The Electoral College was a good idea when there were only 13 colonies. Kind of like the 2nd Amendment was a good idea when there were only muskets.
Universal suffrage does not work; instead, a voting permit should be created. Like convicted felons who can't vote. If you do not meet certain criteria, you should not vote. For example, IQ must be taken into account in order to avoid idiocracy. Voting is not an innate right, we invented it, like politics. So we can fix that.

ALSO - in the PA primary, there were 200,000 MORE votes for Biden than there were for trump. That many more people showed up for Biden. That's saying something too.
Good news, but unfortunately, the percentage of Democrats that didn't vote for Biden in PA isn't much less than Trump.

I am not an American and I don't live in America. I acknowledge that it is entirely the business of American voters to choose their leader. But I also want voters to think very carefully about how they vote this time around. It is hugely consequential for America and the world. America is still the largest economy in the world and has the most powerful military the world has ever seen. The world geo-political order is now more uncertain than it has been since the end of the Cold War. China is becoming more powerful and assertive. Putin cannot be allowed to capture Ukraine. The earth is warming faster than ever before. In those circumstances do you want a leader who would pull you out of NATO, stop aid to Ukraine and deny that global warming exists? Do you want Donald Trump sitting across the table negotiating with Putin or the Chinese president? Please, please get out to vote. It matters.

I’m a Pennsylvania Republican and never-Trumper from the outset. I had several other commitments yesterday and did not go out to vote for Haley in an already decided primary, although it was my instinct to do so. I can tell you that I’ll definitely be at my polling place in November to vote for Biden. For me, the “I’m not Trump” plank is the strongest element in anyone’s political platform.

I'm a life long Republican voter in NC, who has never previously wavered. I voted for Trump in 2016 _and_ 2020, but I will be voting for Biden in 2024. And FWIW I voted for Nikki Haley in the primary, though she was still in the race at the time of the NC primary.

The hearing was this past Monday. As I understand an agreement was made with some changes and the bond was guaranteed. No trump assets will be seized

There was a problem with his bonding company. Basically after the appellate court gave him a lucky break they'd never give anyone else he tried to con them with a bond from a company that doesn't actually have the money to pay the bond
The subprime car loan guy was forced to put actual money into the surety account. The judge is now satisfied that NYS will get the money if Donnie fails to pay up when he loses his appeal.
Note he STILL hasn't made the reduced bond in NY and the 10 days passed 20 days ago

Absolutely. This cannot be stressed enough and cannot be repeated often enough. Trump's federal court (circuit court picks) aren't going away. They'll be making sure Trump stays out of prison. How do we get rid of them ? We put Joe Biden in office again and we put Democrats in Congress, we put Democrats in the the Senate and we put Democrats into the Governor's seats in every state. That's how we clear out the refuse and the viruses that Trump left behind, and that'll erode Democracy if they get the chance - and they WILL get the chance. We wanna get votes on Supreme Court and Federal Court Judge TERM LIMITS. We get them by voting Democrat down ballot. Congress. Senate. Governors races. Vote Democrat in every single one.

Good story. Doesn't answer the question of why the American government isn't asking Donald Trump for transparency regarding his finances though. If he wants to occupy the position at the top of the country, he should be willing to let the government open his books and see exactly what he has where and, if he's unwilling to do that, he shouldn't be allowed to hold that position.

Unlike most die-hard MAGA states, the Republicans in Pennsylvania are a fairly well educated lot. By and large, they're not going to fall for the buffoonery that sells rally tickets and raises campaign cash in other red states. The midterm election of both Josh Shapiro and John Fetterman showed that. It was a solid repudiation of Trumpism on the ballot in the other candidates.
I’m a PA Republican, who has never voted for Trump. I grew up close enough to NYC that I knew about him from the news as a kid. I had a vibe that he was a spoiled brat. I spent a career in Mental Health, so his personality disorder, Narcissistic and Sociopathic traits are significantly disturbing to me as a voter, plus I know how hard it is for a DA’s office is to prosecute suspects, they need to have overwhelming amounts of evidence in order to prosecute someone. I was a John McCain supporter and knew that he and Joe Biden sat directly across the isle from each other and as leaders, worked together in order to get things accomplished. I miss John McCain, may he rest in peace. It seems like one of the biggest reasons that Trump is running is to avoid legal consequences rather than wanting to improve the USA. Trump scares me and I have zero respect and trust for him. We need to overhaul my Republican Party. I also believe that the Supreme Court justices who were appointed by Trump should recuse themselves from any cases that they have with him. Our founding fathers thought they put a system in place that keeps all three branches of government accountable to the other branches and the people. For the Trump appointees to be involved in any of his cases is a pretty clear case of conflict of interests. We have fought in the Second World War in order to avoid being subjugated by Dictators and I believe that Trump is trying to do the same thing that Hitler did. To me, Trump is trying to destroy our country the same way he destroyed his businesses. I implore my fellow citizens to vote against him. He needs to be accountable for trying to overthrow our democracy. If you saw the TV coverage, it’s compelling evidence of his destructive behavior to our democracy and nation.

Mr. Steele, as a former MD resident, I am proud of the fact that you and also former Gov. Hogan thought enough of the MD citizens to work for them (us) so effectively in your terms as leading politicians in that state. *To be sure, Bernie Sanders got 18% of the vote in 2020 running against Biden in PA, and this was not a disastrous news for Biden.* I daresay that I do suspect that some of those Nikki Haley voters are Never-Trump, but the Sanders voters were not Never-Biden. Biden still is often trailing Trump in the polls in tossup states; Trump getting convicted is still enormously important.
Well it wasn't disastrous because Sanders then endorsed Biden for president. I don't know if Nikki Haley has that luxury here, since her voters would likely be mad if she did that. She's not Ted Cruz or Marco Rubio or even Chris Sununu. I think she loses more credibility if she endorses Trump now, with her voters. They don't like Trump and most have basically decided that they won't vote for him in November. So, as Mr. Steele suggests, there is an opportunity for Biden to pick up some of those people. Many not a lot of them, but perhaps enough to make some difference in a state like Pennsylvania.
Sanders was still an active candidate when that happened. A vote for Hailey is a pure protest vote. So 18% is way high.

The president is not the only office on a primary ballot. Voters did not just stand in line to vote for Nikki Haley. The odds were that they were there to nominate their choice for who they want to represent them in a down ballot race, and voted for Nikki Haley because they were already there. However this is not good for Trump. The most likely thing that they will do is vote for the Congressman of their choice and leave the vote for president blank. This is what I do when I don't like the Democrat on the ticket. I won't vote for them, but I also won't vote for the Republican. There is no other way to put this but this is bad for Trump in a state that is critical for him to win. This is also bad for the red KZhead channels that predict Trump will take Pennsylvania by five points. Trump may take Pennsylvania, but not by five points. That is just delusional. They should stop smoking whatever they are smoking, it is making them delusional.

I was One of them, in Pennsylvania if you are a registered Republican or Democrat they give you paperwork for only that party, I asked to get Democrat paperwork but they said no, during state votes you get who your registered for. So on the whole form i only voted for Haley and no one else. In November I'm voting for president Biden and straight blue ticket. I'm a disabled veteran and trump saying we were suckers and loser's he can kiss my behind.
