It’s absurd… when did ufc become wwe… why is “being good on the mic” a part of making it and being successful in the business. People have grown tired of the Mcgregor style of trash talk. It was entertaining at first, but in the long run it’s very toxic. I enjoy trash talk myself, but not when it’s centered around sensitive topics. Colby should’ve switched it up like Mayweather and fall back from all the trash talk. He’s still trying to sell himself as the “bad guy” when that style is already played out in 2023. It makes it look even worse when he wasn’t able to back it up against edwards.
Sean Strickland is easily the best trash talker in the sport. He’s insults people but none of his insults are actually personal unlike Covington’s or McGregor’s not to mention they’re both different people when the cameras are off unlike Strickland who’s just himself 24/7.
Connor trash talk worked when he was on top but when you start to loose its wierd. Colby is just desperate to make money he is willing to make a complete ass out of himself

Some people, maybe. Trash talk still captures the wider publics interest. Look at how much attention Dricus vs Strickland is getting now and how many views that press conference had.

Dana White can easily set out rules about trash talk being off limits to family, but you'll notice he carefully acknowledges it, but refuses to do anything about it. He actually grins a bit. Any hype and drama is more money in his pocket. He's also full of it when it comes to drama at press conferences. He's been front and center smiling between the fighters when they try and come at eachother. This guy is such a politician.

Dana, I think the answer is to start giving fines and suspensions when fighters cross lines like that. No professional sport would allow it without some penalty. I'm all for trash talk it's entertainment not when it's about family and religion should be off-limits.

Not sure if some of you grew up impoverished or not but there are certain outside forces that push someone to live the “Gangster” lifestyle. I mean the reality is that people want to give so much sympathy and understanding for criminals that they often forget the people who have suffered from them.
