Lyrics: I hear the ticking of the clock I'm lying here the room's pitch dark I wonder where you are tonight No answer on the telephone And the night goes by so very slow Oh, I hope that it won't end though Alone [Chorus] 'Till now I always got by on my own I never really cared until I met you And now it chills me to the bone How do I get you alone? How do I get you alone? [Verse 2] You don't know how long I have wanted To touch your lips and hold you tight, oh You don't know how long I have waited And I was gonna tell you tonight But the secret is still my own And my love for you is still unknown Alone [Chorus] 'Till now I always got by on my own I never really cared until I met you And now it chills me to the bone How do I get you alone? How do I get you alone? [Guitar Solo] [Outro] How do I get you alone? How do I get you alone? Alone, alone

MariNate Nuclear war was a real possibility. I was a kid and it was present enough that I was scared of it, even though I wasn't in the US. There were just soooo many many nukes on both sides that it would have been the end of everything. I remember the end of the Cold War in 1989-1991 and the relief that it just wasn't likely to happen anymore.

Ann Wilson has one of the greatest rock and roll voices. There is a reason most female vocalists won't even attempt to sing Heart songs. Such tender sweetness until her voice soars into the chorus and rips the roof off. She's got an overdrive vocal gear very few singers can touch. Stand back because Ms. Wilson is in the house.

My parents were teens/early 20’s in the 80’s and that’s the decade that they really stuck in since it was so formative for them. They had us in the early 90’s and my entire childhood was filled with 80’s music, movies, etc. I’ve never met anyone who lived in the 80’s that didn’t absolutely love everything about it. Decades then were like a breath of fresh air, new exciting music and clothes. Everything blends together now

I don't know, I personally much prefer Heart's '70s stuff, and I feel that this track, like a bunch of their later stuff, lacks the distinctive Heart sound and feel that kept me putting on Dreamboat Annie (the album, not specifically that track or its reprise ) over and over, you know what I mean? Don't get me wrong, I dig this, too, but it's not the Heart and I know love.

Jackie e Am I weird still like Partridge Family songs. We had it made in 70s80s in Buffalo,NY 10 years of concerts 4 every summer at Bills Stadium. They had all the big time bands Rolling Stones, Led Zepplin, Bad Company, Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Who, Alice Cooper. I gave Mick Jagger a nickname ( A Rooster on Acid ) cause of his energy on stage Some concerts got out of hand because lack of security, how do control 80,000 fans. Even Bills games were crazy in 80s. It sucks we have that reputation for most snow in winter. I agree we get 10-12 feet from Lake Erie most winters. Buffalo is known as a drinking city. My guess because lots of Irish people.

Nancy Wilson is one of the most beautiful women I’ve ever seen pickup a guitar this song was on mtv when I was a little kid I was pretty much in love with her lol
❤Both are amazing women.... spellbinding ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
They need autotune to try to get to this level. I was unfortunate enough to hear this song as an autotuned version from some little b¡tch wanna be singer in a youtube video intro and it was a disgrace

The only female singer in rock that comes close to Ann's singing is Pat Benatar. IMHO Ann still on top.

" ALONE - HEART " Shared On Google + thanks,,,, I hear the ticking of the clock I'm lying here the room's pitch dark I wonder where you are tonight No answer on the phone And the night goes by so very slow Oh I hope that it won't end though Alone Till now I always got by on my own I never really cared until I met you And now it chills me to the bone How do I get you alone How do I get you alone You don't know how long I have wanted To touch your lips and hold you tight, oh You don't know how long I have waited And I was going to tell you tonight But the secret is still my own And my love for you is still unknown Alone Till now I always got by on my own I never really cared until I met you And now it chills me to the bone How do I get you alone How do I get you alone How do I get you alone How do I get you alone Alone, alone Songwriters: BROWN, NACIO HERB/FREED, ARTHUR Alone lyrics © Sony/ATV Music Publishing LLC LyricFind Lyrics term of use More Heart lyrics

I'm 50 this year. This is the best era of all time
Yes!!
I'm 74 years old and I didn't know this song existed until just recently. It is one THE best songs I have ever heard - there was some great music in the sixties and seventies - how did I miss this? It's so powerful and grabs at my heartstrings every time. I put my ear buds in and ramp up the volume and just get lost❤❤❤
It's never too late to discover great music 🎶 ❤
Have you heard them do an acoustic version live? They're incredible. kzhead.info/sun/ataIZtJsnax8YI0/bejne.htmlsi=UeUECmlEIOP6kbZm
You're kidding right? It's like saying that you didn't know who Beatles were. Lol
I think this was 84'ish...
I was born late 80's and the 80's and 90's were the best generation of rock singers. Made me a rocker together with my wife. We still dress up as rockers although we are in our 40's right now (we stay as fit as possible and keep our hair long as much as possible). They call us the rocking lovers during family gatherings lol.
the 80s big hair styles big shoulder pads big rock music cult will someone please bring it back
Shane Byrne this lot nowadays just haven't got the talent
I'm sure it will come at some point xD
Toby Gunn can't come fast enough today's music scene is crap
malcolm longfield correct mate no talent we need Old school rock music back i say bring back big hair styles and big guitar solo riffs all is forgiven
Shane Byrne YESS PLEASE 😩😩
It's terrible knowing these days are long gone, please take me back to these amazing times.
The veil on Ann's face coming and going is funny. One second it's there, 2 words later it's gone. Then it's back again! 😂 I do love this song though!
I feel like there is a direct correlation between the hair and the music. The bigger the hair the music is bigger and better. Those are some of the foundational principles of the 80’s
They don't make songs like this anymore. Todays stuff is crap
i agree
Yes, i agree. Very sexy song to fantasy about a man I'd love to get alone. Oops, TMI. Heart could really sing.
I totally agree, but bear in mind that our parents thought the same comparing this with what they use to listen to. Every generation has its own "crap" and "stuff"
I remember people saying that about music from the 70's and 60's when I was growing up in the 80's.
not true. you just have to look around a bit. there is soooo much good stuff around. just do not listen to the radio...
Dad got a crush on these sisters, now he is 59 years old and still remembers their beauty haha.
Everything blends together now
For some reason the 80's were so good musically. Never been matched.
True
Its 2010 not 1899. Duh
The reason was... people was supporting artist more than explote crap artists to generate twice the money. Today in 2020 there is the same if not even more talented people, but no one support them because the stupid music is the Viral one generating money.
@@silverbelle9855 the problem is that stupid/no sense/easy to make, Music is leadering because of the young public (without music knowledge) consuming the songs all over the apps/internet, making them constantly Number1-2-3-4-5... and that shit system leave on the bottom to the true artists.
I was a teenager in the 80’s...the 90’s grunge, alternative was a better musical decade!
April 1st 2024🤘
A versão internacional da música calcinha preta 😂😂😂
Oxe esse e original Heart e incomparável

***** HAHAHAH!
Don't get me wrong, I dig this, too, but it's not the Heart and I know love.
hahahhahahhaha
hahahaha, fucking A !!!!! +1 :D
È impossivel ouvir essa musica e não lembrar de calcinha preta😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Véi eles gravaram versão? Eu tava pensando isso agora
Makes me angry how they avoided showing too much of Ann in the video. We know why.
I don't, why?
No idea as well
*A message to the future generations: Don't let this beautiful masterpiece die!*

Tiktok destroys every masterpiece. Sadly, this one won't be an exception darling. It's just a matter of time if it's not already done but I don't know since I am not on tiktik
@kimgroslouis5587 I've never been on Tiktok. In what way do they destroy every masterpiece? Also, if YOU'VE never been on Tiktok, how do you know they destroy every masterpiece? (I'm not being a smartass, those are 2 legitimate questions)
THIS IS CALLED MUSIC . Period .Thank you to the 80s.

I have always loved HEART from when I was a young Kid and I still love them ❤😊They such beautiful Woman with beautiful powerful voices 🙂
I'm 17 and love these songs from the 70s 80s and 90s. Music in my generation is mostly trash...
jackie e agreed XD im only 16 and all i listen to is this stuff (the good stuff)
this song has been my jam since i was like two years old
Jackie e Am I weird still like Partridge Family songs. My guess because lots of Irish people.
agreed 100%
I hear ya!
Love 💕 Heart. I'm 65 years young. Growing up in the late 70's 80's and 90's. They were and always will be the best years of my life. It's a shame the experiences from back then aren't the same as they are today.❤
Totally agree my friend I'm 60, keep rocking them everyone!
You're old

As I sit here in 2023 listening to this song, I'm taken back to the late 80's and early 90's. I begin to feel all those alone feeling all over again. It's a beautiful song, and yet for me, it's bittersweet.
Next day after you I'm doing the same

What a song, in a very powerful voice she has just amazing 👌
In my youth my mother would always have several 80's power ballad mix tapes for car rides and I was into heavy metal and grunge at the time so always hated these songs and thought they were lame. Fast forward 30 odd years later and I can finally admit I love these songs, especially this one
The time when we didn’t care if the bands are men or women We just care about how good was the music
I miss those days my friend
Por dios que vos
@Anakin Skywalker exactly, it would've been a bigger problem back then anyways if it was even a problem
Who the actual fuck cares about the gender of bands members?????
Who says it's any different now?
