Which Japanese-branded sedan is better now that the new Camry is out? The Camry now has a 5th generation hybrid system with more power, and still big fuel economy. You can even get #awd with the new #toyotacamry . Which is the better buy? Which sedan comes with more features and value?

Can we just appreciate that Toyota and Honda still make the Camry and Accord ?
Camry and Accord are the best.. Then their are the rest... 😕 😑 meh..
I agree. People still love midsize sedans and this is where Mazda totally lost the plot, in addition to not having enough hybrids (Subaru too). And $30k for a amazing quality hybrid is a good deal in this day and age.
Unequivocally.
Theyre the only cars at that class selling. No one buys malibus or altimas other than those with no credit or fleet sales.
I absolutely loved the looks of the past generation Accord. Seems like Hondas new trend is underpowered, plain and overpriced
Mazda is helping Toyota improve the handeling and that is why they improved. Toyota is helping Mazda with the hybrid system. Next Mazda hybrid engines are going to be incredible too.
I’m holding out for possible Mazda6 release. It’s my second M6 and I’m sold-especially if they team with the Toyota hybrid system.
As the current owner of a 10th Gen Accord 2.0 Sport, I must say that I’m extremely disappointed with the new Accord. On top of the fact that they no longer offer the 2.0T, the new styling reminds me of a Buick from the 90s!! The new Camry is looking good though!!!
The current generation Camry hybrid is the most reliable car in the world.. No joke man
I’ve always preferred the Accord but this time around I think I’d go with the Camry.
I had a 92 Accord EX, back in the day, like you, I think this Camry is better than the current Accord.
After my first Camry I've had nothing but Toyota since.. I've always loved the Camry.
waiting on the Civic Hybrid this summer before pulling the trigger on this Camry. Othwerise, Camry it is for me.
Camry FWD will still be more efficient at highway speeds.
Actually that's what i'm waiting for too. Need to test the new Civic Hybrid first but the AWD on the Camry is very tempting.
@@Eugen-E mostly waiting on prices and trims
@@GiovankeeV1 It will cost like the new Camry.
On a same boat. Disappointed with what Honda did with accord 11th gen exterior
I’ve always said that after seeing the 11th Gen Accord and the little effort that they put into it that they left themselves vulnerable to the upcoming Camry and boy was I right! Huge Honda fan and 10th Gen Accord owner but the Camry and Accord have switched spots.
I own a ‘19 Accord 2.0T. Honda fan here. Eventually I’ll get a gas saver. 11th gen accord is a watered down 10th gen. Plenty of cost cutting. No more 4 way lumbar support, one map pocket, non adjustable rear head restraints, no rear a/c vents unless you get the touring, no more HD radio, less powerful powertrain compared to the Camry, no panoramic moon roof, no AWD. Honda really disappointed me. I’d get this new Camry with Toyotas proven hybrid system ANY day over that Japanese Buick Accord.
I agree with you. I should have kept my '20 and not gone '23. When you have a chance, read my comment above.
The Altima is basically a Japanese Buick good God that car is a snooze fest
I like the Accord but the Camry has gotten better with each redesign so if I wanted a new car out of the two, I’ll take the Camry.
No talks about how the accord is missing the homelink, no rear vents besides the touring, sub par ventilated seats, no 360 cam. Rear vents for FL is a must…
Kirk you hit the nail right on the head, Camry looked much better in all spheres especially being hybrid and AWD. Is cute and modern
Agree .Honda fans might attack your comment
Love this new Camry! Originally had my heart set on an XSE until I built one and it was the same price as a RAV4 XSE… So obviously I would go with the RAV4… Love the looks of the SE… Especially the grill and the wheels side profile in the video reminds me of the Lexus IS However, what really blew me away was the LE “ base” model… I’ve never seen so much equipment standard on a Camry before. I am not a person to buy the base model of anything however want a cheaper car payment and the equipment you can get on this trim level; fully loaded base model with a few accessories just a tad over $34,000 and you get the 232 hp and a hybrid that is a steal!
Camry will eat the Accord’s lunch and spit it out in its face
Agree
Accord 1.5T will drop in price big time as it cant compete with the entry level Camry hybrid with $5/gal gas.
For me, it's definitely Camry. The Camry not only looks better inside and out, but the Camry is feature-complete if you want to spend the money, such as a pano-roof or AWD.
Honestly, the Camry le, it's probably the best bet it has the most mpg and it pretty much has everything I need.
Honda returned to their boring designs and Toyota decided to step it up a notch.. Honda is gonna feel the pain for this..
Subaru announced recently that they’re discontinuing the Subaru Legacy if you guys haven’t heard
Damn, I was hoping it wouldn’t happen. RIP to another dead legend. 🫡That leaves the WRX as the last Subaru sedan.😢
I always liked the accord more but the camry definitely stepped it up this time. The accord is missing a lot of features that the camry offers like a 360 camera, awd and even a spare tire.
Do you think the premium plus package in the camry is worth it?
The new accord is hilariously ugly.
I bought a 2024 camry se with a gas engine less than a year ago. Never had a toyota always owned hondas. But I needed a car quick because of an accident and the nearby dealership had one. Now after research I wish I would have waited for the 2025 darnit.
Kirk buddy, I'm with you on this. I have been Team Accord for nearly 20 year now, but change has come. The new Camry is absolutely the better buy. I won't rehash everything you said in the video, but I definitely want to mention the styling. The new Accord has perhaps the worst case of long front overhang of any sedan currently on sale. That combined with ungainly proportions (exceptionally poor wheelbase to overall length ratio) and anonymous styling results in a vehicle that you can't even choose as an emotional purchase. It is outclassed and outgunned. Final (off-topic) note: compare Toyota and GM's current offerings. I think you would be hard pressed to find such a stark contrast. Toyota is hybridizing literally every single car it makes. The new Camry is *only* available as hybrid. This truly is a sign of changing market dynamics. GM on the other hand is burning billions of dollars on numerous EV models that it can't seem to get into customer's driveways while simultaneously abandoning hybrids all together. Absolutely wild.
Right here right now! Everything you needed to know about the 2025 Toyota Camry. I almost expect Honda to drop the 1.5T in the Accord and possibly throughout the entire line up for 2025. I don't see an application for it going forward. Exciting to find out how they counter.
I got the 11th generation Accord (2023) Sport Hybrid assuming it was gonna be as great as the 10th generation (2020), and it was a huge disappointment. While other automakers are paving their ways to minimalist design, Honda has failed in minimalism, and instead, their vehicles scream CHEAP in every aspect. It's so unfortunate how Honda has sacrificed quality so they could cut costs. Don't get fooled by how the Accord looks; everything is low in quality. The dashboard and plastic panels in my cabin rattle and creak excessively (I noticed noise in the 2024 models as well). Part of the dashboard has come apart several times, and the dealer thought they could fool me by glueing it back on. The center console wobbles noticeably from side to side, as if there is no support. The center console on the 11th generation is not attached to the dashboard. The driver door panel plastics have literately cracked behind the cheap soft vinyl. Honda didn't even try to hide its cutbacks in overall quality. Honda has also made cut backs on interior tech, such as phasing out the HD radio and Sirius XM; they're only included in the Touring version. Also, there is nothing sport about the Sport version, expect the wheels and suspension; the interior overall feels bland, the cloth on the seats are plain and cheap, and you can only get the interior in one color option. Unlike the rest of the competition, there is no vents nor chargers in the back, unless you go Touring. No other equivalent automaker has sacrificed so much in quality like Honda has. Even the outgoing Camry has a better upscale look both in the interior and the exterior. Also, the cabin plastic panels in the Camry has better quality than the soft plastic panels in the Accord. The Sonata and the K5 have much better upscale materials in general, and boy are they superior in almost everything. Don't get me wrong, but the Camry still got its mojo, and the design and materials still look and feel great. If there is one good thing I would comment about the Accord, it would be the hybrid powertrain. Everything else about it is very underwhelming. I already attempted to trade it back to a 2022 version but it wasn't worth it. I'm waiting until the lease completes one full year so that I trade it for another option. At this point, I'll be happy with anything besides.
I haven't even mentioned that I have dropped my Accord at the shop 9 times already. At first, there were clanking noises coming from the engine bay. Now, the suspension is having issues along with the ball joints. The dealer is having a hard time detecting the source of the problem. Meanwhile, I can't wait to claim Lemon Law on this jalopy of a car. Who would ever know that Honda would create such a bad car.
A lemon isn't indicative of an entire model line. I'm sure there are lemons for the Camry, Legacy, Sonata, etc ..
@@mgp9733 It’s not what I’m implied, but Honda isn’t going in the right direction. In terms of reliability, they’re not what they used to be.
Great video. Loved the comparison
The accord blew the previous gen camry away in pretty much all aspects but man what a come back from the camry to retake the crown
In what ways
LMAO! No, it didn't.
@righteousone1 it did though.
@@notsure3535 Ya Honda fangirls need some milk.

Kirk i😊 loved your LE review
So glad!
Did yoy like the Ocean Gem color?
Another great video thank you Kirk!!
I've yet to see the new Camry in person but I'd pick one any day over the Accord. Nicer car inside and out
I preferred the N/A Camry SE. Now that they are both Hybrid except for the base Accord, the are comparable, but I would opt for the Camry if I got one of these.
The Toyota 5th gen hybrid system uses a Li-ion traction battery with new more efficient motors resulting in a hp increase and more linear acceleration response. Toyota brings EV tech in more gradually on the hybrid path. That’s why it gets 51 mpg. This makes Camry the real competitor to Model 3. Now if they could get OTA software updates working 😂
yes and that li-ion battery that all toyota product use has been modified by toyota to make it more safer, reliable and durable albeit it is slightly heavier than li-ion battery of others. This modification has been applied since the previous generation Prius Prime. I expect to see li-ion start to flood all toyota hybrid product with the exception of some unique circumstance where nickel metal hydride still makes more sense (like in their trucks and off-road SUVs)
Toyota’s been using lithium ion traction batteries in the Camry since 2020.
also have u watched/listened to elon's earnings call. bro admitted that his EV sales are under pressure from hybrids. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@miraphycs7377Tesla has a home run with Model 3/Y, but instead Elon went full throttle into Cybertruck. He looks desperate calling out hybrids.
Well done Toyota! 🎉
What about the 2025 Lexus ES? There's been a handful of random videos on it, but not from you or any other main KZhead reviewers. I want to know more about it.
The new Camry is quicker, rides better, handles better, looks better, gets better gas mileage, offers AWD, on top of being more quiet and comfortable inside. And you get more features for your money. It literally does everything better than the Accord. Plus, you can't get a heated steering wheel or a panoramic roof on the top trim accord. The $34,000 accord sport doesn't even include heated seats. Wow. The new Camry is a much better value, and unlike the Accord it doesn't look like it's made for senior citizens, at least in XSE form.
XLE in Ocean Gem looks sexy too.
@@Fadic4 new Camry has better interior design exterior design comfort tech features power mpg refinement handling and more. People like savageeese KRIK and more have already driven both of them at this point.🤦
@@Fadic4 1.interior in the new Camry is miles better than the accord. Very much like a ES and obviously some ultra micro minority will defend the accord interior. By that logic then some people would love if murder and rape is legal. 2.Road nose in the Camry is more than fine regardless the trim levels.some will always complain like you. 3. Toyota are the King of hybrids drivetrains and does a excellent job of offering brilliant power performance refinement and mpg miles better than the accord. No one is going care about the difference of 0.3 secs or 0.4 secs in term's of 0.60. what people really care about is power. Overall I never leave anytime out and fact is new Camry is better than the accord. You can bet or think.whatever you want . Good bye and let's end our little talk here before things go too far.👍
@Fadic4•😂 1. Matt maran was wrong and that's ok. Interior in the Camry is better than the accord from every level. 2. Road noice is more than fine and higher Trim levels don't have that issue. Obviously Toyota like any company wants people to buy the higher end version plus it's not a Lexus. 3. Stop making big deal over difference of 0.3 or 0.4 secs when people only care about power mpg refinement and reliability.things Camry buyers care about. 4. Toyota new generation hybrid drivetrain has excellent mpg power and refinement. Please keep your EV like bs with you and car care nut. Overall have a good day..
@@Mylifeislegendary836. you’re very wrong, the Accord has a much more refined interior. Always has.
Would love to see Toyota bring back a nation wagon Camry option, otherwise Camry hands down!
When do you think the new Lexus ES is going to come out or be announced.
Very soon.
The Camry demolishes the Accord in about every way. I feel the same way about the Camry as I do the Civic over the Corolla. Idk what Honda was thinking. They put in no effort to the style and then took away features like awd. The Camry has a pretty wide range of options that the Accord just isn’t competing with. It’s almost like Honda is trying to make an excuse for getting rid of the Accord. I do agree the interiors are kind of a draw in if you like more modern or simple and clean.
Toyota took notes
I agree Kirk. The one to get imo is the SE. I'd get it in the heavy metal color black interior with all the options for about 35k. An unbeatable value. Game over Accord
Sadly i don't think the Accord offers any SiriusXM not even in the Touring model, it's been the only thing keeping me away from one😢
The Accord looks Better But ONLY WHEN IM DRUNK 🤣🤣🤣
have u watched/listened to elon's earnings call. bro admitted that his EV sales are under pressure from hybrids 🤣
The Camry is more powerful but why is the torque so low? And for the accord and Camry to have the same 0-60 is crazy.
Both are tied to me in terms of design, with the Camry having slightly better exterior styling but the Accord having a slightly nicer interior layout and more interior room. All other things considered, the Camry wins big with a lower starting price, standard rear aircon vents, and a more powerful engine with significantly better efficiency (when comparing base models). I think the improved Camry should pressure Lexus into doing the same for the ES.
Honda has been phoning it in too much lately
excellent video kirk. very helpful at a glance and Toyota hit a home run with the latest camry. i just hope it proves to be just as reliable as it looks
In the last case scenario these two cars will be the only sedans to exist cause of their resale value and long-term reliability. The others like the legacy is reliable but their sales are very poor and the Altima and the Malibu and the k5 are just unreliable.
No digital rear view mirror option on the Camry??
It’s hard, I was cross shopping a used ES350 (2019+ for the refresh) but the new Camry being a hybrid, AWD and “sportier” is quite enticing.
Honestly, while one shouldn't compare SUVs to a sedan, i would prefer the base camry LE trim any day over the non hybrid Subaru forester (2025). However it would be interesting to compare the Camry XSE AWD to the touring forester hybrid when its released. The accord looks better in real life than in pictures but the Toyota blows the accord away at leastfor the base trim.
My uncle has the new Subaru infotainment screen. Its just too huge and distracting for me. Camry AWD for the WIN unless you need to load a bicycle.
@@jeretso Excellent point. i have a 2021 limited crosstrek with knobs and buttons. much more functional and i hate the new big touchscreens in Subarus, but will compare other features in the forester (and other upcoming hybrids) to decide
@@z1az285 Looking down to tap the bottom of that screen feels so unsafe. Give me knobs and buttons.
@@jeretso yeah, not good at all from a safety perspective. in fact, screen failure can be a disaster in adverse driving conditions. Not that i expect it to happen when the car is new, but no one knows when the car gets older. some functions like defrost and window/ mirror heating need to have separate controls at a minimum.
I think I like the Camry better, although the Acoord is very subtle and elegant.
Agree
I am assuming the torque is lower on the Camry. 0-60 from reviews is 7.5 sec for the non awd Camry....not exactly thrilling.
Toyota is so cash rich it's not even funny
Hell yes it’s better and even speaking unbiasedly I mean I was born at night but not last night. Toyota really showed some love on it this round good job Toyota!

Kirk, To answer your question- YES!!!! The Camry beats the Accord by a mile but does it take the.... Crown? 😉😉🤣😂 To be fair, the Accord offers more generous rear legroom but then squanders the back seat advantage with lamentable headroom. Too bad we can't get the best one (Camry LE) in Canada. 🤨
Why not? Canada always gets the LE
@@realtalk5931 Credible sources have reported the SE is the base grade in Canada. We get 18" wheels to roll across our potholed roads. Florida and California can have 16s on their LE.
@@rightlanehog3151 id be shocked if true.
LE is the best
@@realtalk5931 I will be thrilled if it is untrue but I think Toyota is starting to take us for granted. BTW we won't get the Crown Signia XLE either. We will have to make do with the more expensive Limited on 21" wheels instead of the slightly more reasonable 19s on the XLE. 🤨
I liked the last Gen Accord better than that Camry. I like this Gen Camry more than this gens accord. Interested to see the TRD Camry or whatever later version they can whip up.. GR Camry hybrid Max? Also i don't really care about the drl non led turn signal
Camry killed them for the second time
Possibly you can replace the incandesant tail lights on the Camry SE with LED's when they burnout. No rear heated seats on the Camry. No LE Camry in Canada. Toyota is the only dealer that lacks inventory in North America. So if it's unavailable it doesn't matter how good it is.
The Canadian market got shoved down the throat with elimination of the LE trim for Camry. I’m almost done paying my 2020 Corolla LE that I have by 2025 and will keep it for the long haul
I’ve always been an accord guy I own a 10th gen but the 11th gen accord is hideous I’d go Camry all day between these two cars
I like the new camry probably my next car in the future i like it better than accord
Not only is the new accord bland and ugly it still doesn’t have panoramic sunroof smh and this is coming from a 10th gen accord owner
You nailed it Kirk. The Accord definitely looks like 2016 Chevy Malibu rental. Very boring. I have no idea what the Honda designers were thinking. As a Honda CRV owner, I will pass on the Accord mainly because I can’t get past the external looks.
Kirk on the Civic reddit some people obtained a leaked spec sheet for the 2025 refreshed civic albeit only in the Canadian spec.
He’s likely already seen it. Honda shares upcoming product information with journalists before they release. I think it’s gonna go public tomorrow
crazy how the 2025 Civic Hybrid will have standard 300 HP, they're going to destroy the Corolla! wow!
Camry will be the best sedan forever!!!
Is there going to be a Camry wagon coming later ??
I want the new Camry SE in ocean gem..I hate their allocation system
Kirk after test driving the camrys, do you prefer the 7inch gauge cluster in the LE/SE, or the 12in full digital cluster in the XLE and XSE? This is the first time that I personally prefer the lower trim cluster + the optional 12inch multimedia screen in the SE.
Once I have the 12" set up right I like it. Both are good. 7" is easier to adjust
Toyota in old days: I'm the most reliable car. Other car brands: We are the most stylish and have better interiors. The new Toyota: shutup, your time is over. You cant beat me in anything. 😂
This is great, Honda will have to tweak the packaging and prices on the 2025 Accord to compete. Really hoping for a pano roof on the sport touring.
Don't hope !! They did nothing for 2025 pilot.. Pilot is still miles behind the grand highlander
@@ibrahimbashir6634 agree.

Kirk, I'm a big fan of your content. Thanks for another informational video. I was in the market for a slightly used Lexus ES 300h until I learned about the new 2025 Camry, which I now plan to wait for. As you mentioned in this video, it sounds like the new Camry may be the better buy over the ES 300h since the new Camry actually has a better, more refined hybrid powertrain than the ES 300h. By the way, I'm pretty sure you can't get SiriusXM on any new Accord, including the Touring.
Corolla vs civic. please do a comparison.
Accord is so long, the previous generation was the perfect size.
The previous generation was designated as a full size sedan by the EPA. The Chrysler 300 was only designated as a mid-size for comparison
i like the look of previous accord better than the current one. Basically previous gen accord>current camry>current accord>previous camry
Honda needs to revamp the front end.
Cool
If the accord still had manual transmission and 2.0T, it would still kept its own edge over Camry. Sadly, tho, Accord of this generation lost both. It really is objectively a worse car than Camry in every possible metric now.
Sales numbers for years 2021, 2022 and 2023 showed Camry had beaten Accord in USA by at least 100000 every year. Camry sales even beat some highly sold SUVs. And yet some fan boys are arguing how Accord is better than last gen Camry. So those 100k people every year deliberately choose to get an inferior car? Stats don’t lie folks.
Agree
Honda needs to refresh the accord with a panoramic sunroof quickly
AWD too
Accord has sirius xm what are u taking about look at the website
The Camry in the nice blue color is very pretty. I predict that Toyota will have its best year in history in North America. Their new hybrid-heavy product line is perfectly tuned for the current world. Keep in mind that Toyota dealers as of late have been adding things to their vehicles like ToyotaCare that customers would not necessarily order. So some of the pricing for Toyota will be elevated above the published pricing.
Always liked honda, once my 2017 accord takes a dump i will be looking at this camry hands down. Mainly style for me. Even acura is ridiculous , type s for around 60k used. Went with a g70. Hondas losing right now. imo
So Camry>Accord. Civic>Corolla. Camry>Corolla. Civic>Accord. Camry=Civic (size preference, both best for size?)
But expecting a new Corolla soon? And hybrid civic?

I've always been a Honda fan but I ended up going for the 25 Camry this round, over the Accord; Just better at everything all-around.
Memory seats for the Camry are available on the XLE trim only. The XSE and other Camry models don’t include memory seats.
I'm guessing the rear vents are underneath the front seats. Prob to prevent grown kids from muckin around
think you have some wrong info on Sonata hybrid tho. Sonata is AT transmission and it also offers AWD option on one of trim. Hope Kirk can drive one of Sonata hybrid video because I am liking Sonata exterior more and waiting to see driving experience inside new sonata hybrid.

The current accord in Australia costs more than the entry level IS when it was still available in Australia. Heck it costs around the same as a Lexus ES now. It doesnt compete with the camry in Australia. It tries to compete with the ES.
