My parents are visiting for the weekend. My dad helps clearing some of the grass and birch forest. My mom couldn't resist help cleaning up and makes a delicious apple pie. I'm continuing pointing the walls.

The pie looked amazing and I was almost salivating! Seeing your parents and you sitting together and sharing the pie felt like a really special time!
Yes, I was hoping to get a slice when it was done. 😢 it looked so delicious!
I. Want.That. Pie!!😋😋👍👍👍👍
Er gaat niet boven moeders appeltaart Martijn. Wat fijn dat ze er waren.
😋🙏🏼
Being a mother myself, I love when your parents come to visit and do chores and cook for you with love. God our Father looks after us with this kind of love. I watch your videos and think of how God created such a beautiful place. You are truly blessed to live in such a place and to be able to see Gods hand in the mountains, clouds, wind and to go to the rock over crop and look out to the edge of the earth. Thank you for sharing these videos with us. They are spectacular.
Amen.
This is one of the episodes you treasure, parents visiting, helping with the chores, moon watching with them, baking your favorite pie, these are golden moments something some of us will never get to experience anymore. Thanks for sharing.
Your dad's energy and your mother's meticulous attention to detail shows where you get it from - it is in the genes.
That's what I thought. They must be remarkable people. It is apparent that they loved what they were doing and are proud parents😊
Also his Grandfather's skills go in the mixture. There is a lovely video about him worth watching it.
Little HOlland In the Italian ALps! Good luck, Martin!
Lovely to see your parents again. And that apple pie looked incredible! So sorry about the lost footage, but you seem to have recovered nicely. It was a good episode. Thank you.
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟Really wonderful vlog. Lucky guy. ❤❤❤❤❤
As I watch the interaction between you Martijn and your parents, I cannot help but think the invisible strings of parenthood are so evident and powerful - so beautiful and touching - thank you for sharing all of this with us 🙏🏻😊
Thank you so much Martijn for another video. As a mother with grown children, it touched my heart to see your dear parents there with you for those precious few days. They trust in God for your well being! Your finished walls are beautiful from all that tedius and painstaking work. The grass you planted really took off! It's all shaping up into your dream. Well, it isn't a dream anymore! May it all continue to go well, may you enjoy it always in good health! God be with you.🙏💕
Lovely comment
Just beautiful!!! ❤❤❤❤ Why do I burst into tears without fail at the end of every single video from Martijn and I have been with him since week #1? I am an old lady in Canada, no kids or grandkids, no partner, who never had parents who wanted to spend time with me. It was a childhood of non-stop yelling and criticism and being ignored, so I was always afraid I would be like my selfish parents so I never had a family of my own. If only I had had exposure to a loving, respectful example like Martijn's family ... just so touching and kind and beautiful. Thank you Martijn. You have brought so much joy into my life it is worth every tear. ❤ God bless you and your precious Mum and Dad!
With love to you from Germany ❤. I habe 5 Daughters and spent most of my lifetime to them and sometimes i missed to be just by myself.
As someone born in a dysfunctional family.. these calm and beautiful moments with your relatives, enjoying coffee and pie in nature, make me tear up. Lovely videos and shots, as always. Take care
Great to see your parents! They must be so proud of the man their son became!
Smiled watching your mama bringing the pie and coffee down to the stone table for you and your dad, just lovely, nice to have them visit, cherish them. We missed last week, don't delete your work again, buddy.
So sweet of your parents to visit. You've been working so hard . Parental love in visit, help and a beautiful pie to boot! No matter how old we are, its always great to be with loving parents. Mine are gone now. Think of them all the time. Seeing your parents reminded me of my parents love for our family. ❤ Thank you for that.
When ALL are put in place, the cabin and the profound memories itch in the minds and hearts of many who contributed in your endeavor will remember and perhaps say, I just know I worked on that, or I planted those trees and so on. Like pannier bag carried in pairs attached to the sides of a bicycle to balance the weight reflects our innate nature of dependent. A character we can never overcome and let go. Likewise, it is very admirable to see the presence of family and friends coming together to help and the beautiful noise they add, season-wise, it does not matter (cow bells for cows whereas laughter and conversation are people’s).
Only once in a blue moon do you see a night sky view like that. Absolutely gorgeous! So glad all is well. We were a bit worried. Yes, mothers love to organize ❤️.
Did you know that, ironically, we just had a blue moon..I think last week! Ha!
Yes, it was a "Blue Moon". A second full moon of the month.
Now that apple pie was magnificent Martin! What a lovely video with your parents, they were having an amazing time working alongside you. Moments in life to be treasured. 🥰💕
Can you imagine the sheer delight previous owners and occupants of this property would be to see the wonderful changes and quality work that has been done?!?
Martin is incorporating the rythim of nature in himself, he talks slow, he looks calm and inspired, 3 years off grid is a blessing not many can enjoy.
indeed - the essence of calm!
Everyone needs a break from all the sickness todays society brings.
It is great to 'meet' the parents of such an extraordinary man!! The two of them must be so proud!! How wonderful for you to have them come visit. I was soo happy to see the chickens. I love listening to them.
You’re so blessed to still have your beautiful parents with you. Enjoy them when they’re still alive. Bet that apple pie was yummy too!
Its so good to feel when your parents roaming around you when they getting old and retired. Appreciated your liking and creativity. They are became our child.
Ahhh the Strudel...Man can build a house But only Woman can make it a Home... The Peace is priceless...Thank you for sharing.
Finally!!!! I had to reschedule my weekend due to this delay 😂
😂
Sunday without a video was a bit stressful - wondered if Martijn had got tired of doing this ! Happy to see your family visiting again & the happy chicks loving the apple peels ! What an idyllic spot ! Thanks for the spiritual uplift !
I can see where you get your good work ethic from, and your parents must be extremely proud of you . Great videos too.
Are you joking...!?!? If not, then this is definitely not a good way to approach things....!!
Hurts the routine 😂
You get a lot from two or three days. Thank you for sharing your parents with us. My mouth watered at the sight of the apple cobbler. Two years, just over 700 days on your mountain. Look at what you’ve accomplished. Congratulations. I wonder at what 10,000 days will be like? 😊
23:05 Even more beautiful. Heavenly🙂
he lived here for less than two years
only two years as of this fall!
@@joostverra9130I think you must be correct. I went through the videos and counted two winters. It sounded to me that he said three years, but he held out two fingers. Must be my ears.
@@jamesstephens6941 No problemo. When you go to his channel video's and select "oldest'' his first video living here was in october 2021. What he mentioned was the first time he came here in the summer before, 2 years ago now :) though it feels like it's been longer! Can't wait to see him actually move into the cabin.
Hi Martin…the most beautiful parents ever…Mama organizes and bakes a sweet pie and Daddio does the yard work and prunes the trees…it’s no secret where you get your work ethic…better than watching a Disney movie😁thanks for the weekly videos…they’re great!!!
Leuke mensen je ouders. Het bakken koken heb je van je moeder zo te zien. Vitale mensen. Je vader is ook geen lui mens. Net als jij. Prachtig om te zien. De beste serie om te volgen. Heerlijk.
Great job on the walls. Lovely to see your parents again. Such a beautiful and scenic place you have. Enjoy yourself and thank you for taking us along on your adventure! ❤ 🇨🇦
Apparently Martijn is unaware his chickens have posted a video on their own channel of the parents cutting trees, the grass, and apples for pie AND grouting the stone while Martijn barked orders like a demonic child.🤣 We missed you, Martijn! Your parents are lovely! We did not want this video to end. Peace.😇
This sitcom parody could write itself as we see this whollllllle other side of Martijn - drunk, belligerent, disorganized...like a Robot Chicken short 😂
Im glad you're alright. I was kind of worried when we didn't see you Sat. or Sun.
@@sandynull7576He posted a msg to advise he'd lost the video content and that he'd post on Tues.
You're so lucky to still have your lovely parents...seeing you with them made me miss mine quite sharply suddenly. They must be very proud of their skilled, hard-working son.
Your mom should have a baking channel. No talking, just watching her create amazing things.
I know one word in Dutch: it's very appropriate for the cake your mom made: lekker. Also, another few words: gezellig samen eten. Did I remember well? I'm Peruvian but spent 9 months in Holland 30 years ago.
Dat heb je goed onthouden!👍
The fullness of summer is almost at its end. Your property is so ineffably beautiful! It's actually staggering at times. You chose well, looking at the old real estate photos. And yes... it was time to trim the trees. That view must be preserved! Thanks so much for your channel!
Vader, moeder en zoon samen op de berg kijkend naar het dal onder een prachtige maan. Prachtig😊
Martjin, I know you must be so proud, having your parents visit on holiday. To be able to share the fruits of your labor, and have a fine meal in a perfect setting.
There’s nothing better than Mom’s homemade apple pie! Dad seems to be into the homestead and the moon footage was cool! Thanks!
Don't sweat the footage, it happens. Still a robust episode and great to see the progress.
A reminder that trees can grow like weeds. A properly managed forest is a blessing for both humans and nature.
I just love the way the hens follow you everywhere! Like dogs! ❤
I hope your parents are proud of what you are doing, you have all my respect!!!
Yay! Good to see you again Martijn! The moon walk was spectacular. I had no idea you were so close to a city. The view was beautiful.
Presumo que la ciudad, que se vé a lo lejos, es Turin.
@@penuricas510628 I found on google map martijn house, what is surprising, the small village in the mountain near this so big city.
We don’t really appreciate how much civilization surrounds you until you show us at night. Heavenly ❤…
I experience more peace of mind watching these videos than a quiet weekend off at home. I am surprised there are not over a million subs at this point in the series. They don't know what they are missing. Thanks Martijn.
Oh wow. You took your parents to your "look out mountain". I love that view. So nice they could enjoy that with you. Take care folks. Good to see your family again. I'm going to try your mother's apple pie. Looked fantastic. Mother organized your kitchen area. That's nice. That's what we/mothers do.
Wow, the apple pie looks wonderful. Always nice to have your parents visit. The cabin is coming along nicely.
Oh your mother’s precious hands when making that fruit cobbler are such a sweet memory for me! Pls tell her I said so. I hope this video will be as precious for you in the future. Both your parents seem to be wonderful human beings. Cherish the time you get to spend w/them. It is truly fleeting. I hope they enjoyed the time on the mtn w/you as much as we did watching. Thank you.
how could you resist the whole night to that delicious warm pie? Parents portaits are stunning, such golden moments with family are really precious.
What a beautiful visit with your parents. The moon walk, your mom’s lovely pie, the hard work with the pointing, and the heavenly vistas of your property. Your filming and editing superb. I just love seeing your videos. Much love and good health to you ❤
Oh, the pleasures of a parental visit... with, I think, just a touch of chagrin. Make the most of it. The walls are looking gorgeous and, while I've long been impressed by your campfire bread baking, pulling off that pie was extraordinary to me. Watching the white chicken run behind you, perhaps to catch any critters you stirred up, was quite humorous. As an avid viewer I thank you for spending extra filming time, especially with family visiting, to put out this delayed posting. I only hope none of that lost video included your parents. And thanks for the captioning suggestion!
Yeah, the white chicken running was also a highlight for me.
She started making that pie and I don't remember anything after that. Heavenly.
So lovely that your parents stayed over your place. Made made giggle when you said your mum organised and cleaned up as mothers do because indeed it's so true no matter old we are. Your was so hands on helping you around with your land. Lovely bonding moments.
Your parents come for holiday and dad immediately starts working. That's love. Your mom reminded me of my mom wearing flip flops (thongs?). Mine wore hers year round. Glad that you all could be together and share that beautiful cobbler. Losing your footage must have been a bit of a disappointment but it probably happens to everyone at some point. Very best wishes to all!
Maybe the footage is hiding somewhere and hopefully you will happen upon it some time in the future. I hope so 😊
When I see your parents with you I remember the verse, “The meek shall inherit the earth.” Nice to see your parents. Enjoy these presentations so much.
When insomnia hits in the middle of the night, I switch on my tablet and watch your channel. Your videos are my rescue remedies. I have also enjoyed reading your book. Two years on a bike . Nice seing your parents.
When you are up there time stands still. I felt like the rest of the world has disappeared! Really enjoyed your parents.
How wonderful to see you and your parents having a good time. That night view was amazing! … and it’s so lovely to listen to the Dutch language… such a cute language! 😊 … good to have you back, Martijn!
So sorry for all your filming work that was lost, but thank you for turning these three days round so quickly. Stunning moon walk with your parents. I love how the chickens follow you. Well done on the walls they are looking so good. The land has changed a lot from those early photos. That apple pie looked delicious, your mum is a good cook and I love how your parents just get stuck in helping you around the property x
There is nothing more familiar than when Dad uses the power tools leaving us to pick up sticks or hold the light.. It's a sacred right of passage.
When you went for the evening walk and overlooked civilization, I couldn't help but think that your parents must be so proud of you.
Thanks so much for these beautiful pictures 😊 and the extra work you did for us. I can feel the familys love for each other and for nature. 3 beautiful souls 💛🫶🙏
Dankie, Martijn. Jy is geseend om nog jou ouers so aktief te he en dat hulle jou kan kom besoek en bystaan. Hartverwarmend! Dankie.
@charlenejefferies9274 Looks like you said Heartwarming and Thank You Well said !
Wow, I can read it, but I had to look up what strange dialect of Dutch this was. I forgot Afrikaans! Wat leuk, en je spreekt waarheit.
Yip she did. Well done.@@not2late2game53
Haha! Mooi man! Mooi bly.@@duncandomey8199
Thank you for not forgetting the fans in Malaysia. Thank you also to the mother who is willing to be in the video. thank you mom
Cool seeing Mom truly amazed - at 75 or whatever - to see something new to her. Her famous apple pie recipe cooked in a fire!
So lovely that your parents got to see your progress. Your mother's apple looks delicious!
How lovely to see your folks visiting. I think the combination of Dads and power tools is universal. And Moms making apple pie. Sumptuous!
What an amazingly beautiful place to live the slow life and yet so busy. Humans are incredible to make homes from earth and stone and pies from fruit off trees! Awesome!
Oh what a great to have your dear parents visit, help out and make a amazing Apple Pie on the coals❤ So nice to see the grass you seeded growing so healthy and dark green. So much beauty , so much peacefulness. Thank you always for sharing.
You are so very blessed to still have parents - BOTH parents! - and it comforts my heart to see that bond and their abilities, both mental and physical, till intact. So beautiful, so comforting, to be so blessed that you cherish those moments and best of memories for days and years to come. Thank you for sharing, Martijn. Much love to you and your parents (and cutest chickens) from Texas USA.
Thank you for sharing a wonderfully special visit with your precious parents, your beautiful work completions, those heavenly views and topping-it-off with yummy apple pie. You are truly blessed!
Always great seeing your parents (and loved ones) on your beautiful property, Martijn. Thank you for sharing 😍.
The tree growth over these few years is amazing. Thanks for sharing the older photos of the land. Cheers to your mother - she raised boys so she knows the boundaries but glad she knew she could “organize” your kitchen! The pie was a lovely touch!
I came across your channel whilst searching for people who take lifestyle changes, and you don’t disappoint. Finally watched all the episodes and seeing the energy of your parents - keep up the awesome job! Importantly, take the time you need 😊👍🇦🇺 all the way from Australia
The moon rising ,beautiful,as are the distant lights.oh a Dutch apple pie a sight for sore eyes.Simply wonderful
Trees remind us of how short our time is and that there is a time for everything.
That’s so frustrating to lose so much video but we’re thankful for what you share. I’m sure you were glad to have your parents there. So gorgeous!
Your parents are sweet and humble. So nice to see them. Moms make the best apple pies, don't they! No matter how hard the task, Dad's are always there to help. I bet they truly enjoyed the view the most. This episode was worth watching. Don't even miss what you had lost. It's all good. :)
WHAT A BEAUTIFUL MOMENTS WITH YOUR PARENTS ,WITH THAT DISPLAY OF NATURE ... MARTIJN THIS VIDEO HAD THE BEST CLARITY ...🙏🙏⭐⭐
How nice you were able to watch the rising of the super blue moon with your parents😊
I love how you combined family time, DIY projects, and delicious apple pie in one video! Perfect day all around. 👨👩👧👦
Great video. Enjoyed seeing your parents visiting. I can't get over how well your father does. He radiates knowledge and strength. He's up in his years yet, you wouldn't know it watching him pull starting the trimmer and saw not to mention doing all the trimming and cutting as well. I could taste that apple pie. That looked so delicious and mouth watering. Both of your parents are strong folks. Taking that evening walk to lookout over civilization with the lights and the moon racing off in the sky was beautiful. Also, the drone footage above the cottages really shows the progress you've made. It's all starting to paint a awesome picture. I know there's a lot more to go but, you can easily see how nice it's going to be. Hat's off to you Martin, the hard work is certainly showing.
Love the comment about your mother tidying up and organising the kitchen...well of course! That's what we mothers do. You will always be her "Little" boy!
I see now where you received your cooking skills. Thank your mom from all of us for this treat.
Glad to see your parents were able to visit. Enjoy your time with them as much as you can.
man how I love watching your videos, they make me feel like your friend, hahaha! it feels like I'm building and helping you! gratitude for making me calm, I learn a lot with your patience and your level of detail! I'm from Brazil, success is always with you watching.
Good to see you Martijn and good to see your folks!! This video was shorter than normal, but it was a beautiful heartwarming one! Was so happy your mom and dad came to see you. I think it was good for you, was feeling you needed a lift. What wonderful parents, who raised a wonderful son! It’s so good to see this harmony! I can see them in you in so many ways. The quiet way about you, the way you work, cook, enjoy life. The Moon Walk was absolutely gorgeous! Thank you for sharing. I love listening to y’all talk in your Dutch, such a gentle language. Watching you interact with one another was sweet and tender! I got tickled watching your mom cut the butter and sugar with the mis-matched sharp knives. She made a very pretty apple pie. Thank you for the recipe. I’ve never put all those ingredients into an apple pie, but I plan on trying it. I laughed when you said she arraigned your kitchen, “like mothers do”. So sweet Martijn! Your blue and pink night sky shot was breathtaking. Really nice shots this week! Birds singing, nice! What a treat finding a Cherry tree! I love cherries. I wonder what kind it is, sweet or tart? 🤔 I will be happy for you when you finish pointing the walls. I know that would get tiring for me after a while. Take care! Martijn. Glad to see you wear the mask. We have to take care of our eyes and lungs. 😊 💚 from Texas
So wonderful seeing your parents there with you. The grass is looking so green where you planted seeds. Everything is looking amazing.
Parents coming "for holiday" to see their children and then just starting to work in the garden, cook and clean, never mind how old the child in question is, is such an intercultural thing haha. I loved seeing your mum's hands when she was making the apple pie - my mum's look the same: hands of a person that spent a lot of time doing things for their loved ones :-)
The generation that often finds it hard to just "sit and do nothing", also. Unless at the beach perhaps :)
Thank you…we’re all so relieved and grateful to have an update. Lovely time with your parents. Thanks for persevering and giving us this episode.🙏😊
I am so sorry you lost those films. You must have been devastated. You go to so much effort. However you transported me to heaven. It was so lovely to see your wonderful parents. How beautiful the night views are. I hope you are rejuvenated and pleased to be home. My dad was a dr. In ww1 for 5 years. He came back ill but recovered. I was his only child and he took me adventuring. In my 80s now but the days spent camping in a hut by a lake with just a long drop for a toilet were the happiest of my life. You bring back memories Martin and thank you. You are so lucky to still have wonderful parents and living my dream life.😊
It's so great that you still have your parents to share and enjoy your project with, lucky you... 🥰
There is something quietly joyous about your videos, Martijn. Thank you for sharing all the goings on in your spectacular mountain home.
Always enjoy your family visits so much! Thanks for sharing your time with them! How thrilled they must be with their adult family😄 Love how your chickens follow after you. Love their fresh eggs laid even more…lol! Great work, Martijn. And always wonderful viewing. Your are true inspiration🤗🙏🏻🤗
Thanks Martijn - as an NHS doctor, it gives me some welcome peace escaping into your world.
Another 28 minutes and 52 seconds of pure bliss. Thanks Martijn!
Life is not always beautiful but these 2 days with your parents illustrates it doesn't have to be to be treasured. It's the special moments that count in the long run and deleted videos are a triviality. The midnight walk, the foggy mornings dripping with dew, apple pie by fire pit and mom in flip-flops...special moments you shared with us this week. Heel erg bedankt Martijn. I hope taking time for yourself and your family gives you strength to carry on and the wisdom to know that time is not relevant.
As always, such a beautiful visual feast and with your parents, this time, thank you for sharing some beautiful moments with them. The cobbler looked divine and an art form in itself, your mother’s hands so lovingly creating it. It’s all art when I watch these treasures, from beginning to finish. And such a privilege to be able to see them. And the cow bells are a song. Thank you Martijn. 🙏🕊
I knew mama was going to make something to eat! Even before I read it in the title. Thank you, mama! 🥧‼️😋
There’s nothing like sweet parents coming a visit.
That evening walk ... priceless 🤩 your parents will not forget it soon 👍
Martijn, how wonderful it is to see you interacting with your Mom and Dad. That visit to the cliff's edge, the night time vista of the lights below will, no doubt, remain in their memory for a very long time. Continued good health to both of them and safe travels.
Your mum is an awesome cook . Your father very talented. You're very lucky
How fortunate both you and parents are to be able to spend “quality” time with adult “children”.
