a gift card and sharing it with someone else if you don’t need it for yourself.
