The most famous listing on Airbnb is President Trump's childhood home, where you can stay for $800 a night, but is it worth it? Inside Edition rented the home and it was up to reporter Steven Fabian to find out if the house was as extravagant as the cost would suggest. It's located in the affluent Jamaica Estates neighborhood in Queens, N.Y., a 40-minute drive from Trump Tower in midtown Manhattan. From the outside, the house appears to be in great condition, but once inside, it's another story. #InsideEdition

  • To everyone saying “it’s an ordinary home” and that they’re overreacting, I respectfully disagree. If I’m paying $800 a night I’d expect the bare minimums, such as hot water, clean sheets, and clean appliances, just like we would expect out of any other hotel or rental.

  • I've payed $60 a night for an Airbnb and everything was clean. It's A PRIORITY to at least take the garbage out, clean up, wash the bedding, and make the bed. It's a sanitary issue if you haven't. And then let's add in the fact this is $800 a night. Pathetic and disgusting

    • I’d clean out my microwave and other appliances, all dishes clean, everything you said of course, even the garbage outside cleaned out. I’m gen z so there’s no excuse for them, and if there is (like handicap or sum) at least make it known it’s not gonna be top-notch, but then lower the price. But in this case that’s not the issue, handicap can’t excuse it

    • Exactly! Honestly, for $800 a night I’d expect a little extra. Sure it’s the “Trump” name and that’s who their hoping to reel in, but $800 a night for a home with no extra amenities (pool, view, gym, etc… ) all you're paying for is the name, it better look good and everything in working order. Of course, with the amount of bunk beds it probably sleeps 10 which would be a better way to split it. Nonetheless, an absolute rip off.

  • The cleaning company or the property management company would be the ones to blame. I have a question, for $800 a night , why is no one going out to check in between guests and stock items and check that everything works? That's a lot of money to pay to stay in a house for a night to be uncomfortable. If I were the owner of the property, I would be finding a new company to oversee it.

  • All that means is that the cleaning crew hired to clean the place didn't do their job. The issue with the water, stove & cable box, those should be addressed through AirBnB or the owner as complaints. We've had issues that arose with some AirBnBs we've rented in the past. We just let the owner know & they fixed them immediately. If you don't let the owner know, then they don't know what the fix.
