Hello, this is a not so brief comparison of karaoke in all of the sims PC games. I was actually thinking this could be a short comparing just 1 song but then I realized 20 seconds of each was way too little time, but making this video I had to cut the songs so this wouldn't be like a full hour of sims singing. And btw, I've been with these songs stuck for the past few weeks so sometimes I'd be doing the dishes and be like "waaaboo nee" lol, either I gotta give them credit for making them catchy or I've just been hearing them way too much, probably that last one.
Anyways, what are your thoughts on karaoke? To me it was nice hearing them all cause it was something I never minded, I never maxed it out nor checked all the songs in any of the games because it was one thing I made them do on dates or something, I never head them all so it's nice seeing how songs like "funky sims" were kept
Sims 1 is great. It had a good variety of songs, unique performances for each (as simplified as those seem today) and sims picked every genre regardless of skill. I love the big difference in good vs bad singing in all of the games. And btw, there's also mid skill in all of the games but the difference isn't as striking so I skipped it, but in the Sims 1 they have yet another performance for mid level.
Sims 2 is pretty good too, it has lots of songs and it introduced duets, I loved the songs in here the most, their performances were good but I can't deny I was a little disappointed to see they'd just play random animations at all times. The melody would be just starting and they'd be singing their hearts out lol
Sims 3 is the most disappointing if you ask me, they just followed Sims 2 and called it a day but they have less songs, there's nothing that visually separates unskilled from skilled singers and I have no idea what the synthesizer does (I'm sure some of you know so please let me know) the one thing they did was allow kids to sing in duets but that's about it.
Sims 4 was surprisingly great, they had lots of songs, they kinda had routines, their singing was good, they added cool upgrades to the karaoke machine, what's not to like?
So, if you ask me, it's a tie between all of the games with sims 3 being left out lol but that's just my opinion, let me know yours and I'll see you on the nest one! I may finally compare hamsters next.

Sims 1 is the clear winner for me, the vocals have so much heart and soul and I love the animations and overall performance of the singing sims. Seeing the audiences reactions to the singer and how it in turn affects affects the Sims performing is just the icing on the cake.
I loved the Ballad one where she sits on the speaker, I think it's really fun and unique.
Think about making Bella Goth high creativity and having her sing a ballad... Plenty of time with non-aging sims. Other skills recommended for stars are charisma and body. Stardom was basically the first interactive career for sims! Sims 2 didn't have any. Sims 3 brought firemen, ghostbusters, detectives and a little extra for doctors along with registry for self-employment with Ambitions. Sims 4 has Get to Work with Science, Medical and Police plus Cats and Dogs bring a vet-profession.

Seriously, it's not even a karaoke in this one. It's actually a mini stage used for singing competition if anything. But, I agree. There are unique charms not found in other sims games after this first one.
Sims 3 voice acting is fk terrible, especially the female one. Horrible voices and very harsh "r's"
I think it's important to mention that in Sims 4 your sims can also sing using instruments like the piano and guitar, and they can also write their own songs, perform them and license them for an income. So there's even more songs sims can sing if they write them themselves.
You're right! But that's a whole skill and the other sims also sing in other places but this is focused on the karaoke alone cause I didn't want to make it hours long lol

They interacted with the items so much! I really want to know what instructions the voice actors were given. Also love how your Sim and Bob became best friends while doing karaoke in the Sims 2.

With the amount of booing unskilled sims get - in ts1 especially - it’s no wonder their confidence is so severely crushed, lol. I agree tho, it’s cute how in ts4 they are allowed to have more fun with it. This is also evident in the atmosphere; boos are replaced by lighthearted laughter. Much more realistic; you might boo your friends occasionally (a bit of light teasing) but most of the time their bad singing will just make you laugh 😛

The first time? Nah, The Sims 4 also has the best toddlers, farming, beekeeping, vampires, mermaids, werewolves, wishing well, beach activities, spa activities, CAS and graphics and sims can travel/move in every world.
@@ProLifeAtheistXX maybe to you. Btw toddlers in ts4 seem more like small kids, older than in other games. A big difference to me. It`s just my opinion. And graphic. I think they are much better in ts3 + sims there can move without loading screens.
@@raa9098 The loading screens in TS4 are annoying, that's true. On the other hand, the sims in TS4 can freely travel to any world while TS3 sims couldn't. And that's a huge plus for me.
@@ProLifeAtheistXX the sims 3 your sim can travel worlds it’s just a process and if you move to a different world without mods you lose relationships. I do prefer how worlds are seperate thought because I hate in sims 4 how the sims just wander places they don’t belong and the sims 3 worlds are much bigger and lots can be placed pretty much anywhere. Personally I think the sims 3 graphics are dated but I also think sims 4 are and I don’t think they were ever that great to begin with espically if you get up close to any object like look at a pizza or computer up close in every game the ts4 object always looks the worst besides sims 1 because there is no detail. I also feel like ts2 and ts3 toddlers feel more real than ts4 toddlers and I overall feel more connected to them. I also give them props for actually having them to begin with . I honestly don’t think any of those things were better in ts4 besides werewolfs but even then it’s not very impressive to me since it came in a seperate pack unlike supernatural. In my opinion since games are supposed to improve over time they should’ve had a supernatural pack and then added more details to the occults not split everything and be cash grabby. Also i think the ts4 meremiads and beach activities are honestly pretty terrible compared to sims 3 so that surprised me you said that I always hear people complain about them since they are missing a lot of features lol. (Not trying to be rude I just never heard anyone say they are better) but I definitely do find the beach and water related stuff in gernal to be lacking in ts4 compared to sims 3 and if you compare both island related packs sims 3 does bring a lot more but that’s kinda expected.

I like how Sims 1 actually interacts with the speaker when they sing, also with 5 different genres to choose from right off the bat. Sims 2 and 3 is a tie basically with similar animations and introducing duets, but Sims 3 has an edge for having kids doing duets. For once Sims 4 is not the worst. Good call back to Sims 3 music videos playing while they are singing..

Sims 1 was a classic, I do remember those days! Sims 2 had great sing along songs!! Sims 3 songs was pretty good and with Sims 4 those songs are good sing alongs as well!!!! However, I do wished Oogie Fever, and New Gliz was for karaoke in 3 and 4 though. Oogie Fever, Funky Sims, and New Gliz are my favorite sing along songs!!!

I like how the sims 1 seemed like the animation was actually going to the song. I get why they prob just make generic singing animation for all songs but it felt very special. Tbh I like all the songs in all the games.
😮 Every time a kid in my Sims 1 game has EVER tried to sing karaoke I always end up with the “missing animation” speech bubble thingy over their head and the kid is silent and just bounces back and forth on their feet. Was nice to finally see and hear the proper animation in this video!

I love how in ts1 the animations matched the specific performance. But with all the variations the later games added I can see why the devs made the animations random instead. Maybe at some point :D singing is a whole skill in Sims 4 a it's a bit extensive. I cut elders out cause it was getting too long but now I'm regreting it lol

sims 4 and 1 won it for me since they both were having something creative ^^ the things I liked in each sims: sims 1 : I love that they have a special animation for each song. It's a great detail and I apreciate it sims 2 and 3 : love their bad singing [especially in sims 2]. It's sounds very funny XD. Also the scene when they are jumping at the object to do a karaoke is amazing - sims 4: love that there are many songs and that they can use autotune ^^ the best songs in each sims: *with the good singing* sims 1: "Ballad " - very calm and nice song to listen to sims 2: "Oogie fever" - I like it the most because of the background voices sims 3: "New Glitz" - the voice is just amazing sims 4: "For your love" - beautiful and "After night" - catchy *with the bad singing* sims 1: "Ballad" - the sound at the 2:52 - sims 4: "Fool's Prayer" - poor guy *singing duo* [good + bad singing] sims 2: 6:36 and 7:52 sims 3: 11:32 and 11:53 sims 4: "Country"

random fact no one will read: in the sims 4 game files, hotter than sin's audio is named "karaoke_solopop2_66sec" and the audio for fun tonight is named "karaoke_solorock2_61sec", something tells me they either changed their mind during development or they rushed it. im gonna assume they did both because there's also the fact that some of these songs are technically instruments, some are sound effects, also i could have sworn one of them didnt have the karaoke prefix in their names but i think i was just tired :p EDIT: i found a funky new fact, every genre has a low-skill version, i can understand this with duets but this is also the case on solos, but you cant have a slow skilled sim do like disco or something, i guess that's just a sign of rushing
I'm pretty sure kids gain creativity skill then the singing skill when the creativity is maxed out (well now they gain them at the same time with the new update)

That's a thing in all of the games but I thought it would get too long if I added the mid skill in the 4 games
I loved the sims 4 karaoke with singing skill. And..also loved the background screen. LOL By the way, the sims 3 and 4 kids can't gain the skill, but they will head start at the higher level in singing skill after aging up to teen. I had 2 kids in the sims 3, I left them singing everyday, then they became professional straightaway after aging up to teen.

But the first one was great for its time at least Weird and sad they only had two group songs in the Sims 3 when they had more in the Sims 2. Three places last just because of that

Yeah, Sims 3 surprisingly dropped the ball there! Basically a copy of Sims 2 with LESS SONGS -- how does that work? Yeah, Sims 4 really did it the best apart from not having separate animations for bad singers like in Sims 1. Ah well! Also, bonus fact for the commenters -- I don't know about the other games, but Sims 4 actually has TWO karaoke machines! The one in the video is the more expensive, more flashy one, but there's also a smaller one that doesn't have a music video screen. Better for more budget-conscious Sims!
