My parents are visiting for the weekend. My dad helps clearing some of the grass and birch forest. My mom couldn't resist help cleaning up and makes a delicious apple pie. I'm continuing pointing the walls.

  • Being a mother myself, I love when your parents come to visit and do chores and cook for you with love. God our Father looks after us with this kind of love. I watch your videos and think of how God created such a beautiful place. You are truly blessed to live in such a place and to be able to see Gods hand in the mountains, clouds, wind and to go to the rock over crop and look out to the edge of the earth. Thank you for sharing these videos with us. They are spectacular.

They trust in God for your well being! Your finished walls are beautiful from all that tedius and painstaking work. The grass you planted really took off! It's all shaping up into your dream. Well, it isn't a dream anymore! May it all continue to go well, may you enjoy it always in good health! God be with you.🙏💕

  • Just beautiful!!! ❤❤❤❤ Why do I burst into tears without fail at the end of every single video from Martijn and I have been with him since week #1? I am an old lady in Canada, no kids or grandkids, no partner, who never had parents who wanted to spend time with me. It was a childhood of non-stop yelling and criticism and being ignored, so I was always afraid I would be like my selfish parents so I never had a family of my own. If only I had had exposure to a loving, respectful example like Martijn's family ... just so touching and kind and beautiful. Thank you Martijn. You have brought so much joy into my life it is worth every tear. ❤ God bless you and your precious Mum and Dad!

  • When ALL are put in place, the cabin and the profound memories itch in the minds and hearts of many who contributed in your endeavor will remember and perhaps say, I just know I worked on that, or I planted those trees and so on. Like pannier bag carried in pairs attached to the sides of a bicycle to balance the weight reflects our innate nature of dependent. A character we can never overcome and let go. Likewise, it is very admirable to see the presence of family and friends coming together to help and the beautiful noise they add, season-wise, it does not matter (cow bells for cows whereas laughter and conversation are people’s).

Mooi bly.@@duncandomey8199

  • Your parents are sweet and humble. So nice to see them. Moms make the best apple pies, don't they! No matter how hard the task, Dad's are always there to help. I bet they truly enjoyed the view the most. This episode was worth watching. Don't even miss what you had lost. It's all good. :)

  • Great video. Enjoyed seeing your parents visiting. I can't get over how well your father does. He radiates knowledge and strength. He's up in his years yet, you wouldn't know it watching him pull starting the trimmer and saw not to mention doing all the trimming and cutting as well. I could taste that apple pie. That looked so delicious and mouth watering. Both of your parents are strong folks. Taking that evening walk to lookout over civilization with the lights and the moon racing off in the sky was beautiful. Also, the drone footage above the cottages really shows the progress you've made. It's all starting to paint a awesome picture. I know there's a lot more to go but, you can easily see how nice it's going to be. Hat's off to you Martin, the hard work is certainly showing.

  • Good to see you Martijn and good to see your folks!! This video was shorter than normal, but it was a beautiful heartwarming one! Was so happy your mom and dad came to see you. I think it was good for you, was feeling you needed a lift. What wonderful parents, who raised a wonderful son! It’s so good to see this harmony! I can see them in you in so many ways. The quiet way about you, the way you work, cook, enjoy life. The Moon Walk was absolutely gorgeous! Thank you for sharing. I love listening to y’all talk in your Dutch, such a gentle language. Watching you interact with one another was sweet and tender! I got tickled watching your mom cut the butter and sugar with the mis-matched sharp knives. She made a very pretty apple pie. Thank you for the recipe. I’ve never put all those ingredients into an apple pie, but I plan on trying it. I laughed when you said she arraigned your kitchen, “like mothers do”. So sweet Martijn! Your blue and pink night sky shot was breathtaking. Really nice shots this week! Birds singing, nice! What a treat finding a Cherry tree! I love cherries. I wonder what kind it is, sweet or tart? 🤔 I will be happy for you when you finish pointing the walls. I know that would get tiring for me after a while. Take care! Martijn. Glad to see you wear the mask. We have to take care of our eyes and lungs. 😊 💚 from Texas

  • Parents coming "for holiday" to see their children and then just starting to work in the garden, cook and clean, never mind how old the child in question is, is such an intercultural thing haha. I loved seeing your mum's hands when she was making the apple pie - my mum's look the same: hands of a person that spent a lot of time doing things for their loved ones :-)

  • I am so sorry you lost those films. You must have been devastated. You go to so much effort. However you transported me to heaven. It was so lovely to see your wonderful parents. How beautiful the night views are. I hope you are rejuvenated and pleased to be home. My dad was a dr. In ww1 for 5 years. He came back ill but recovered. I was his only child and he took me adventuring. In my 80s now but the days spent camping in a hut by a lake with just a long drop for a toilet were the happiest of my life. You bring back memories Martin and thank you. You are so lucky to still have wonderful parents and living my dream life.😊

  • Life is not always beautiful but these 2 days with your parents illustrates it doesn't have to be to be treasured. It's the special moments that count in the long run and deleted videos are a triviality. The midnight walk, the foggy mornings dripping with dew, apple pie by fire pit and mom in flip-flops...special moments you shared with us this week. Heel erg bedankt Martijn. I hope taking time for yourself and your family gives you strength to carry on and the wisdom to know that time is not relevant.

  • As always, such a beautiful visual feast and with your parents, this time, thank you for sharing some beautiful moments with them. The cobbler looked divine and an art form in itself, your mother’s hands so lovingly creating it. It’s all art when I watch these treasures, from beginning to finish. And such a privilege to be able to see them. And the cow bells are a song. Thank you Martijn. 🙏🕊
