    • Yeah, Magnus and Alex Hannold are prime climbers because not only climbing makes you humble, (maybe they were humble before as well) makes you slow and think while the strength in your muscles don't wear out, take your time and breathe so the oxygen reaches the burning feeling in muscles so you don't feel the burning anymore. So his endurance is insane compared to normal people, and you take your time to think while your muscles are in lock. For us it'd be burning and we'd need to quit, then later gets sore. (also why his muscles aren't nearly as sore.)

  • Y'all should do an episode about RECOVERY. DOMS and tendon pain are real barriers for people.

    @AshtonCoolman@AshtonCoolman5 жыл бұрын
    • Problem with tendonitis is that it's an overuse of the structure; basically your body saying: ''Hey, you need to slow down a bit so I can heal properly.'' It's a fairly annoying condition since tendons don't really have good blood flow. My advice would be to keep using the tendon, but within your pain borders. Cycling or swimming are great additional exercises to keep the tendon in use. Furthermore you can use frictions to stimulate blood flow or massage the muscle attached to it. Lastly, if the pain allows it, eccentric exercises are very good to train the specific tendon on traction and overall strength. I'd advice visiting your PT for the best advice if it's really bad in Tom's case. I don't understand why he would even try to climb that wall if it already was that bad. Respecting your own boundaries is very important in this case, and with a condition like tendonitis, it's just going to take time to heal properly.

      @sumtingwong5109@sumtingwong51095 жыл бұрын
    • @@ggoldman43 In this case with frictions I mean 'massaging' the specific tendon so you stimulate the blood-flow. That in turn makes sure the tendon heals faster because you help out the fibroblast cells with the necessary substances they need to repair the tissue in question. I put massaging in apostrophes there because it looks like massaging, but it's not. You're more so triggering the structure within a pain-border, but it isn't exactly pleasant for most, if not all, patients.

Sure you can be quote on quote at the top for all of what a year maybe two and then your body completely fails you because you didn't take care of it. • Tendinitis tip: I'm a climber myself and had problems with extreme arm pain for years. For me taping my arm would help a lot, there are special ways of taping for tendinitis which you should try. Try locating the pain, is it on the inside or the outside of your arm. There are great tutorials on KZhead, I recommend trying it. Also, leave the tape on your arm and change it every 5 days, but as a small hint, shave your arms before, otherwise it will hurt. This way I lost all pain in a month, even while still climbing and training on my maximum level. Hopefully you'll recover fast.
