BOOK YOUR TRIP TO KRUGER: bit.ly/BookatKruger
Watch this incredibly close moment caught on camera of a leopard that entered a lodge’s restaurant full of guests trying to hunt a bushbuck.
Send in your wildlife video here, and earn money: www.latestsightings.com/partn...
This sighting was filmed at Singita Ebony Lodge a few days ago by 39-year old, Innovation Edge philanthropy fund' global partnerships lead, Erika Wiese, and her friend Marie-Louise Kruger. We’d also like to thank Erika for pledging all proceeds from this video towards leopard conservation through the Singita Lowveld Conservation Trust.
Erika Wiese tells us the story of how this sighting played out:
“Myself, my uncle and two of my closest friends continued chatting on the deck after breakfast. The rest of the family had gone to their rooms to rest before the afternoon game drive. Vervet monkeys are one of the best ways to know there is a predator around, by listening to their alarm calls. This particular morning, vervet monkeys alerted us to the presence of a leopard that made its way onto the upper deck, crossed the lower deck and then made its way from the lodge to remain undetected.”
“The leopard was seen stalking a bushbuck in the riverbed in front of the lodge earlier. Singita's staff is well-trained to deal with encounters of this kind and have strict safety protocols in place to ensure the safety of both staff and guests in these situations, we were, therefore, able to remain calm, silent and in awe of the beautiful creature that was so close to us.”
“We felt complete awe, reverence, respect and gratitude. What a rare experience to have such an encounter with a leopard. The situation proved that wildlife and people can live and interact with each other in harmony and respect.” It was as if the leopard knew that for this instance, it was in the human’s territory.
“The sighting ended with the leopard strolling calmly away from the deck area and out of sight towards the bushbuck who you can hear alarm calling at the end.”
“This was extremely rare for me and all I can say to someone in that situation is to stay calm and respectful.”

This is how everyone feels when the actual owner of the company shows up to see how his business is growing.
Yes! That's hilarious! I've worked in restaurants for 30 years and I know that feeling
I always make sure that I look up the names of the higher ups whenever I get a job now, because I have had a regional manager and a CEO visit in different jobs. I had no idea until I was later told by a manager and I google'd them. Even though the CEO was very pleased with our customer service, my heart sank after I found out the CEO spoke to me.
🤣
The owners to stop building stuff and then this won't have to happen

Leopard’s are pretty fearful of humans, so this was probably an accident, and given the fact that everyone remained calm and relaxed he remained submissive. Animals can sense fear so if the leopard sensed that, he would have likely used it to his advantage and attacked. This also comes to show how much of an impact we’re having on wildlife and their environment. Sometimes they have no choice but to wander through, but it’s amazing to see that these people respect that and gave the animal plenty of space.
No shirt, no shoes, no service !! Sorry Leonardo ! However, you can get something to go if you like? 🤗
How does the leopard react when someone shits their pants? Asking for a friend
I've seen in some villages lions do the same thing wild ones not the reserve lions they're more aggressive
@@nextup8598 Very true that those cats can be very aggressive even around a lot of humans. What part of Africa do you reside? One thing my friend I noticed, don't get "there and they're" confused in your reply. You are able to go back and edit it on here.
Leopards in the Sabi Sands (where this was filmed) get incredibly relaxed around people, because they're viewed often by safari guides and guests on vehicles. They get accustomed to people and don't see them as a threat. That may not extend to people on foot, and relaxed cats can get skittish if they encounter people on foot, but even so I'd guess that is what is going on here. It certainly was not wandering through the lodge due to habitat loss. The Sabi Sands is 623.08 km2 and is adjacent to the Kruger National Park which is 19,485 km2. That is prime leopard real estate.
I was frankly disappointed that Mr. Leopard was not wearing his mask.

im sure there were people working that most probably were armed for such an occasion and i gotta say good on them for having courage and patience with leopard, honestly i don't know how much courage i would have had in same situation
It is common for Elephants and most other wild animals . ONE OF THE ATTRACTION OF STAYING IN KRUGER PARK HOTELS. STAFF WELL TRAINED PROFESSIONALS .NO ONE RISKS ANYTHING.
I've been noticing this a lot in this type of videos. Leopards, Cheetah's, Lions, Rhinos, Elephants... there is always someone armed, but they are so in control of the situation that they don't even need to point their gun. Question: How many FULL PEOPLE was in that restaurant? I only saw 2 blokes.
They are staff; residents are in a closed area until he goes . WHY IS EVERYONE SO IGNORANT? AS TO THE HABITS OF SAFARI HOLIDAYS . NOT EVERY ONE WANTS TO GO TO FORBIDDEN TROPHY HUNTING. LIKE GHASTLY TRUMP SONS.
@Andrea Vitanza ~ she was talking about trophy hunting, millions of rich people around the world travel to shoot dead, generally large exotic animals, it costs a lot of money to shoot certain 'rarer' animals. for example, it costs around $50,000 to shoot dead an elephant, $75,000 - $100,000 per rhino...then you get down to hyenas and warthogs, around $500, baboons just $50... there are 100's of different animals on some lists (depending on what animals are available)..imagine writing out your list of different wild animals you want to kill? SMH such a shame 😞 sorry I got off track but poachers don't pay the landholder to kill animals, hence the term poaching, both are despicable
@@NannupTiger you'd be surprised by this but national parks allow hunters to pay big money to shoot problem animals, for example an American women shot a old giraffe a few years ago and everyone went mental over it, what no one knows is that the giraffe was so dominant it was killing all younger males in the area and was ruining the gene pool, the park rangers would of had to kill it anyway so they let a rich American pay loads of money to do it instead and thus the giraffe problem is solved and the national park gets a hefty donation for further conservation. Don't get me wrong I'm dead against poaching but don't think conservation is as black and white as just saving animals, it's more about management and population control.
@@choughed3072 That's pure nonsense. Nature takes care of itself, no need for human intervention.

Leopard "I must to check what's new in their menu? Do they really should have 4 stars? This barking dog is probably very tasty""
I don't believe wild animals should be kept as pets coz they belong in their own wild habitat. Unless they need to be rescued. However, as soon as they are healthy and trained to live in the wild, they should be released back to their natural habitat. There are exceptions to the rule of course when an animal is injured, abused, have physical deformities or are helpless youngsters or even babies or have been so long in captivity. They should go to a special conservation place to live a wonderful life. Oh and people should learn to respect and conserve the wild life, their habitats and nature in general.

Leopard: I’ll have 2-3 of your biggest porterhouses, rare. If you’re all out, I’ll make my own, from the closest person to me.
0:16 Leopard: be careful i don't go for you instead...
In areas most frequented by leopards, people have learnt that to drive away a leopard they must give it distance and try to stay one side, and NOT to close down its escape route, then even if they are merely shouting, the leopard chooses to escape away. If you need trouble, surround a leopard and close all the escape routes, and the outcome is that it will be the people who will be using all possible escape routes...
