Players can tap Wolf Link amiibo to the Wii U GamePad controller, allowing Wolf Link to attack enemies on his own and help players to hunt. He has three hearts, unless players carry over save data from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD. Wolf Link disappears when his hearts run out.   • Ah, now I get it, Wolf Link's remaining hearts from the Vave of Shadows carries over into his health in Breath of the Wild. That's pretty cool, makes surviving the Cave of Shadows all the more necessary to survive in the wild.

    • I always wonder of the reply would be different if it was locked behind an Amiibo AND a little paywall. That way you have the people that will pay 20$ or so for the figurine gladly and also have the feature, and people who just want a Wolf Link and get it for around 1$ to 5$. However that ruins the whole multi-use thing, but considering the other uses on other games would cost around the same money... idk, just neat to think about

And turns out there are even "Fulton" Balloons that you can get/use from those Octopus Monsters that jump out of the water and shoot some sort of rock at you if you get too close, after you kill them of course and collect their remains.

  • People complaining about amiibo: 1. It's not necessary to play the game 2. It's an added bonus for people who own the amiibo (played TPHD) I get people's critiques but it just annoys me sometimes. I rationalize it as follows, may not be the same for everyone: 1. I want an economical Zelda collectible/figure 2. Amiibo are affordable 3. Amiibo has added uses 4. I purchase the amiibo as I want a cool figure and it has the added bonus of unlocking cool features in games - unnecessary but cool Should also add that a lot of games come with figures or statues as preorder bonuses. I would take an amiibo any day over a figure that does nothing. Sure my skull kid statue looks cool but the wolf link amiibo becomes a fricken companion in the new Zelda! I have many more points to make but I'll stop :p Should just quickly add that I'll definitely be against Nintendo hiding important features behind amiibo.
