  • When my old cat was dying, he started laying on my chest like he’d never done before (though he was always affectionate). I think he was trying to say goodbye. Even though his bones were old, he still came when I called him. Love and miss him. Cats are truly special.

    • My cat died on march 23rd, 2022 and he would lay on me and my chest like you said in his final weeks. We don’t know how he died, either cancer, bone marrow disease, urinary tract infection, or anemia. He was telling me it was time for him to go. He was my best friend and it was almost his birthday 2 or three weeks later. April 11th, he would’ve made it to 10 years old. Those were the best 8 years I’ve ever had. He lived 3633 days. I love him. RIP Ace. Never forget. I love you / April 11th, 2012-March 23rd, 2022

  • I am envious of all the people who have a cat in their household that loves them. I had two Maine Coons and when they passed, I was miserable. I am a senior citizen now and would love to get a new best friend. People who have never had a cat cannot understand the love they bring.

    • You must get another cat better still get two who are company and get on well with each other. You will love and enjoy each other so much. We are seniors and are lucky enough to have 4 cats! We love them and they us. They give us routine and a structured day as well as fanbulous company - in a nutshell: never be without one 😀 no matter what age you are!

  • My cats are literally the reason I'm still here today. I've been in such a depression and, in the past year, it's gotten far worse, but any time I ever thought of or made plans to do anything to myself, thinking of my cats put a stop to it. I couldn't leave them behind without anyone to care for them. So, their presence has saved my life on numerous occasions. I've spent my entire life around cats, from having "family" cats to now having my own, and every cat has their own unique personality that you just can't help but love. It's true that cats might not be as outwardly and obviously affectionate as dogs, but it takes knowing what constitutes affection from a cat to really appreciate them when they do show it. If I go to bed earlier than usual, my oldest will come to bed (when she usually prefers sleeping in her cat bed on the floor next to my side) and sniff my face to make sure I'm feeling okay. When I'm working at my computer for extended periods of time, my middle furchild will jump onto my desk and throw herself into my arms, as if she's forcing me to take my hands off the keyboard and take a break for myself (that, and she loves being held and will fall asleep within minutes). My youngest is more bonded to my roommate than me, but even she will curl up behind my knees when we're napping and comfort me with her body heat, not to mention bring me her toys to show she wants to spend time with me. I can't imagine my life without cats in it, and even thinking about it has me wiping tears away. I wish every cat in the world felt as loved as the ones in this video do, but sadly, there are still many that think of them as pests. It breaks my heart into pieces. I've received more unconditional love from cats than any human being in my life, family or otherwise. I plan to always have cats in my life in some way. They may not slobber all over you or be overly physical with their affection like a dog would, but whatever you give them, they will repay you with tenfold throughout their entire lifetime. Please consider going to your local shelter and adopting one if you have the time, patience, means, desire, and ability to care for one. You won't regret it.

    • This is the only life we get. And it's cruel and unfair. But there is beauty to find, and I, as you, find it in my cats. Most of us who suffer from depression just need some/one/thing that doesn't judge, doesn't belittle or make you feel worse than you do, we just want love, as all humans do. And cats are magical, providing that love and more. I really do hope you stick around. I look at it like this: my life is like a book, and the last page comes when it's my time. Don't you want to see how the story ends? Light and love energy flowing your way Opalescence. 💖

  • We put our cat to rest after 18 years. I never thought I would be so emotional about losing a cat. Generally he was my wife’s and he spent most of his time cuddling with her. But about 5 years ago I was lying on the couch feeling unwell and suddenly he climbed up and sat on my chest. It was only later that I thought he must have sensed I had a heart problem because some time later I ended up in hospital and had a stent implanted. After that he was on my lap/chest every evening without fail. I would put on a particular hoody which he’d already “ruined” with his claws so he could kneed/perforate my stomach wIth his claws. I still miss the little guy.

We live on in spirit with same personality. Point is we or our cat never die. We are all spirit. Why don't they teach this truth in school? Because they keep burning the books of truth... Long live your great cat!

During all that time, my calico cat stayed in bed with me except trips for her food, water and litter box visits. She lay against my surgery site: purring, napping, playing with me. • Our cat Fluffy was 19 when she went OTRB. She had a stroke and lost the use of her back legs but was still quite alert. Just before she passed she sat up, looked at my Mum, my Dad, my brother and me, and at our dog Patch and meowed at each of us. I believe it was her way of saying goodbye to us all. Merry has been with me ten years now. She arrived as a tiny feral kitten with her mum but always wanted to be inside and she seemed to know her way around as though she had been here before. She helped my Mum and I after we lost my Dad in 2017 my coming to us if we had one of our wobbles and gave us head bumps every night at bedtime. My beloved Mum passed away in July, she was just weeks away from her 93rd birthday, and Merry has helped me by giving me so much love and is always there when I need a head bump or a cuddle. ❤😺😻❤️

Similarly, cats may generally not be as outwardly affectionate as dogs, but when you know them well, you can clearly see all the subtle ways their attachment shows. I have 3 sleeping just beside me right now, and the mere fact that they all chose the room I’m in for their nap is enough for me to appreciate how much they trust me and enjoy my company.

    • Yes!! Exactly!! Autistic people and cats are not only capable of empathy, but next-level empathy. I’m not autistic, but I have issues that keep me from being able to relate to most people. I actually understand people VERY well. The problem is that they don’t understand me. Like you, I view cats as kindred spirits. We’re very misunderstood, but still proud of who we are. My cats are _extremely_ affectionate and empathetic. One of them loves me so much that when she was younger, she’d mistake my hard laughter for crying. Every time I’d watch a comedy, she’d be by my side comforting and protecting me. 😂

    • @@clicheguevara5282 Your cat seems adorable ! ☺️ It impresses me how much better our pets often are at sensing our emotions than we are at understanding theirs. I’m prone to physical and mental health issues, and I’m convinced that my cats are aware of that to some degree. My favorite trio (once again chilling in my room as I’m typing) spend a lot more time following me around than any other member of my family. We hen I’m not feeling too well, one of them usually comes to sit in my lap or put a paw on my cheek. Almost every morning, I wake up to my biggest cat lying across my feet, the smallest one assuming loaf position on top of me, and the other one beside my pillow, sometimes purring with her paws on my arm. And their quiet company really does make me feel better.

  • I have an amazing story about our cat Molly. She was a ruthless hunter and killer of wild rats and mice and was always bringing in their mangled remains. My daughter had a tame rat called Freddie. One day, Freddie escaped from his cage and was running around the floor. Molly entered the room and we thought Freddie would be toast. But no, to everyone's astonishment, the two were playing a game, Molly never hurt Freddie and later they cuddled up together, can you believe it? Sadly they are both gone now, but I will always remember them.

If any other cat in the house caught a mouse she'd take it from them carry it into the bathroom and cuddle with it in the bathtub. Never once did she hurt them. Although any racoons or opossum that came around our backdoor looking for food quickly learned the pecking order or got mercilessly clawed to ribbons by her.

  • I went to the animal shelter to rescue cats, and in the end, they rescued me in return. I've got two adorable floofballs now and they are able to help me more concerning my anxiety and my depression than any human. It's in the way they purr, show affection and are non-judgemental when I'm having a break down or an anxiety attack or a weeping fit. No stupid, unhelpful comments, no pressure to just "get over it", no cruelty, no hate. They are just there for me with their calming presence. Cats, pets in general are able to cure what humans have destroyed in your heart and soul. I love them so much, I would always protect them, no matter what, no matter the circumstances. Since I have them, my mental health has improved so much. I got a lot less anxiety now, my attacks have subsided dramatically and I am more laid back. Life isn't just a bleak, black hole anymore.

  • Our cat Flash passed on 14 June of this year. Flash was more than what some people say "just a cat." We adopted him from a rescue shelter when he was 2 years old and he loved us from the minute we brought him home. He was my best friend here at home, always close by me, even after I was diagnosed with cancer 7 years ago. When I was going through chemo and I had to wear a chemo pump attached to my bed while I slept at home he was always by my side. Several times after the chemo I got at the hospital I had night terrors due to the chemo effects on my brain. The nightmares were the kind that you scream in your sleep but cannot wake up from them. He would come in and sit on my chest and 'putz' at my face until I woke up, even before my wife woke up to wake me up. As a hobby I sing and play guitar and record songs on my computer. Flash used to get on my computer desk while I was recording the vocals and actually climb on my shoulder and drape himself around my neck while I was trying to sing. He did that for the last time just before he passed three days later. He was the ONLY cat of 6 others that we had over the past 40 years that actually liked me playing guitar and singing. When I would play guitar he lay on one of my feet and didn't mind me gently tapping my foot in time with him gently bouncing up and down. Flash passed on 14 June 2022 after being diagnosed with chronic kidney disease (i.e. renal failure) 11 months ago. Flash was a beautiful soul and my best friend. My wife and I continue to mourn his loss every day. This video made me smile to see so many people with such loving cats. I wish all of you with your loving friends health and much happiness.

  • I actually had a friend who was extremely depressed, more depressed when I was throughout my depression and he had to move back in with his parents after having some problems with his house after his fiancé died (they were childhood sweethearts) and his parents had a cat that some would consider "fussy", he would always be independent until he met this friend of mine. After that, everything changed! The cat began walking into his bedroom and sleeping beside him, he would never ever leave his bedroom, he was so heartbroken and didn't want to get up or do anything and the cat somehow would beg him for attention. At first he was too sad to respond to the cat and would ignore him (not intentionally, he was just too depressed) and then after a month, he began coming out of that bedroom more and then gave into the cat and petted her. The cat would snuggle with him, cling to him like a magnet and refused to leave his side. Even when he was in the bathroom, she had to be there, otherwise she'd meow the house down and claw the door so he had to leave the bathroom door semi opened so she could get in and out whenever she wanted and she'd sit there and wait for him until he was finished. When he went back to work, the cat would go outside and sit on top of the bins and just wait for him until he got back. It's the most beautiful friendship I'd ever seen between a human and an animal. I don't know if he's still with his parents or if the cat is still around but I do hope they are both still happy because it seemed as though they healed each other considering he was heartbroken from grief and the cat was a rescue after being abused (previous owner apparently would ignore her and starve her so she was adopted from a shelter by my friend's parents).

He came to me and through tear filled eyes I could see him looking into my eyes...KNOWING, just knowing. I adopted another kitty from a shelter about a year later and at the time I thought he would be happy with us since I've been owned by cats for 60+ years and know 99% of their pecularities, likes and dislikes. But, Doobie, as I named him met my sons older kitty Vader and wasn't impressed. BUT...after nearly 2 years, a LOT of love and freedom to roam he's stopped walking around muttering to himself (HONEST! He muttered to himself right and left!) He's a BIG Flame Point mix, blue eyes and the softest voice you'd ever want to hear. He knows he OWNS me and I think has decided he MAY love us...no more muttering! I LOVE reading about others lives with the King and Queens of cats! But when I heard that she had FIP (Feline Infectious paratonotis) It’s was heartbreaking, she had seizures here and there, it was difficult to look at it. A month later we had to put her down, I went with my dad to the vet and I sat down in a room with Zelda. They took her to another room where they would test her. Me and my dad sat there for hours on end, waiting for her to come back to the room. Eventually they took her back to our room and I witnessed her pass away as I was in the hall holding in tears, I knew she had gone through so so much pain, and it was Devastating to see my first cat die in my hands. On the way back to my house I couldn’t hold in the tears. To this day I have 3 cats and a happy life as an 11 year old. I know this may be a long hard to read comment, but I just want to tell everyone that cats aren’t pests, they just have been treated so horribly that they sometimes turn to pests, but if you treat them nicely, I promise you they are 100 times better then dogs. Also, take 1 Hawthorne extract every two hours while you're awake with 1 pill of cayenne. Both are excellent, Hawthorne is a tonic that soothes the heart and cayenne repairs blood vessels. Make sure you get enough magnesium preferably 1gram per day, and take enough sea salt and potassium. Most are deficient in potassium. We should have at least 3 grams of it per day but most aren't even getting 1 gram. Always stretch, avoid fried foods and sugars, don't be afraid of red meats, locally grown eggs and stuff. I mix eggs in my protein shakes and they actually soothe my heart and mind. Ginger is also another good thing to take.

And it's so amazing, I don't know what I'll do without her if she dies before me. And I'm afraid of how she would be if I die before her. She kinda acts like a wild cat with other people, and even with my parents who we live with, she's not that comfortable. They say she's a little demon (but I know they still love her). With me she's an angel. She only sleeps on my laps, I'm the only one who can caress her. She really trust me with everything. Always tries to communicate with me. She would stare at me until I look back at her, and when I do she starts purring immediately. I find that so cute. I'm just so afraid if I'm not here, that she won't let other people give her the love she deserves. As I'm writing this, she's sleeping on my laps. Having her warmth and feeling her purring after a day of work, that's my favorite thing ever. I feel so priviledged that she chose me like that. Because a cat's love and trust isn't something you win easily.

He was more than my cat for the longest time. He even liked our 1st cat, too. He was a very sweet and friendly cat. He loved his belly rubs by me on my belly. I was lucky to have a cat that I treated liked a dog. I remembered having dinner late after work and he was sitting on a chair next to me with a paw on my thigh. He was a very special friend. Even when I was sick with a bad cold that he did sleep with me in between my arms. I do missed this one cat.

When this wonderful man asked me to marry him, I still had my boy. And I told this man that it was a package deal, and there was no chance of me giving up my boy. This man lost no time getting with his doctor and he was put on prescription allergy medicine. He had to be monitored by the doctor to make sure he bp remained stable. But, the 2 men in my life became good friends!! And, of course, the deal was for me to keep my boy, but, if anything happened to him, then no more cats. My husband's cat allergy is pretty serious. But, he says that, if I really want another kitty, then I can get one, but, I couldn't put him through that again. So, I now am learning to love dogs. We have 2 rescues that are learning to live with and love us. It's a rough ride, but they are both worth it. Currently, the only problem we're struggling with is night barking. If anyone out there has any suggestions, I would love to hear them. 😊

  • One cat I had several years ago. His name was TomKitty was the most loving kitty. He came to my home out of the blue as a stray. He was so poor, and in bad shape. His eyes were matted from a respiratory infection, was starved to death almost. I took him in from the cold one night…took him to the vet the next day, got the infection cleared up, and neutered and all his shots. It was like he was so grateful, and turned out to be the best house kitty. He was “the best bed partner”. LOL! He never snored, and he kept my feet warm. After a few years, he developed a cancerous tumor in his eye. I tried so much to save my TomKitty. I just couldn’t let him go. The vet was right when she told me that the tumor was dropping down in the roof of his mouth that he would not survive. Surgery was not an option for him. So to make this thread a little shorter, I had to have him put to rest. The hardest event I have ever had to do…the video is so self explanatory…”Cats Really love their humans”. Thank you for sharing it. It’s so true they love you no matter what, and show their gratitude in so many loving ways. 😻🐈

He had a marbled gray pattern and a white underbelly, a tabby, and he had the prettiest, most princely green eyes ever. He was always a vocal one, his voice never changed, he’d always chirp like he did as a kitten. My dad named him Chaos, originally after the events we found him in, but he grew into the name well lol. He passed away a few months ago, was only 3 and a half years old, it happened while I was on vacation and a friend was house watching for me, he wandered outside and never came back. My biggest regret was that I didn’t get to see him when I came back home.

  • I miss having a kitty so much. Living where I can't have one now and with a family that doesn't want one, in addition. Sometimes I forget. I was in a miserable place before this but I had my kitty and I had a yard to work in. Makes all the difference in the world.
