  • What’s your go to photography kit for longer/ more challenging hikes? Tripod, cameras, lenses etc?

    • It really depends on the subject. I would still take a 600 f/4.0 or the 800 f/6.3 if I knew I needed one of them for the subject. But if I don't have a specific target in mind it's the 100-400 on the Z8 with the Z9 with the 600 f/6.3 in my backpack in case I need more reach (with the 1.4x TC in a pocket). If it is a darker area, like a darker forest or Scottish winter then it's the 70-200 f/2.8 + 1.4x TC at the ready and the 400 f/4.5 in the backpack on the Z9.

  • Brilliant images! What, if any, post-processing did you perform? I'm kind of on the fence for this lens or the 600mm z PF.

  • What a beatuiful location mate I'm totally jealous from over here in the UK haha. I'm the worlds worst for decisions with my hikes, I always carry too much weight and then end up zonked by the end haha, always learning !!! I'm sure I'll get better at it as my KZhead journey continues! Some stunning shots here mate, look forward to your next video.

    • Thanks Ryan, Appreciate you connecting. Yeah I do the same, too much gear syndrome. Better to have it and not need it though haha But the UK is awesome, such a great spot to base yourself from. You can get to so many amazing places in as little as an hour.....im kinda stuck here haha But it is a good spot.

  • Great shots & setup. Also switched from Fuji (95% sure about Nikon) just wondering your thoughts about the files if they’re vastly different / easier to work with or pretty similar, how much of a bump in IQ you’re noticing, what you like better about Nikon?

  • Great Video footage on what we have to offer here in good old NZ. You have a dream kit there and the images show that, for me, my OM-1 and 300 F4 Pro with a 1.4 teleconverter does the trick. We are in Whanganui so not far to travel for some magic shots. Going to be down South in July this year for some winter magic. Cheers

  • Hi Mate ! Awesome video . How is the battery life of Z8 ? I am thinking of moving from Canon R5 to Nikon as they have more affordable wildlife lenses . Cheers

    • Have at least 3 spare batteries. Battery drains fast. Wonder if Nikon might come up with a new battery design.

    • Hey there, Battery life is better than reported from my findings. For the landscapes and wildlife I shot on this video it wasn't even a full battery... I took a power bank but didn't need it. Ill diffs be getting a another battery or two cause you never want to run out but I'm happy with how its going

  • Ive had the Z8 for 8 months and find rhe battery life is identical to my old D750. I can do a full day landscape photograph on 2 batteries

    • Thanks for the comment, Yeah I have been surprised at how good battery life is. I took a power bank but didn't use it at all.
