I remember when I started to understand music, it taught me that it was not only mathematics but it was the ultimate universal language that speaks to people from all walks of life.
And it certainly is! 👌🏻
One of the clearest and easy to understand explanations of Euclidean rhythms I've head to date.
Appreciate it! 🙌🏻
This is so useful, Will. Thanks for sharing this! 🙌
You’re very welcome! Glad you enjoyed :)
This is amazing! Great simple explanation and walkthrough! Will be using this a lot haha
Glad it was helpful! 🙌🏻
It's rare to find a video that you can watch without skipping the boring bits! Liked, subscribed!
Fantastic tutorial Will, thank you 🙏🏻
You're welcome, glad you liked it! 🙂
What a great video. That was fascinating. I'm now off to watch the other video you mentioned too.
Awesome, hope you enjoy! 🙂 Thanks for weathering and supporting the channel!
Will, Darling! Great inspiring vid, as usual. Will def check out this method!
Go for it, jammadamma, and let me know how it goes! 😎
I love my euclidian sequencer. You explained it excellent.
Thank you!
For someone who claims not to be good at math you did better than most math professors. You’re just a modest king. Keep it up!
Appreciate it...Thanks for watching and supporting the channel!
Great video, very informative and on a fantastic subject.
Thank you, I am glad it was helpful! Anything else you'd like me to cover on the channel?
Great tip and good explanation of that topic. As I saw the circle representation it remembered me at the advanced fill tool in FL Studio which I didn't really use so far. And surprise: It also has an euclidian fill type option. Will try that in the future.
Thanks for watching! Glad you found it insightful :)
Great tutorial Will!!
Thanks Pavan!
Thanks! I will definitely try!
Go for it! 🙂
Cheers for this information squire,as per, easy & concise
You're welcome, glad it was helpful! 🙌🏻
Wow, nothing less than brilliant Will ♥

The tune playing in the beginning is super beautiful too.
Thank you, glad you liked it! 🙂
Hey Will, you absolutely nailed that mate, even I understood it!! Cheers buddy :)
You're welcome, glad you found it useful! 🙂🙌🏻
Love this. You can make a full song just playing around with it
Appreciate it! 🙌🙏 Thank you for watching and supporting the channel!
Nice Tip!! 👊🏼
Glad you liked it! 🙌🏻
Great stuff as usual! ,and may you please not forget to make a video of how to mix risers, noises uplifters and downlifters..Thanks a lot bro.
Great suggestion! Let's see how many people are interested in it :)
Excellent presentation, thank you. Avant Gardists have been using this for decades, thanks for explaining it to the masses.
You're welcome, William, I am glad you found this helpful! 🙂🙌🏻
@@EDMTips Yes, very much so !
Once again - JUST GREAT! That's exactly what I am looking for in my music. Tried to get close to that using the combination of an arp and a delay (1/8 dot), but Your approach is much more flexible and sounds much cleaner... Needed that just today, thank You so much... ulf from Your accelerator program!
You're welcome, Ulf, I am glad you found it helpful! Look forward to hearing it in your track 😎
great explanation of euclidian rhytms
Thanks, glad you liked it! 🙂
Yeah !!Love it 😍

So inspirational bro ❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥great video

very helpful :) thanks a lot 🙏💥
You’re welcome!
@@EDMTips I have actually bought this seq straight away and already apllied to my new project . GAME CHANGER !! Thanks again 🙏💥🔥
Another top video great content yet again
Thanks, Tom, glad you enjoyed it! 🙌🏻
Thanks, that is very nice to know
Really glad you liked it! Anything else in particular you’re struggling with?
Good stuff Will.
Cheers, I am glad you enjoyed it! 🙂
Awesome tutorial again Will! And now you can even teach maths 😉 Thanks!
Math I shall not teach! 🧙♂️ But thanks for the kind words of support, I really appreciate it! 🙂🙌🏻
Nice explanation of Euclidean Maths
Thanks, glad you liked it! 🙂🙌🏻
Excellent explanation, Will! I must admit, as a modular user, I find all my Euclidean patterns by accident using free running LFOs, clock dividers, mixed Gates/trigs and the like. Sure, they sell Euclidean specific modules, but when you stumble on a groove by accident it's quite a nice feeling and you better hit record quick.
I see what you're saying. Nothing like stumbling upon. goldmine by accident..
That's a great little plugin. Will certainly be using that in the future.
Glad I could help! 🙌🏻
Nice explanation. I love playing with mine and have several. Falcon has several inbuilt now.
Thank you! Which ones are your favourite?
@@EDMTips The HY-plugins series and Falcon's., but it's early days and sometimes another plugin grows on you over time. All fun though.
@@johnrun712 Cheers for sharing :)
@@johnrun712 Totally agree! I will check those out, thanks :)
Btw this was very helpful, thanks for sharing this info.!
Glad it was helpful! 🙌🏻
Very interesting, thanks !
You’re welcome!
I'm addicted to the 6 or 12 step arp on a basic 4/4. Certainly with bass. Then another synth arp at a different resolution.
Great choice, love it! 👍🏻
Love this idea! Reminds me of some of the sounds used in George Michael's "White Light" (2012).
I'll check it out! Glad you found it helpful 🙌🏻
thanks bro
You're welcome, glad you found it helpful! 🙂🙌🏻
sounds like classic trance at the end👌
😎
Fire... Love it. High 🖐️
Appreciate it! 🙌🙏
I love to hate you - Erasure. A really good example of a popular song using Euclidian Sequencing. Thanks for the lesson
Thanks for watching and a great example!
Wow I'm just imagining the amount of fills I could make with this device , I'm geeked up🤓😂🔥
Nice! Try it in your next track and let me know how out goes :)
Killer lesson
Wonderful! Glad you liked it! 🙌🏻
Dude this is so cool! I am a new producer that spent a lot of time listening to Psychedelic Rock and hope to bring that influence into my sound. One of my favourite bands King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard uses stuff like polyrhythms, interesting time signatures & microtonal tuning to create an amazing vibe, this tool will be perfect for adding some of that spice to my own sound! Thank you for sharing!
You're welcome, Zakk, I am glad it was helpful! Anything else you're struggling with and would like me to cover?
@@EDMTips Honestly the only thing that I can think of is, Have you got any tips & techniques for experimenting with combining/blending/transitioning between elements of different genres in a single track, in a way that sounds interesting but still remains coheisive. You've answered so many of my questions with your videos already, I really appreaciate you putting out such high quality information!
thx ✌🔥😊
You're welcome! 🙌🏻
I think people have already been doing this subconsciously manually when creating rhythms but, great video info and Maxforlife plugin really helps.-thx-cheers!
You’re welcome! Glad you enjoyed it 🙂🙌🏻
Nice video and plugin. Better get saving my Euros. Amen brother
Appreciate it! 🙌🏻 Thank you for watching and supporting the channel :)
And a new genre is born. Euclidean House?
Do you think it's gonna take off? 😂
@@EDMTips hell, yeah!
Very interesting thank you
You’re welcome! Thanks for watching
Any continuations??? ❤
Haven't gotten around it just yet!
Great Tutorial! Thank you. Can you suggest any free plug that does the same job as EUCLIDIAN pro? my abelton is old and I don't have EUCLIDIAN :)
Glad you enjoyed it! I'd literally Google it, there are plenty of plugins that have similar functionality :)
Lovely ❤
Thank you, glad you liked it! 🙌🙏
Learnt something new 😊.
Awesome!

💖💖💖 Here I thought I was finally making headway through the many levels of Ableton Live 11; until I just learned MAX for Live has a Euclidean Sequencer... Thanks, Will, thanks a lot! 😒(joke) By the way... Soniccouture have three awesome drum packs which include Euclidean sequencers: "Konkrete", "Moonkits" and "Sun Drums". (Homer drool face) I'm now thinking about using Ableton Live 11's MAX for Live Euclidean sequencer to send MIDI outboard to one of my synths... Ooh, the possibilities.
You're welcome and have fun! Possibilities are almost endless :)
Fantastic
Thank you, I am really glad you enjoyed it! 🙂
Great video, however when I TRY to use the drum rack the way you showed, I can not get it to play. What am I missing? thanks
quick question, when you were using the perimeters and testing the rhythm, i noticed that there is no midi clip, but in the final result i say midi clips, how did you convert the rhythm into a clip? also very great tutorial, and keep up the good work Will

Amazing video dude! Really love how you explained it and im so happy to find out what the rhythms are called that i am working with. never knew it was called Euclidian :D
Thanks for showing this nifty tool. Coming from Bulgaria where odd time signatures and syncopation for spacing notes is very common in folklore music I always found western notation systems lacking or making it difficult to represent music that isn't the normal 4/4 or 3/4. At the same time those rhythms feel very natural to play on an instrument. So if you are looking for esoteric musical concepts you might want to check time signatures like 7/8, 9/8 13/8 and 15/8
Does anyone know a euclidean vst plugin where the steps depend on the midi chord notes in your midi clip? (step 1 - lowest note, step 2 - second note etc.) In most plugins (including HY-Plugins) you have to set the notes in the plugin manually or the plugin plays all notes from the midi chord on each step (i want a single note per step). It's not very dynamic if you want to change chords throughout the track.
i do that with the max for live Rozzer seq. recommended by tom hades but anyway the euclidian looks fun. for poly theory the video from Andrew Huang helps me a lot
Thanks for sharing, I'll check it out.
Handy tip there Will, can you name any genres/artists who use these style, so we can Google it and hear the sounds in the real world as it were please?
Every rhythm that ever existed on this planet can be made from Euclidian rhythms. Coming up with African / Afro-Cuban Polyrhythms becomes trivial... I recommend Taches Teaches excellent series. He is using bitwig, but the same concepts apply nonetheless. kzhead.info/sun/gbGbgM-JiJOPaXk/bejne.html kzhead.info/sun/mtKCfc2qn3aFhIU/bejne.html
Almost all techno music uses this technique
Sure! That would be a great follow-up
Off the top of my head I can only think of an album called Articulations by Rival Consoles, because he uses polyrhythms that are inherently euclidian. Despite being an electronic artist, after looking up his methods, it turns out he uses a lot of field recordings for his rhythm sections. And he avoided using any type of drum machines. He did however literally sketch his ideas for his tracks out on graph paper. He says his intentions are to explore different ways to conceive music while keeping the feel of it organic.
is it possible to map the key to a knob/encoder so you can select notes on a drum rack? also is it possible to just stay on 16 cells by defining min and max midi note selection?
Hey Friend this is awesome video! Can you teach us a little bit about rhythm in the modern rap drum beat like trap or drill???Grate content!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Epic!
Thank you, appreciate it! 🙌🙏
Awesome.
Thank you, glad you liked it! 🙌🏻
So basically a standalone version of the Advanced Fill Tool in FLStudio
I don't use FL Studio but thanks for letting me know!
I dig when musicians click something to make music for them and say "lets see what happens" Pretty neat plugin...
Thank you for the feedback! One learns new things through experimenting ...
Euclid is my man! So is Tyco Brahe.
😇
I thought this was a max plug in. Awesome
Cheers! 🙌🏻
Wow. This just blew me away. Where the fuck was this all my life lol
Boom, I am stoked you found this video helpful! 🙂🙌🏻
Awesome video! How would this technique work in Logic Pro X?
You just need to find an Euclidian Rhythm Generator that works with you DAW, all the rest is the same :)
Really Good!I have. Greetings from Germany. I kiss your Soul
Glad you liked it, Patrick! 🙌🏻
hi amazing video how to record the midi from this guy^? can only rec audio for now
Does this plugin work on FL studio?
Damn, im regretting not buying Abelton Suite edition more now... time to upgrade for Christmas! haha
🎅
7:20 sounds a bit like Vince Clark’s music
Thanks Thanks Thanks
You're very welcome! Anything else in particular you’re struggling with and would like me to cover on the channel?
@@EDMTips I'm sorry, I don't know your name. My name is Leo. Glad to meet you. Thanks for the question. In addition to the technical aspects in electronic music, it is also very important to promote and work with releases on labels. I would be glad to hear some information on this issue. Thanks
Would be awesome especially for progressive tracks making them kind of hypnotizing....
Agreed!
should bring this out as vst for all daws 👍
It seems like FL Studio has a sequencer built-in. Maybe others will follow :)
nice tips Amen ! from where we can get euclidean sequencer?
Glad you found them helpful! Check the link in the video description :)
@10:30 - "Stuff from Canada..." while showing pic of downtown Indianapolis, Indiana, USA. 😉
😂I blame my editor!
From Canada!
Hey there! 🤘🏻
SO amazing... I loveth me so Euclidian Sequencers... Would this work is Cubase 12?
It will but you might need to use a difference Euclidian sequencer. They all have similar functionality though, so it shouldn't be a problem!
@@EDMTips thanks for the reply any suggestions on which one? I recently have been shifting from ios to desktop... I love the 4pockets EucSeq on ios but this version you have shown is the closest to that I have come across so far for desktop DAW
I'm a fl studio user. Does fl have such a plug-in like this? Or are there any third-party plug-ins recommended?
I believe FL Studio has an in-built Euclidian Sequencer, Euclidean Rhythm Generator. Right-click a channel, and choose Advanced Fill.
Is IT possible to install and use this plugin having Ableton working offline without any online activation process besides purchase and download on PC hard drive?
I know. No needed. Great plugin but unfortunately Loads CPU heavly
There are many Euclidian Sequencers, you don't need this one per se.
*ENVY IT*
If you don't have Ableton there's a free vst called HY-ESG by HY-Plugins This is sweet thanks. Hey that Euclidean rhythm stuff goes deep have you seen the movie Pi? It's that black and white movie and it's free right now on KZhead. The characters name is Max and his computers name is Euclid.
Thanks for the tip, Michael! Indeed useful for non-Ableton users :)
How do I get this!!??? I have Ableton Live Suite 10, but Max doesn’t have it, and when I go to the site from my Ableton Max menu, there is no search option on the site. I can’t find it! I want this so so bad😭😭😭
It’s a third-party plugin, I included a link to it in the video description:)
Great stuff as always. It's possible all math genius could contribute to cool rhythm! Let's make a plugin that uses the quantum wave equation and see what happens. Perhaps a matrix-like universe could self-integrate inside my daw. Then it's lucky I use Reaper instead of Protools as every time it crashed whole civilizations of intelligent beings would be wiped out. 😄 Have a great weekend.
I am all up for quantum wave bonanza :)
Cool. Does it work in any Daw?
Yes, it does. You just need to download a Euclidian sequencer supported by your DAW :)
Is there a logic friendly version
What's the name of the software at 2:25 ?
Great, I can only afford Ableton Live 10 Intro so I am out of luck for the Euclidian rhythm sequencer. Interesting idea though, thanks.
You're welcome, glad you enjoyed it anyway!
