    • Today zoos are comprised of animals that been rescued from illegal captivity or were found as infants completely abandoned by the parents because of potential lack of viability in the wild or the parents were killed and the baby orphaned, which means it cannot develop its skills that it needs to survive in the wild, but most of the zoo animals are offspring of previous generations of animals. So, as far as zoos in the western world go, they aren’t comprised of actively captured animals.

  • I work at a place that actually has lions and the one male can be heard roaring well over a mile away early in the mornings. It’s a 330 acre property!!! It’s an amazing sound that I’m still not used to!!
