(yes the sidehopping is an actual technique you can do on most server and on singleplayer you just gotta practice)

if nextbots could take damage and be killed i would already be doing that but i can't due to them having basically infinite health
@@salt-d2032 No, they do probably have health, but they do not have a hitbox for them to be hit, something that hints they might have a hitbox (even if its impossible to find) is the fact that props slow them down

the reason why nextbots are scary is because playing on small or medium sized maps while being hunted by obunga or others can be terrifying, especially since you can't even see where they come from

Everyone can outrun a chasing nextbox if they are on a giant open map, but that is BORING. On small tight maps where you don't got a whole lot of wiggle room to be circle strafing all day long and have to actually juke and run like hell, that is where it's fun (Except with Boderman, he just sucks)

the edp445 nextbot has a different pathfinder technique, he counters dodges and doesn't easily let u cross by him in short times
This alternate ai only activates if you are under 18

Paired with the Chris Hanson nextbot, their ai's will sync and have Chris chase edp across the map.

different kind of fun is to watch them absolutely just not be prepared for someone who isn't bad at gmod

Kind of missing the point of the nextbot Running from it is what makes it fun, there's always a way to break something but if you want to enjoy it there's no fun to be had when you circle strafe for an hour and a half

This is cool and all, but only if you really want to just mess around with them, because otherwise it wouldn't be as scary when running away from them. And most of these tricks generally won't work on most very small maps that nextbots are used on. (Except maybe mall parking and some others) so yeah.
if your on an enclosed map with a fast enemy that sees through walls and one shots you, you have probably chose the wrong npc to fight on that map

Whenever I've ran and got scared from this so many times gradually I got less scared. It's pretty funny. But I think the reason it gets scary it actually because the npc can make people get panicked and stressed and not know what to do.... they always build walls... always....
At this point nobody is trying to say they’re inherently terrifying anymore, it seems people just like milking the horror aspect of running away from these things knowing they can’t run forever.

The AI is really simple its easy to abuse, all the AI does is pick the shortest path to get to you and when it can't it straight up cheats by flying into you, all the moments where you see it flank is just the AI deciding that there is another path to get to you and when you see it lurking at you is because its just stuck on some level geometry or an unbreakable prop_static. Never understood what the fuss about nex bots is, back then and now. Basic Gmod/Half Life movement and basically just watching how the AI behaves is all you need to not die, good video bro, nice bhops.

@samsalaz Yeah but it’s an incredibly lazy trend that completely fills the workshop with clutter. The points made by the OP still stand since it’s a lazy trend, and it fills the workshop with clutter which makes finding mods with actual effort put into them more difficult. I say this despite loving nextbots, they’re the funniest shit in the world to me, getting chased by a flat JPEG of the Houses of Parliament with a bell tower chime cover of Feel Good Inc. By Gorillaz is hilarious, but the shit is overdone, and the chase analogy can still be made with better AI, especially the Alien Isolation Alien mod, which actually went under my radar due to the clutter of nextbots, where the Alien can climb through vents, jumpscare, check lockers, and CHASE YOU.

@@JestersWrath thank you, i remember Nextbots booming way before 2022 when lets players would spawn in Sanic or some shit and yell at the top of their lungs for views, it was looked down upon then and it filled the workshop with basic ass reskins of the same mod which was annoying as hell, but now people seem to like it as opposed to them being annoyed by it. Times are changing maybe idk maybe the time for old farts like me that got gmod for a hl2 sandbox is over haha

(And of course not holding W since that just slows you down in source games from what I recall)

When you cant hear turn a corner and get smacked it can be a jumpscare or if your backed up against a corner. Its not scary for you because youre expecting it.

What's scary about it is about outrunning it without the cheats, about the environment your on, you don't know where they are maybe you'll get jumpscared nextdoor and the bizarre image that is uncomfortable to look at but it is unsettling
I'm not cheating though this is stuff anyone can do, the movement is unmodded its just a really unknown dark dank pvp technique nobody uses called sidehopping, environment? yea that kind of helps its sorta easier to run when you know the environment, and the environment is open.

@@C_Yo he didnt noclip i believe unless you where tlaking about how he noclipped up to those areas you can just use the physgun to get up there me and him figured out side hopping and its quite easy

wheatleys parkour mod, which most people use ironically, already outruns pretty much all nextbots. plus using corridors you can slow it down due to it having to turn constantly.

Having nextbots on wide open maps kinda defeats the purpose. Try maze map. Don't use cheaty tactics, and actually use them for their intended purposes. I honestly can't tell if this is a joke or not.
