We take great care to insure our does and bucks receive everything they need to remain healthy and productive! In this video, we take you through step by step what we use to prepare our goats for breeding season. Some of these protocols (BOSE, Copper Bolusing, Checking Famacha, etc), are used on the entire herd every 3-4 months as regular maintenance.

  • I really appreciate your efforts for making video. All i want to say, poring coper out from capsule into syringe leads the direct contact of copper into rumen layers and acidic medium in rumen can cause toxicity. The reason why copper capsule have gelatin cover on copper is to let the bolus to open after rumen into small intestine where medium is alkaline so it keeps animal safe from the toxic effects. Please.

  • When do you breed your does for the first time? Do you choose by age or weight?

    @EggersnBacon@EggersnBacon3 жыл бұрын
    • So for us it really depends on the doe. We usually lean toward breeding based on age (at least 18- 20 months old at the time of breeding) but we have had does that, although we still chose to not breed them at 12-14 months old, we would have been confident in breeding them because of their weight/skeletal maturity. It really just depends on the doe! 😊
