  • I heard that when Napoleon waa presented with some general for his army, he was given a list of his education and accomplishments. Napoleon aaked "Yes, but is he lucky?" I agree luck is a factor. Or in my case, not having anything terribly unlucky happen so I was distracted from my goals. I did remarkably well in my undergrad and won many scholarships and am now nearly finished with my PhD. But I know people in college who were doing well until a family member died or something else catastrophic happened and they were definitely suffering from the terrible timing.
