Sure enough the neutral safety switch was what my Odyssey needed. Most sites have the cost to replace it around $150-300 but I didn't look that up beforehand and it ran me $750 which included a standard trans service/fluid/etc.

The problem is the netural safety switch on the transmission.

I had a same problem. after I got the code. need replace 3rd clutch transmission fluid pressure switch.

Hi i have the same problems but i try almost everything and nothing good happen i have the p0816 code thats means downshift switch circuit . The d light is brinking and the chech engine light is on. The mechanic first told me is was the selenoid pressure range i changed and nothing and then he say try the 3rd and 4th gear pressure switch and nothing now i take the car to another mechanic and he say the neutral safety switch is the problem i dont know if someone here had the same problem and found the way to fixed please let me know..

Shanoya Swinton check your oil. May be low. Just a couple weeks ago I had an issue where it wouldn't go more than 20 mph and it was cuz it was low on oil. Make sure you check your fluids. And possibly spark plugs

Shanoya Swinton no problem. Just make sure you check your engine oil on level ground and before you start the car and your transmission oil when the car is running. Even aver a good drive. Just don't turn it off and check it

That's why I only go with toyota. Honda uses motorcycle designs in their car which makes it less reliable and more problems as it gets higher miles. Toyota can go 500,000 to 1 million miles with the same engine and the transmission. Hondas are ok with 4 cylinder but the 6 cylinder engines, the transmission cannot handle all that power.

I've driven 2 Toyota brands and in less than 1 year an less than 90k miles I already replace the engines. Honda engine will never dies like that, I'm driving my 3rd Honda brand now

Change the nutarul transmission switch behind the driver tire that's the exact problem from Mohammed to you
