I've moved A LOT in the last few decades, the first month is great, at 3 months it's when you start to question decisions, then 6 months is when you feel like you have your groove, and at 1 year one day you are sitting in a random parking lot and realize that it feels like home. Allow the emotions, lean into building community and having regular connection to those who are supportive back home and on the hard days have a good chat with your mum ;)
My friend not to make you feel bad but little Elle lost her mom three years ago 😞
But your advice comes from a good place Elle won't hold it against you you just didn't know she is like my surrogate daughter in my heart ❤️💕
I think nursery/day care is an amazing option! They will meet friends and they can socialise. My two children met their best friends in nursery who have been friends through primary/secondary! I’ve also met other mums through groups etc. It’s also amazing for the children’s independence and understanding there’s others outside the family unit etc xxx

Oh Ellie the video shows that you are a little homesick but this will be so normal darling, so natural but you will get through this and Katie will help and you will get other videos, thank you for your video and big hugs to you all xx

I think a daycare is a better option in terms of socialization. It’s also great to have your home to yourself where you work from home. Or days when you just want to lounge at home without having the kids home.
And a really great babysitter for when needed. ☺️
Everytime you post I have to count back 6 hrs😂,I rewatched the reunion with hector n herbie and cried even harder as a dog mum, I just love the fact you're all back together ❤
Daycare has been the best for my family!! Our 2 year old son looks forward to going and seeing his friends every day. There are also options to only send for a half day a couple days a week etc. and then you could have a part-time nanny a couple other days and for date nights.

I love your little shopping trips, baking/cooking, cleaning vids etc. Can’t wait to see videos of you styling your new home - I know it’s gonna make me wanna change my home around 😂 You’re my new comfort KZheadr and I’ve just honestly been binging all your videos lately. So happy your precious pups arrived-they seem so well adjusted already. Having lived abroad a few various time, there can be real cultural shock and a period of discomfort. Be gentle with yourself and give each other grace. You two are so fun and talented, you’ll be thriving before you know it!
I am loving your vlogs atm. Would love more of the house as super gorgeous! And I think daycare sounds like a good option for you all from a social perspective but also understand handing over your children to strangers is the hardest thing. But you will get to know them and the boys will show you if they were unhappy there. My son started preschool at 2 and it's been the best thing . Can't wait to see you reunited with Katie xxx
Here in the US, the children start school at 3. Check your local schools to see if they have Pre-k 3😊
As a Canadian, please make sure you’ve done a lot of research in the American school system, in particular mass shootings. That phrase itself sounds wild but the amount of school shootings in the US is shocking😥
I watched this tic tok on not sending your child to American schoold with light up flashing shoes which we all do in the UK for that exact reason as it could cost them there lives! Horrifying, you made such a valid important point us brits don't even consider thank you xx

Elle day care is a get option .The boys will have such fun . I tried having someone in for our twins ..Its didn't feel right .Saint is at the age where he will have so much fun..Your New style of vlogs are amazing ..Each week you will feel more and more at home Plus once your things arrive it will be amazing . Elle, I just got around to watching this vlog because I have been busy unpacking from a recent move. I too left friends and family. However, I realized today that I've accepted this move so much better because of your enthusiasm; so "thank you". I think seeing our Children happy will continue to bring us peace and contentment. Also, any material you post is delightful!!!
I´m a recent subscriber and absolutely love watching your videos. I´ve moved from UK to Spain and completely understand the homesick feeling- being in the place you dream of living without family and friends can be tough at times. I´m learning that it´s very normal to have days where I might feel a bit low but the good days outweigh this. You should be very proud of yourselves with all you are achieving and for following your dreams :)

My kids both told me so - at some point they needed a social connection with bobbins their own age more than I needed the childcare! ❤ it’s a guilt thing for us but I am ssoooooooo glad I did as come school they settled in so well with the same social flow of a school day - hindsight is such a powerful beast but now with 6 and 8 I’m so glad I sent them from 2 xxx

Look for Mother’s Day Out programs at churches in your area! Also with summer coming up different places like YMCA has children day camps and activities, the library has fun stuff to take them to, you can put Saint in soccer or t-ball!

Mondays are a popular day for some business to close on… especially if they’re open on Sat/Weekends. For school options later on, one option could be homeschooling... there are lots of homeschool groups & activities where the children and parents socialize with one another. There are lots of really good A+ schools and daycares also. So exciting watching y’all’s journey… God bless.

Sometimes in life you meet people that you know are your kind of people and I know we would be besties! I love your content and relate to you and your life so much. I have quite a few family members with learning difficulties, I lost my Dad nearly 3 years ago, I too love America and I’m a kind hearted soul like you. I admire your beautiful family unit and how much you all love each other. Only difference is I’m a bit older, don’t feel it tho! I’m loving your content so much at the moment and it excites my soul watching. I’m a shopaholic so anything to do with seeing US shops I ❤ We’re visiting Florida again for Christmas this year and I’m so excited!! Loved this Vlog! You are all living your best life. I am from down south in Uk and up north, and i get pangs of homesick but its less often. Your family are literally a flight away. As long as you have your immediate family you will be fine. Just remember this is a super exciting time for your family and nothing has to be forever. You can move anytime and experience life. Once you make some friends your life will be great. Your mum would he so proud of you for chasing your dreams. When i now go down to South to visit it is lovely but them i cant wait to get back " Home" . You need some girly momma friends to go for a coffee and a chin wag with and shop!. Feel the feelings as they come. Its all part of the process. Love to you all xxx Would love you to do a Thrift store come shop with me. I went to one when i was a child and remember getting proper cheerleader pom poms!!! X
Elle, it's only natural you are feeling homesick a lot has changed for you all, but you all look very happy. Your babies are so adorable the way Romeo looked at you at the end of the vlog was so precious. You are all complete now you have Herbie and Hector. 🙂

The US schooling system has been hard to navigate as a Brit also. We did 2 days part time preschool from the age of 2, moving to 3 half days. It’s been great for socialization. Mandatory schooling starts at 5 in the US, not 4 like in the UK so that’s something to consider also
Could you look at a combo of both? Daycare 1-2 days a week so Saint get that's social life and you can meet other parents/make friends, but nanny the rest so you can still have evenings to yourself if you wanted and Saint can have care/a bond with someone else too

I understand that you are homesick to me life is way to short and goes by so quickly so i could never imagine to live far from my family or friends because in the end of the day thats all that matters ❤🙏❤️

Oh my...how touching was that picture book sent by your dog boarding company in the UK? It made me tear up along with you Elle. I can also understand how you feel about starting to get a bit home sick because it happened to me after the first year we moved to Texas. We were just so busy trying to settle and get ourselves acclimated in that first year that the excitement was still so fresh. It wasn't until year 2 of living here that the home sickness kicked in and I mean depression as well. We left all our friends & fam back home and only had each other & our dogs out here. At one point I wondered if we had made a big mistake. We've now lived in Texas several years along are finally feeling at home in our new state. Give yourselves time. Everything will fall into place in it's natural course. Really wish we lived nearby so we could be friends. My husband & Con would get on great since he's a huge Arsenal fan as well. 😉 Please, please, please do vlogs in Marshalls, TJ Maxx, Homegoods, Kirklands, Costco, or Sam's Club (Wal-Mart's equivalent to Costco). Would love to see what y'all think of those stores. Much love from Fort Worth, Texas! 😊🌹🏡

There is also massive amounts of home school groups in the US and you don’t need to be of school age to home school, this can be an incredible social experience if you don’t go down the root of school/daycare. It’s great your taking your time with this and looking at all your options ❤
