  • The cameraman is the MVP here imo. Watching him in the behind the scenes, and all that goes into filming a 1 take, he's basically choreographed also. It's amazing really, especially when you consider how bad the weather was to work on that day 😂 💜

    • one shot not one take, they did multiple takes.

      @sariel8406@sariel8406Ай бұрын
    • @@sariel8406 'One take' is the correct term too! I think you're thinking of 'first take' maybe? Saying a video is 'one take' just means the video has no cuts, you are watching a single take with no editing. (source: I used to work as an editor)

      @shockofthenew@shockofthenewАй бұрын
    • @@shockofthenewI've been corrected on this in the other direction by professionals who said this was a one shot but *not* a one take. I'm not arguing with you but at this point I've heard different things from people who say they work in the industry 😂 I'm happy to let it go in any case, but I do think "one take" is kind of misleading if you don't do it in... one take... 😅

      @evantesseract737@evantesseract737Ай бұрын
    • @@evantesseract737 That's fair enough, I appreciate your skepticism! I do have a degree in editing and have worked in the industry on and off for 15 years, though. I'll try to explain a little more clearly if anyone's interested: In general 'shot' and 'take' have different meanings. 'Shot' tends to refer conceptually to the creative details of the image. Talking about a 'shot' means examining the angle, the lighting, the mis-en-scene, the action etc. Whereas 'take' refers to the whole thing as a single, practical object... the shooting has finished and you now have a 'take', which is a 'thing' that you can pick up and move around in the editing software. If you say "let's try to get the whole thing in one take" it means "let's try to film the whole thing without cutting." Whereas if you say "let's try to get the whole thing in one shot" it means "let's try to frame the angle in such a way that all these objects fit in one image." In this way, saying "one shot" just doesn't make as much sense. Someone might say it casually without thinking, because the terms do get used kind of loosely sometimes, but technically speaking it isn't as correct.

  • There is a “sister song” to Save Me from a later album. It’s called “I’m Fine” and while both are beautiful by themselves, when seeing them performed one after the other it really elevates them both. (You can watch their dance practices) I’m Fine is like the “upside down” to Save Me, from the music to the choreography to the lyrics/theme. I can see how your interpretation would certainly fit for many people. For me personally it becomes about the person(s) around you who help pull out of a difficult or depressive episode. It can even speak to your own “stronger” or more confident self. The “shooting sketch” (making-of video) is very interesting to watch. The weather looked miserable at the beginning when they were practicing (rainy and apparently cold & windy), but they persevered regardless. They release shooting sketches for most MVs and special presentations, even for their solo work and collaborations.

The guys are running behind the camera guy with a steady cam and an assistant to aide in directing or helping him where to move. It was a miserable day - cold, rainy, windy. The guys were so happy when it was done. There is a coordinating song called "I'M Fine" and they do a Live with Save Me right into I'm Fine. That one is great too.

  • You don't have to guess, everything's there in the behind the scenes video. Discreet tricks were used (I saw a great analysis of it on Jeff Orig's channel - a director from Hawaii, also Taylor Mari's boss - originally Taylor's intro video was made for him) but everything was applied to an existing one-shot, it wasn't "patched" out of a few shots. The location was Saemangeum - a tidal flatland on one of the coasts of Korea. This song goes hand in hand with another one - "I'm Fine". The graphic design of those titles is an ambigram - both titles are hidden in one graphic, depending on which side is up. While this song seems sad and melancholic, it's also about reaching for help when you're not well mentally while supposedly happy "I'm Fine" has also the layer of being partially about masking depression. Just as you've guessed - the lore is there. On the first glance one is a sad song and the other one is cheerful but if you'll look closer, just as the graphic suggests, the first one leads to happiness and ther other one can make you spiral down.

Also Blood Sweat & Tears + Fake Love mv.

  • This is such a good video. 1 camera man. It was also cold and rainy when they did this. But then again how the video turned out it was a perfect day to do this. The company didn't have a lot of money at this time so they did this of course in 1 one take. But they also did this multiple times to make sure it was perfect, to me that's a lot more work than any other video. And this camera man worked just as hard as the guys knowing their moves and everything props to him

  • Other than Jin who graduated as a film and theater major, all BTS members majored in Broadcast and Entertainment. Other than JK who only graduated in 2022 (born in 1997) all six had finished their master's degree. BTS members are hands-on with their production and that's the reason why they love to take risks and be adventurous in their filming. They understand the industry in all aspects, I guess. This MV was done on a beach on one gloomy day. I highly suggest you watch the making MV

They just beat out an incoming storm while making the video. I don't know who they want to save them, but does it matter? We all call out for someone in those times of need! Keep up the good work! • They filmed it in Korea. With regards to the lyrics, while it can be taken as a song to someone you love, It is also said over the years that this was written for ARMY, this was written before their first win when they were at risk of disbanding... asking us to save them.... their songs will often have multiple layers and meanings.... The making of this music video with english subs can be found on Bangtan Subs KZhead channel... the camera Man and his assistant got one hell of a workout that day, watching them weaving in and out of the dancing was so impressive. kzhead.info/sun/g8mbl9N7pp2MloE/bejne.html

    • Huh. I hadn’t seen Save Me’s lyrics in that light before but they do fit that scenario (even though the song was released a year after I NEED YOU and they were probably already past the hurdle, it may have been written way before). I feel like House of Cards is even more specifically about that period of time before they were “saved” from being disbanded by the success of that album series and that’s what makes it so emotional.

  • You can see more of their deeper selves on their channel Bangtan TV. They have not changed since their debut. They are beautiful-minded people who have never lost their hearts on their debut even though they have reached the highest ranks. They always care about their fans and are at the top of their minds. Such heartfelt appearances, heart, attitude, and crushable live performance. Now, the fans and BTS have become one and go all the way. I've never seen a musician like this before. ❤❤And there's Jungkook's solo album ‘Golden‘. Among them, there's the title track, ‘standing next to you’, and the Times Square performance. • Yes. Please watch the Behind the Scenes about this MV. Since you are producers, I think you would love it. You'll see how they really got the famous One Shot. And you will see them rehearsing in a storm. I have no idea why their mgmt didn't stop and film another day. I have no clue why they didn't all succumb to pneumonia. But, you know. They are strong lads with strong bodies and determined commitment and just love what they are doing. Note. Almost all MV's have Behind the Scenes. And, most have non costumed and no set dance practices. And it's really not an official practice. It's a polished run-through before they film the MV. Thanks again for your fun reactions. Who knows? Maybe someday you could produce a video for them. Their company, Hybe, is in the U.S. too now. Scooter Braun of the famous Justin Beiber runs it. Yes. Hybe bought out Scooter's company, and Justin and all Scooter's clients are under the same company as BTS! ""Butter" is the 2nd all English song they put out after the pandemic was kind of calming down. "Dynamite" was their first. And "Permission to Dance" was the 3rd one. Watch it next. They wanted fun songs for the world to hear to promote hope and faith in things getting better. These songs all went to #1 on Billboard, which elated the boys. And stayed on top for weeks. They were even nominated for their first Gramm. They performed "Butter" Live on the Grammy show. They created a new exciting memorable concept with some new exciting choreography to wow the audience and the world. Note. Jin had hand surgery and couldn't dance the complex choreography. But he joined them on stage for the last verses. It's worth watching. And just so you know..all these songs have remixes into different genres. There is the Cooler and Hotter version of "Butter". There is a fun and silly version where they wear and change into crazy costumes. So be on the lookout for all versions of their songs. And Live Performances. They tweak them to be different each time so as not to be boring to the audience. Enjoy.

  • A couple things -- it was filmed in Korea (not sure exactly where) and it was a cold, drizzley day. The guys were miserable. I really encourage you to watch their "making of" video(s). There is a later song (I'm Fine) which is sort of an "answer" to Save Me. RM (actually all the guys) love it when you interpret their songs personally - what it means to you. But, just so you know, they are of mixed religions. (i.e. they are not all Christian.) But they respect everyone's beliefs.

  • Hi there. It’s so good to see another BTS reaction from you two. Just an fyi about BTS songs. It is extremely RARE that they would sing songs about an intimate relationships. They leave it open for others to interpret, however, because they always have had concepts or storylines with their albums and the songs within them that there is more depth. They are not a group who does the typical love songs. BTS has several songs that has an explanation videos done by individual armies because of the complexity of the song and mv. All of them are informative and will clear up some questions. Two songs I highly recommend that you watch an explanation videos are Blood Sweat and Tears by a channel called Don’t Worry I’m Not Afraid and Spring Day by an Italian army. Thank you and I look forward to your next BTS reaction.

  • Girls generation - I got a boy. It is a trend-setting song and an important part in the history of k-pop. It is a brilliant example of how they mix different musical styles. A lot of second generation k-pop is groundbreaking and still holds up. ex 2Ne1, Big Bang, Shinee, 2PM, Kara, Wonder girls, Super junior

  • While the lyrics are someone asking to be saved, they actually end up thanking the person(s) for all the things they've done that saved them, finally saying "Thank you for becoming us," so to me it's a happy song. Also, the music is mostly upbeat. It's ironic that "Save Me" is the happy song, while "I'm Fine," the song that lyrically and sonically mirrors "Save Me," is the one that sounds melancholy and has kind of depressing lyrics. The singer is saying they're fine, but they're really not. They're just at that turning point where you decide you're going to start to try to be fine, even though you're still hurting.

  • Until the MVs for "ON: Kinetic Manifesto" and "Black Swan" (both filmed in LA), all of BTS' MVs were filmed in South Korea. (J-Hopes' "Chicken Noodle Soup" was filmed in LA as well, but that was a solo project).

  • Watch the shooting sketch of the making of it Illustrates not just how it it was shot but also shows how dedicated the members are For me it seems at a certain point around 2015 -2016 when they say you or her they mean army… they never did do many “love” songs about romantic relationships and that genre pretty much disappears from their catalogue Thks for fun remarks and keep going pls 💜

  • To me what shows it’s one shot is the clouds and the light over the guys. Always in the same spot that’s not possible when you have cuts or would have to edit and correct that…also, watching the behind the scenes it was cool how they had to repeat so many times and even had to leave a few mistakes, it’s not perfect and that is actually what makes it more real to me too. I do have a lot of respect for the camera guy after watching the making of this😅. I agree with some others here in the comments, you guys may enjoy Blood, sweat and tears mv, or Fake Love mv. Greetings from Washington D.C!

  • As these comments reveal, BTS produces a behind tbe scenes making of the music videos for every release or most. Please understand that the majority of us ARMY do not just blow steam to prop up the guys.

  • I know other people have already mentioned, but yes, this is a one-shot, and you can see some behind the scenes footage in another video. However, if you are interested in seeing editing tricks used to mimic a one-shot, I would check out Dope! A lot of reactors watch it and question whether or not it's a one-shot because the transitions are so smooth.

  • Very few of their songs are overtly about romantic love (other than a few in their early School album trilogy). Mostly often its left up to the interpreter. In my case I see this more like someone who had recognized that they need help and are attempting to reach out for a helping hand, whether that's from a loved one or from internally within yourself. If you want to try for something different in the future, 'Idol' is a completely fun and hype song with a trippy MV. You will definitely want to add an explained video as a follow up though since the MV is packed with hidden meanings (layers as you said) and cultural Korean references. If you want to pack in a live performance as well, their version of 'Idol' at the 2018 MMA awards is iconic.

  • Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts. Would love to see you react to the 'behind' with english subs. Yes one guy who knew the choreo and looked like he got more of a workout than the guys LOL. And if you watch you see how pinky Jung Kooks hands are, and that is because it was damp and cold that day and they practiced in the rain for a bit before the filming it. Anywho, thanks again,

  • G-Dreagon, the king of K-pop. Crooked and Untiteld. He is a trendsetter. He introduced light sticks because he wanted to see his fans clearly in the audience. He started with crazy hair colors so that his fans would see him clearly. He was among the first to be on Bilbord, but unfortunately never in 1st place.
