According to Rafa, this was the most important match in his 2017 rejuvenation. It gave him the confidence he needed for the rest of the season, and to think he’s won 8 slams since then 😮
Of course 5 of those 8 are from the French Open.

Crazy how much Nadal has improved since then, his ball speed is much higher, he hits it flatter when necessary, his serve speed has increased. He’s just overall better
Debatable. This Nadal was better athletically. I'd put my money on 2017 Nadal over 2022 Nadal.
@@jacobschmidt2709 I wouldn’t as the years went by after 2017 all his shot’s improved and were more aggressive and could finish off the point earlier
@@jacobschmidt2709 I personally think here you can see in some points Rafa isn’t finishing off the point as early as he can now. However I would put French Open 2017 performance over French Open 2022
