Wow, this video is truly eye-opening! So much valuable information shared. Speaking of which, I recently stumbled upon a book called Whispers of Manifestation on Borlest They have some fascinating techniques and advices
I've heard about that book, I'll have to read it.
Great book, my recommendation
Spoken like a genuinely caring father figure.
I am 22 and most of the time I had no father. I really needed a father figure in the years so I found that in many people - film actors, my boxing coach etc. But none of my role models were as wise as this man. Well done!
Please consider looking at the life of Jesus and all he said and did in the books Matthew, Mark, Luke and John in the Bible. To me He is actually the ideal man, not just theologically, but actually. Jesus is really a real man in the sense that he led, taught, inspired, gave without expecting things back and modeled kindness without being a wimp or a coward, yet forgave and led people to freedom - and most importantly, He laid down His life for people. He is the long awaited Hero, the real one that all things and stories point to. A read of the Bible reveals the Jesus, truly, is what true masculinity actually looks like. He is obviously God, but He also a true man. May God bless you.
@@SpeakTheTruthLouderJesus pbh is no god he is a prophet look at his actions: 1.praying to god saying "o father why has thou forsaken me" indicates he cant save himself and asks god why he didnt. 2.Jesus prayed with his head on the ground to the 1 and only god. if he was god he obviously wouldnt pray to someone else makes 0 sense. i got lots more but id like to think people here have common sense these 2 points already prove Jesus cannot be god
Same here. I also need a figure. Maybe this is the one.

I hear ya on that bro, and that fricking sucks. Most of my male family members are okay, but not great. It’s especially my dad who’s very wise. He’s 58. Keep hanging on, bro. Keep going, and I hope you nothing but success, financial stability, and more.
This is the total opposite of everything I’ve been told and believed. Thank you Robert for opening my eyes. It’s time for me to challenge some of my old beliefs now.

that some hard hitting quote
That’s a stupid quote. Power over others is… power. That sounds like some dumb beta male shit to make people feel better. Even Robert Greene would disagree with that quote.
1. Define icon/ideal of masculinity For example, Gary Cooper - Soft spoken, didn’t talk a lot, not aggressive or pushy, knew who he was, knew what he wanted, knew what was right and wrong and stood for it, didn’t assert himself, but when pushed extremely strong inside, balanced = have a sense of control of who you are - True inner strength is quiet and calm - Having extreme quality like bragging how great they are is a sign of insecurity - Don’t talk more than necessary - Let action do the talking (Your achievement) - True strength is able to take criticism 2. True masculinity has respect for women - don’t feel need to insult or push them around (Chivalrous attitude toward women) - Inner security/ confidence seductive and attractive - Ranging and panicking and yelling and angry show weakness - Sign of success is not just making a lot of money but also longevity - To become master of what you are doing - Do not have to go and grab things to prove you self, it will all come to you if you have the inner strength

The older I get (29 years) the more I realize just how crucial mental health is. I feel like, within each of us, there is this inner light that desperately wants to shine through. The light that makes us more confident, kinder, and gentler. The difficulty is figuring out how to uncover it, especially when life keeps introducing all sorts of pain to stop you in your tracks. I'm still struggling, trying to figure it out. I'm catching myself more and more whenever I get dark thoughts or think horribly about another person. "That's weak. You don't mean that. That's not the type of person you want to be." I'm on the right path, I think, but the progress is so slow.
another thing with showing that light, kindness and love being confident and gentle, is that it makes you look weak in the eyes of the evil and disturbed. And currently every second person is filled with earthly and shallow desires that can only be achieved being cunning, egoistical, drive and insane desire to out shine everyone else and to delete competition. Between your primal animal urges and being a intelligent human being, and a good heart and soul, its all being throwin into chaos. So sometimes you by accident become someone else. Being confident only is respected when you have something to offer and love yourself but also know your worth. Problem is worth is in the eye of the beholder. So showing gentle, kind, gestures and being confident seems like repulsing to them, since they have probably insecurities that they think ur trying to abuse, causing your inner light to backfire.
i relate, and there's not notice to make your light shine
Not everybody has the light, but most probably do. Just want to point out the fact that some people only have complete darkness. Feral psychoparhs
Accept pain to get what you want.
I agree with this, but I strongly dislike the concept "mental health". It's a way that our society has encouraged us to frame these issues. Mostly seems to create artificial need for "mental health professionals."
I think about this quote a lot: "Do what is right, not what is easy nor what is popular." -Roy T. Bennett

Much love Mr. Greene. I arrived in the West 5 years ago at 15, coming from an Eastern-European background. I want to extend a heartfelt thanks for the content you put out.

Thank you very much for finding an opportunity to share you wisdom with us, Robert. I wish all the best to you and your close ones. You change lives of young (and not only) men.
He’s so right about everything, as a women, for some reason it’s very easy to tell when a guy is trying to impress you; some guys overdo it, their dominance comes off as if they’re on edge, near a breakdown lol women love calm men, it feels safe. Huge difference between confidence and bragging
All of the things you mention Robert Greene were things I was naturally doing when I was in my early childhood, but then I hit my teens and these ideals were lost. I am now 21 and I am glad I found this video to remind me that of basic things like having an almost role model is important, being humble and respectful to others around you. A simple message which gets lost in the noise sometimes.
0:58 is solid gold. It's the first time I noticed the word 'virtuous' being used out in the open to describe what we as men should be striving for. Hats off to Robert for saying it out loud.
It's the same stuff I keep getting from everyone: "the only true good is virtue", which is true, but doesn't address the deep, pervasive alienation I'm immersed in. Like, sure, all I can do is to keep going, but that doesn't address that I'm expected to live in a cold, uncaring world that is constantly conspiring to destroy me, and that I have to do it completely on my own, without any respite, brotherhood or filiality. It feels disingenuous in the sense that it feels as if people are just telling me to shut up and go back to my nintendo (or back to work). As if I'm expected to be nothing but a secular, soulless golem of the industry. This is why everyone has this thousand mile stare now. I'm 33. I'm all alone in a new country where I'm a foreigner. What do I do now?
@@nullset2interesting take.
@@nullset2 I would say seek out community in this new country. Find enclaves of people who belong to your culture and try to befriend some of them. It may not work out, but as you said, you are currently alone, so any opportunity for fellowship should be seized. Regarding that, if you are religious, try speaking with the people at your preferred house of worship. Most religions are about building community and fellowship and those who are truly religious are usually quite friendly. Take risks. Talk to strangers. You never know where a conversation with someone you don’t know might go.
It's funny how anti-virtues, like blabbing your feelings openly to strangers, have replaced traditional virtues, like stoicism. It's undercurrents of Marxism.
I love you, Mr. Robert Greene :D - I was binging your interviews and podcasts yesterday and I was so relieved that your wife saved your life that day. I am so happy that you are with us today. I am tearing up as I write this. I am grateful to her as we all are, I am sure. I am reading Art of Seduction thoroughly jotting down my notes on the margins of the pages. Thank you so much for this video as there is too much noise regarding men's self-improvement. As a woman, I root for men and the fact you are seeing that young men my age (I am 1995 borne) feel directionless and are addressing it speaks volumes. Your voice in this space will bring some real sense of calm, strength and guidance to a lot of young men (and to young women like me). Please continue with your message as the role of the Patriarch is sorely lacking in our society and you are one of the few trusted figures who can occupy that position.
I mist his podcast, his wife saving his ife.
This was very much needed. Thank you Robert Greene. The way I see it, the most truly masculine man is the man who never stops and questions his masculinity. Self-confidence is self-acceptance and self-knowledge. It really all comes from within. Nothing needs to change externally for most of us.

Thank you, Robert. Truly. We need you and your words more than ever right now.
Regarding to the respect of women, I think young men should know that respect does not mean being a doormat for women. Especially in todays time, where women are not the same women 50 years ago. There are women out there that will abuse that respect and chivalry. It’s important to distinguish the difference and place boundaries when needed. Giving respect to the women who reciprocate it.
Indeed! This same statement goes for women as well!!! Respect does not mean being a format for men!!
I read a book called Models by Mark Manson. In this book, he firstly discusses a similar idea that "we lack a clear model of what an attractive man is" and then provides a similar approach, which requires knowing who you are, facing your weaknesses without being afraid to show them, and so on.
Thank you Robert for the timeless words of wisdom. Please, I'll want you to talk extensively on self analysis; how to analyze oneself and the things to look out for and how to track one self to know who/what one really is.

You are right Mr Greene. Thank you sir, God bless you man
Thank you for your work, sir. It is much appreciated.
I agree 100% with this message, especially about sustaining and maintaining your power and wealth instead of being a one-hit wonder. As a Strategist in life, this is one of the most important aspects I can think of because it doesn't matter how much resources I have today if it can all be taken away from me tomorrow. Thus, to be proactive and make decisions yesterday to create a better tomorrow is an absolute must in life, as well as having a long-term plan in terms of your job and career. Trust me on this one because I've been in the rat race for over 20 years earlier, and I've always ended up with little to nothing. I'm 38 years old and I STILL don't own my own house, so that says it all. So no matter how many great job opportunities that are out there, they simply don't concern me unless they are both sustainable now, as well as in the future. That is the ONLY way to sustain what you have at all times. Also, saving and investing your money for the long-term to achieve financial freedom is also a must that everyone should take seriously. By combining these two approaches and strategies in life, you will be MUCH better off in the long-term than to just grab whatever is right in front of you. Also, don't EVER think about having kids unless you are 100% financially stable or you will mess up your life. I've seen this happen to people throughout my whole life and they end up stuck and literally have to say YES to everything and everyone to survive, letting go of all of their personal power, freedom, and dignitiy in the process. I promised myself all my life that I would NEVER end up like a sucker like that because like Robert Greene has pointed out in his own books, humans usually don't change their behavior unless they have to. Thus, humans also "don't care" unless they have to. It's not all that black and white of course but it is much of reality. So yes, be strategic in life, make good and smart long-term decisions, and never flaunt your wealth to anyone unless you want to stirr up more hate and envy than necessary. Because believe me, that will come your way regardless whether you like it or not. Best to keep a close inner circle of trust then.
NO DISRESPECT BUT YOU CANT CONTROL ALL OF YOUR LIFE. AT SOME POINT YOU HAVE TO LET GO AND LET GOD. YOU SAID YOUR 38 AND YOU DONT OWN YOUR HOME, KEEP LIVING IT WILL HAPPEN. GOD BLESS YOU.
You still have life and your only 38, my man you have another 40 years on earth if all goes well! So owning a home is still possible if that’s your life goal just saying.
This completely opened my eyes, because if you brag about a woman you got with, it pretty much screams that you dont think you can pull or keep a girl of that value. If you don't brag about the girl, you might just be confident, and believe that you deserve her-type thing

The purpose of the education system is to kill your curiosity, stifle your creativity, and turn you into a mindless worker bee who never questions the existing power structures. It made you dislike reading, which means the system did its job correctly. But you survived it. As a result, you are stronger.
