Top 5. Maybe top 3 but probably 4th haha
@ItsAPrimate Walter White is dead. Cancer did not kill him. Heisenberg did and took his face. Gustavo Fring is dead. The old King is dead. Long live the King.
Def my in top three eps. Possibly my most favorite.
This episode is my 2nd favorite in the show, only behind 1 episode in Season 5 you haven’t gotten to yet (I think). But everyone knows which episode I’m talking about! :D
It’s my favorite episode
I love how the most surprising moment of this episode is not gus's death, its the reveal that walt was the one who poisoned brock, the best season finale ever!
"When we do what we do for good reasons, then we've got nothing to worry about. And there's no better reason than family." - Walter White I knew Walt was a criminal who was willing to cross some lines to protect himself and his family. But poisoning an innocent kid was something I was confident he would never do, especially since he's a father of two kids. So yeah, as you said, this reveal definitely was the most surprising to me. Not just of this episode and this season, but the most surprising moment of the entire show, to me.
Yes my jaw hit the floor when I saw the plant
"what's season 5 gonna be" well, it's going to be arguably the best season of television ever made!!
season 4 solos respectfully season 5 is perfection tho
@@graytaco1002 both 10/10s
@@Hellstennn9237 real i just love gus sm
It includes the best episode of tv (you’ll know when you watch it) 😊
Up there with better call Saul season 6
Despite the fact that Hector doesn't say a single word you can still hear the "Gotcha mf" in THAT scene. Superb TV.
"Gotcha b!tch!"
That scene where Gus talks to Hector for the last time is brilliantly done, their facial expressions tell you exactly how they're both feeling without even needing more in depth dialogue.
Gus had been always calm until that very last moment of him. His scream got me...
The second half of season 4 is the best run of episodes in tv history
Second half of season 5
Breaking bad is good but it isn't that good compared to some other shows. (My opinion).
@@Aaron_Sallowaywhat other shows you like more?
Second half of season 5, and also Episodes 13-20 of Book 2 of AtLA.
@@bigmeaty_custard4572 In my opinion I think 'Attack on Titan' and 'Vikings' are perfection. In terms of movies 'I want to eat your pancreas' is also a personal favourite of mine. It is the only movie to ever make me cry (I don't cry often). (In my opinion).
If you remember when Walt was spinning the gun, on the third spin it pointed towards the plant. Walts planning and mental manipulation is insane
My jaw was on the floor. Like that is some godlike writing. WOW!
When I first watched this episode I thought it was a great end if this was the show finale. And then season 5 slapped me on the face.
The end of season 4 was the best season ending ever... until the end of season 5 aired 2 years later
I forget which episode it is exactly, but if you go back a bit, the scene where Walt is spinning his revolver on the table in his backyard after Saul called the DEA, the gun keeps pointing at him every time he spins it, but the final time the gun actually points to the Lily of the Valley which is when he got the idea.
I always saw it like Walt had already had the idea, and that's why he was sitting next to the plant with the gun. Like he went out there to just spin the revolver once and whatever fate decided would be that...but when fate said "It needs to be you", Walt would be like "Play again."
@@jessesisson2955 that's interesting. I'm sure there's a lot to break down for that scene in general. My first thought is, if he were just playing spin the bottle between him and the plant, there's a lot of space between the two of them that the gun could point to; you wouldn't use a roulette wheel to choose between two numbers, you'd just flip a coin. From a writing perspective, though, I think it would be more impactful if he only thinks of the plan after seeing the gun point to the plant. If he's just spinning the gun idly, not expecting it to point to anything in particular, and it keeps pointing directly at him, I think that moment lands much more heavily for me as a viewer. The fact that the one time it doesn't point at him, it does point to the thing that saves him works as a metaphor; he keeps playing and getting bit in the ass but he finally manufactures his own solution with what's in front of him. Also keeping in mind that the audience doesn't know any of this at the time. I think this plays more to the desperation and uncertainty he's feeling in the moment, whereas if he were just trying to make a decision, that scene is more about his inner moral conflict, which changes the context of the scene a lot on rewatch instead of letting it act as a foreshadowing easter egg of sorts. Plus after all the chaos with Saul, the DEA, Skylar, and the money, I just don't think that's where Walt's head would've been at in that moment, unless we want to speculate that he had always had the plan to poison Brock in his pocket. that honestly turned out a lot longer than I anticipated, but just a few thoughts.
One of those things that seem so obvious and almost like a spoiler in retrospect but I sure didn't pick up on it and I've never seen anyone else do either
Definitely one of the best seasons of Television ever. Can't believe you're already to the final season
This is such an iconic episode! Definitely in my top 3 for breaking bad! We're getting so close to the end, glad I could re-watch this through you, Primate. Who's your fave character been? EDIT: also glad you're calling Tyrus by his name & not new Victor anymore 😂
It’s my personal favorite
Remember when we all liked Walt and felt sorry for him...those were the good ol' days 😂. What an epic, well titled finale! I love when they show Walt going into see Hector, the camera sits on the photo of young Hector with Tuco and the cousins! So much ended here, but so much more to come...enjoy the best ending of any show!
Dude I’ve seen people react to this and predict Walt having poisoned Brock, but I think you’re the first to predict Gus’s death perfectly.
Well, I just came off of James vs. Cinema's reaction and yeah, he predicted Gus's death too.
Great villain/character, cool death and just an awesome series overall. Loved the reaction too.
The episode was written in a way that it could be the series finale, because it hadn't been picked up for season 5 yet. But it was always Vince's intention for there to be 5.
The pure hate, building up on Salamanca's face, sets the vibe for the entire fantastic ending! It's so adrenaline-packed. 🥂
Mark Margolis does more with just his face than some actors can with their entire bodies.
@@taneshah.1260 Mark Margolis is far too underrated as an actor, one of the best actors when it comes to physically showing emotions guy don’t even have to say a word at all
Breaking bad is indeed a cinematic masterpiece
Walt IS a genius. Horrible - absolutely, but a damn GENIUS at it
This is one of the best season finales in TV history. Yet season 5 somehow raises the stakes even higher, I can't wait to see your reaction to how the aftermath Gus' death creates absolute chaos as different players emerge to fill the void he left.
That face you made when realizing he had the Lily of the Valley read of shock and betrayal like you couldn’t comprehend 😂 love this show
Season 4 is my personal favorite because of the whole Walt vs Gus arc
When you see episodes like these last on season 4 it’s hard to believe this show isn’t at it’s peak yet
If you rewatch one of the last episodes, the one where Walt spins the gun in his backyard, on the last time he spins it, the gun points to the plant he used to poison Brock
im loving the breaking bad reactions, also 15:23 LMAO
One of the best villains ever gets blown up, the legendary lab's destroyed, Walt utters that immortal one-liner... and the most remarkable shock stems from the camera panning to a pot of flowers. That's how brilliant this programme is!
When you cut a chickens head off, they move around like it's nothing. Gus is that chicken.
Season 4, Episode 13 is probably my favorite eposode of all time! What an insane rollercoaster ride! It's always fun to watch people react to it for the first time.
The Greatest Writing Team of All Time🐐
This ep has such a great but overshadowed scene: the destruction of the lab. The way W + J are perfectly in sync plus the fire 🔥
Ole Gus had to straighten that tie one last time. He’s absolutely ruthless but damn was he a genius as far as distribution goes!
This reaction waiting felt like a whole month lmao.. FINALLY
Still my favorite episode of television ever I don't think it will ever be dethroned
This show has so many iconic moments man
This is the moment in the show when almost everyone starts bowing down and admitting it’s the greatest shit ever😂 So cool seeing you put the pieces together throughout the episode and your complete shock even though you figured out exactly what would happen. I’m BEGGING you to upload twice a week for S5, at least after the midseason finale. There’s a couple episodes with such a massive cliffhanger between them that it feels like a double length episode, you’d be robbing yourself of the best experience possible by not watching them back to back.
fun fact, the guys who did Gus' explosove make up were the make up people from the walking dead. they know how to do that stuff :D
The music playing in the background of the "Gus final walk" scene is, also, the opening theme for the "Dark" series. One of the greatest series of all time (dark) paying an homage to the goat series (BrBa)
We can all agree that just in general poisoning a kid is not a good thing to do. We do see that Walter didn't want him to die but he was willing to risk it for himself and his family. The specifiks of how Walter poisoned Brock arent as bad as you usualy think but just the fact that he did it is enough to question what else he is capabel of. Of course at this point Gus had to go he made it clear that no matter what he was going to put Hank in the ground and if he belived that Walter would try to stop him he would waste his entire family and considering what he did to Victor who was basically loyal for probably awhile we know he would do it.
"Walt did it. Walt did it. Walt did it." Yep
I remember watching these last couple seasons live on cable TV. A year between seasons, week between episodes, it was something special.
The ending is powerful because it reveals that Walt is the true big villain
"true big villain" like you all ar3 so funny like gus was still the worst person in the show alongside most cartel people. just because we didn't see every little detail of the awful things they did doesn't make them less awful. gus has been doing this for 20 years like trust me he did worse stuff in that time than walter in 2 years. yes walter turns into a horrible person but he still by far not the worse in the brba universe
WTF are u talking about?
Now from Season 5, you're not going to see Walter White anymore. It's only going to be Heisenberg. Even at home. Do notice the way he talks around even at his home.
Liked how they showed the flower lily of the valley in the scene where Walt is spinning the gun and it lands on the plant.
Possibly the best episode of anything on TV, ever.
The best is still yet to come
As much as I love season 5, and it was certainly necessary, if the show ended after this episode I wouldn't be disappointed in the slightest
I know we can only say it with the benefit of hindsight, but if it really did end at Season 4 and we didn't get the last 2 episodes of S5 or El Camino (maybe BCS would have happened regardless) I think that the show might not have reached it's full potential to wrap everything up.
Walter was spinning the gun and the gun landed on the flower and that how he came up with the idea.
Watching these reactions is like waiting for new episodes of the show in 2011. Thank you dawg 😂 never quit.
Thanks man!
One of the best Episodes of TV i have EVER SEEN.
Gus Actor is Giancarlo Esposito and he is also great in a Show called "Godfather of Harlem" also a fantastic Show you should watch.
Walt is playing chess to everyone else's checkers.
When walt was turning the gun on the table the last time pointed to the plant
Season 5 is probably the greatest season of any show ever created.
It's such a weird thing to live in Albuquerque and watch this show. Hell, that scene in the beginning, where they're in the hospital talking about the bomb, I've spent so much time in that hospital (UNM Hospital). As a patient, a visitor, and _I've even worked in that hospital._ It's practically a secnd home.
RIP MARK MARGOLIS 🛎🛎🛎🛎🛎
Gus's scream when he figured it out scares me everytime, I CAN'T IMAGINE
11:04 that meme 😂 Man you always seem to figure things out ahead of time
bro your reactions are very observant and on point. with that kid edit i was dead
season 5 is crazy good 🔥
We're in the endgame now folks. As much as I love season 4, I think season 5 is the best season.
After Breaking Bad, we need some Sons Of Anarchy!
Sometimes season 4 is my favorite sometimes season 5, sometimes season 3 or 2 or 1... This show pure perfection everytime
I love that you are almost exactly one season ahead of James Vs. Cinema with the KZhead reactions! He just finished the episode with Hank and the Twins!
“WHAT DID I JUST WATCH?!” each and one of us watching that scene bro 😂
The flower reveal at the end makes my jaw drop everytime 🤌
You guys should react to The Crow (1994) starring Brandon Lee, he is Bruce Lee son. Brandon Lee tragically got shot on the set of the movie due to a prop gun with a piece of left over blank bullet residue, the crew thought Brandon was playing joke when scene was over and when he was laying on the floor he wasn’t moving but when they got closer they saw it was serious and rushed Brandon Lee to the hospital, the doctors did everything they could but it was too late Brandon Lee passed away at the age of 28. Some scenes aren’t Brandon it’s his body double Chad Stahelski, Chad is the director of the John Wick franchise. The director of The Crow Alex Proyas had too cut and add new scenes for the movie because of happened to Brandon. They also CGI Brandon Lee face on too Chad face and the makeup artist made a face mask of Brandon face for chad to wear. All scenes were they don’t show Brandon Lee face it’s Chad Brandon was supposed get married to his fiancée Eliza Hutton after The Crow finished filming. After Brandon was supposed to get married Brandon was going to a sign a two-year deal to continue The Crow storyline. The Crow is comic book/graphic novel created by James O'Barr. Before entering the Marines, O'Barr's fiancée Beverly had been killed by a drunk driver. While living in Berlin in 1981, O'Barr began work on his comic The Crow as a means of dealing with his personal tragedy. O'Barr was further inspired by a Detroit newspaper account of the murder of a young couple over a $20 engagement ring. In The Crow, the protagonist, Eric and his fiancée Shelly are murdered by a gang of criminals. Eric then returns from the dead guided by a supernatural crow, to hunt their killers. After his discharge from the Marines O'Barr continued his painting and illustration as well as doing various odd jobs. The Crow sat on a shelf for seven years but at last he found a publisher with Gary Reed of Caliber Press. The first miniseries was published in 1989. The Crow has since sold more than 750,000 copies worldwide. This movie has the best soundtrack of all time according to Rolling Stones magazine, Revolver Magazine etc. and the movie score is amazing as well.
A horrible person yes, but the absolute 4D mind chess he was playing on everyone was beautifully executed
Fun fact, since AMC had access to both shows at the time, they used The Walking Dead's VFX team to do up Gus like that at the end.
Gus is such a badass he just had to fix his tie before he dies xD
Fun fact: Walt's neighbor is Vince Gilligan's mom😊
You mentioned that the bell sounded different and that blew my mind. I never noticed that before. It’s obviously not likely to ring perfectly if it’s rigged to a pipe bomb. It’s muffled, as if the interior of the bell had wiring in it.
You should checkout the behind the scenes for Gus’ death, very cool how they created the whole thing.
Season 5 one of the most emotionally charged set of episodes I've ever seen.
Gus went out like a G. Bro literally became Two-Face & still had to fix his tie before he went out. One of the best villains ever. 💀
Yeah, it's Harvey Two-Face. Now for the final season of Breaking Bad.
The more Walt started shifting into Heisenberg, I assumed this show was gonna be a villain origin story like 2019 Joker. This finale completely solidified that. I actually love seeing these types of protagonists. I hope the MCU does something similar with Doctor Doom whenever he’s introduced. He at least should get his own “Books of Doom” mini-series before he transitions into the next big bad. They made Thanos the main character of Infinity War. Doom deserves that treatment.
The lily of the valley reveal is so excellent
I have been rewatching Breaking Bad and watched the season 4 finale today, and everything seemed logical and it was a brilliant episode. One thing had me wondering though. In the previous epidode, Gus showed and demonstrated such awareness and being on high alert that he abandoned his car. His being lulled to the nursing home whilst he was on high alert seems slightly inconsistent, even though he took what he believed to be sufficient precautions.
Great reaction. You're in for a ride with this next season!
Well we certainly can say Gus had his "face off"
Fun fact they had the makeup artist from the walking dead to make the half blown up face of gus and it shows that gus was a 2 face the side blown up was gus fring drug lord and the half of his face that was there when he walked out of the room adjusting his tie was gustavo fring business man.
I know what he means by “ end of an era “ but it’s okay YOU STILL HAVE AO MUCH TO WATCH “gladly” between el Camino and BCS
Gus's death scene will always go down in history as one of the greatest death scenes in history. I remember being truly shocked when I saw it.
A couple days before the series finale aired on television, I went to see a panel discussion with Vince Gilligan (creator of Breaking Bad) for the Vancouver Film Festival. Before the interview for the panel started, they played this episode on a big screen on stage for the whole audience. Watching this episode with a big crowd was such a great experience. And then getting to hear Vince talk about the show at length right after was fascinating to listen to as well.
It's so easy to feel for Gus cause you always get these hints and flashbacks that he is still human. He had a heart, he had love, he had emotion, and it all froze up with the reality of his work. You gotta become a monster to stay alive or another monster will end you. That's what he did to Don Eladio, and now... it's what Walt did to him. Walt won, but he had to lie, manipulate, kill, and hurt and innocent child to do so. Both Gus and Hector saw family and/or friends brutaly taken away from them. They died hating each other and wanting to kill each other. At that point it wasn't about business for any of them, just revenge. This is my favorite season of the whole show. I have some issues with S5 personally but it's got some of the best episodes of the series within it and reaches level of darkness so far it will make the first two seasons feel like a different show entirely. Cause now we've seen what it means to be at the top and now it's Walt's turn.
What a phenomenal send-off to our boy Gustavo Fring. I'm so happy you got to see this and I wish I could experience this for the first time all over again! We are in for a wild ride coming up though...
The bomb getting stuck to the elevator lol still has the comedy lol
LMFAO!!!! It's Primate's face when he realized Walt actually did it. You remember how you felt about Walt from season 1? How do you feel about him now?
😂
I’m going to say to my kids that I was there for this reaction
😂
I love your denial of it being Walt and not even considering it
This is why Gus didn't take his car at the end of the last episode. Brock was poisoned but Gus knew he didn't do it... Walt doing it was the only thing that made sense. And he left his car unguarded, it wouldn't be safe. That's also why he had Jesse kidnapped as soon as the police released him. If Hector hadn't distracted him, he would have told Jesse.
I know what’s coming, gonna wait two hours to watch this when I’m off work. Sooooo much hype lmfao
😂
The moment Gus prioritize his feelings towards Hector more than this rational decisions, was the moment he looses with Walt. Tyrus told him that he should do it and he didn´t listen. Amazing Character from the show. Seems like the show finale, but season 5 is the better of all
It is incredible how you can be so perfectly right about one thing, and so completely wrong about another.
😂
That’s a interesting attention to detail that you noticed the bell sounded different. Never noticed or thought about it
*an Couldn’t let that go 😅
Yup, muted sounding.
It's also interesting that the bomb doesn't go off immediately like you would expect. It takes a few dings, which was foreshadowed in the previous episode when Walt was testing the remote detonator and had some trouble setting it off. And of course it was all done for the dramatic effect of having Gus realise what was happening.
The moment Walt sold his soul
When I first saw Gus walk out for a second I thought he was okay and then I saw the horrified look on the nurse's face and knew that he only looked okay from his left profile. When he straightened his tie it reminded me of Kill Bill when Bill knew he was dead but wanted to know how he looked.
Shame. We're not gonna hear Tyrus's iconic voice anymore 😂
You have no idea how happy I just was when I saw this upload
:)
@@ItsAPrimatee I love your vids man, they're actually one of the few things I look forward to in life :)
One of the best episodes of tv history fr
Gus sure went out with a bang
