Apple’s USP has always been that it is ultra-protective of its users’
privacy. But that's all a façade. The new surveillance system that Apple has sought to launch with iOS15 is a scare. With iOS 14.5, you can choose to restrict targeted advertising. Apps that run targeted ads like Facebook and Twitter, took a huge hit. 59% of advertisers in the US and UK shifted from iOS to android- resulting in a net loss of $600 billion of Facebook alone, in just one year.

This is what i am screaming for years about targeted ads and privacy. Tracking a user for advertising is not always a bad thing. And this lack of understanding leads to these types of situation where a user is played and they don't even realise it.

You may be right.. targeted ads are not at all bad things.. but this goes sideways when companies like meta intentionally sell peoples data to other companies The Cambridge analytica scandal is one of them.Using peoples data to manipulate political decision and going as far as making users vote for one contentor rather than other (in case of an election by serving ads or content that can brain wash people to a certain extent) thats where the problem lies
It can go wrong. It depends on what all info they are collecting and how they are categorising people. The latter part is obviously secret and you can rely that will never be public information. So the only way you can do this is via stopping the information collection route. As a disclaimer, I have never owned an Apple. And I probably will never do because of the closed eco system. I also don't use Facebook (once in a month or something) or Insta (never).

I have not denied anywhere in those 4 and a half lines of comment that it is not ever miss used. The common reason why developers track a user is to show targeted ads. Showing targeted ads is not a bad thing, infact its good for both a user and the company. Miss using that data to manipulate people is something must not be done and neither i have denied that it. Companies like apple are using this tracking phobia of people to do exactly what this video was about. I myself am a web developer and if in future i track my users it will be to show them ads they may have interest in and to personlise their usage not to do something unethical and immoral.

Not just Tim Cook, Steve jobs also was corporate and also was focused on the money. He sold his products not based on statistics or logic but based on emotions. People became emotionally attached to his products and were okay to pay for Steve's expensive products without thinking rationally.
It's always about money. I don't think your point is valid here. Every man will focus on money at any investment at the end of the day.
Steve jobs innovation is ahead of time . people don't have any other competetive product so charging money is normal but today tim cook nothing new innovating in his product just charging more and more money. Hence instead of talking like other phone companies at the launch event Steve Jobs had a different speech, other companies said our phone has AMOLED display and these are the benefits of AMOLED display, Steve Jobs said our screen is completely magical if you touch it you will feel like lickiing it even though iphone had lcd screen back then that was very bad compared to AMOLED but people don't care about the features and statistics when they get emotionally attached to the product.

Good to know that the slippery slope concept is understood by at least some KZheadrs. Your content is pretty much better than most of the channels on KZhead, you just need more collaborations with product reviewers where you could do a light-hearted but informative segment on the parent company of the brand being reviewed

They aren’t protecting from ads. They are giving option to enable or disabled tracking. If you want targeted ads then allow the apps to track. Problem solved.

It helps in dealing with monopolies like Apple, and ensures that all the businesses, whether new or old, can do business with fair competition.

But targeting ads will still be a problem there because everything is annonymous on the blockchain. If there will be any advertising, it has to be through a blockchain platform functioning same as any ad agency.

Recently there was a stifle between Android and Apple regarding lack of cross compatibility between Apple messages, and other protocols like SMS. Apple purposely degrades the messaging experience for their own users if the messages come from android devices. It's ugly competition.

Your content is really improving day by day! Apple is really going on a path of monopoly, despite the fact I like apple's product and part of apple's ecosystem, I hate their monopoly game. I am seeing ads in app store when I search for the app! i hope company's start putting up fight with apple or at least start making product better or compatible to apple, for example, Google's mobile device is improving day by day and they are also in the way of making google ecosystem, same case for samsung.

Dude I completely agree with you, but : 1. It's not forcing companies to stop tracking, it's giving people a choice and we can choose whether we wanna be tracked or not. 2. Even google used to charge around 30% but now it's 15% and it's a cost for hosting your apps in their stores.

Here's a simple recipe for homemade ramen: Ingredients: 4 cups chicken or vegetable broth 2 cups water 2 garlic cloves, minced 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated 2 tablespoons soy sauce 1 tablespoon sesame oil 2 tablespoons miso paste (optional) 200 grams ramen noodles Sliced cooked chicken, pork, or tofu (optional) Sliced green onions Soft-boiled eggs (optional) Nori seaweed sheets, sliced (optional) Bean sprouts (optional) Sesame seeds (optional) Instructions: In a large pot, heat the sesame oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger, and sauté for about a minute until fragrant. Add the chicken or vegetable broth and water to the pot. Stir in the soy sauce and miso paste, if using. Bring the broth to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 15-20 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together. While the broth simmers, cook the ramen noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside. If desired, prepare soft-boiled eggs by boiling them for 6-7 minutes, then transferring them to a bowl of ice water to cool. Peel and slice them in half. Once the broth is ready, taste and adjust the seasoning as needed. If you prefer a stronger flavor, you can add more soy sauce or miso paste. To serve, divide the cooked ramen noodles into bowls. Just calrifying a few things 1. You can turn off Personalised Ads in Apple. (Currently Apple can only run personalised ads in 3 apps with it being tested on Maps. But once you turn Personalised ads off, You're gong to see random ads in these three apps) 2. Micro transactions have 30% tax if your income from app store exceeds $ 1 Million. Else its 15% (yes this is a way for Apple to divide and conquer) 3. You can also choose exactly what data can be sent to Apple (you can turn all of it off without much performance issues)
I bet it's an illusion, this freedom if choice you mentioned :) Where are the big money there will never be freedom ;)

Some things to say: - In some countries Apple does not run ads, like Brazil - Target ads can be disabled in System Preferences -> Privacy - The “scan” of photos is not actually a scan, it uses some development tricks to avoid abusing privacy But in general, I still agree with the vídeo, I don’t like the monopoly idea, and some strategies of Apple can be harmful for final users. But at the end of the day you can use another device
There cant be any programatic magical way of scanning a photo for porno without inspecting it.
