A more dangerous and cheaper version would be a steel rod covered in lighter fluid. You could spritz burning lighter fluid on your opponent, refuel with a splash from a pouch that would probably last longer than a battery, and have the whole thing cost less than 30 dollars. You could also heat it with a blowtorch, which could also be very cheap, costing less than 20 for the ignition and 3 for propane. The temperature of both would be around 3600 F, or 2000 C.

Came back to this a year after it released and it’s still funny. This certainly got me back into wanting to do lightsaber duels and i now finally have a friend to do it with! Nah, that could work. The only problem is that you’d have to get close enough so that the electricity could be transferred. That distance could vary depending on the strength of the electronic charge and how conductive the target is. No idea is too stupid to try! It’s a great idea!

coming back after 3 years and this looks like it's cutting easier than their newest saber-pike. "4000 degree" versus this and they still take a solid 20 seconds to make a cut that this one Ian built did in about 5 seconds. Unless they're testing on harder or thicker material recently, I feel like this is still more effective somehow.
