  • I'm 55, my son is 18, he knows and loves all 80's music and knows which bands sang what. He says I'm so lucky to have grown up in the 80's, I agree, best music and fashion ever.

  • I’m a 25 year old black man. I grew up in Ghana, Africa but moved to Canada when I was 12. Back in Ghana we listen to any type of music that sounds good. So my black friends are always surprised when I can sing the full lyrics to 60s,70s,80s songs flawlessly. It amazes them and they end up enjoying the classics with me.

  • I'm 78 now and this song is still as fresh as when I first heard it 40 years ago in 1982 when I was in the prime of my life at 38. Enjoy life while you're young, it doesn't get any easier but I am now a lot more grateful and appreciative.

    • not in Muslim countries and Indian culture, they marry girls 12 years old. Mohamad married a 9 year old girl. A different time and it was sanctified by God. Now a days we are governed by modern day law. Back then and today in some cultures, when a female is at the age of menstruating, they can marry as a woman's role in life is to give birth to children, and that is the bottom line. Not about sex with young girls. it's about a man making a female have babies as it written by God.

We even cut a bill, so we could make our jigsaw puzzle to connect again, with the fabulous people we met on our long weekend. A brilliant weekend, had by all. It's amazing how a song can connect you in many ways. TY. xo

Live acoustic with no autotune or digital enhancements. Stay safe and keep on rocking in the '020s.

Now a days we are governed by modern day law. Back then and today in some cultures, when a female is at the age of menstruating, they can marry as a woman's role in life is to give birth to children, and that is the bottom line. • On this day in 1982 {April 24th} John Mellencamp performed "Hurts So Good" on the ABC-TV program 'American Bandstand'... One week earlier on April 18th it entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart at position #82; and on August 1st it peaked at #2 {for 4 weeks} and spent over a half-year on the Top 100 {28 weeks, and for 16 of those 28 weeks is was on the Top 10}... And prior to its 4 weeks at #2, it had spent 4 straight weeks at the #3 position... On June 13th it reached #1 {for 1 week} on Billboard's Mainstream Rock chart... The four weeks it was at #2 on the Top 100, the record at #1 for those four weeks was "Eye of the Tiger" by Survivor... Mr. Mellencamp will celebrate his 63rd birthday this coming October 7th...

They listened to the old country, Loretta Lynn, Dolly Parton, the highwaymen all the great. I had older sisters who liked john Denver, the eagles ,3 dog night ccx and so on. I was into Donny and Marie, Captain and Tennile, some maney others. John Cougar was in college and now. He sang about things I could relate to. We listened to his music when partied in college. Abd I still listening, not neccesarily parting but enjoying it and still relating to the words

Psychiatry. a person who has masochism, the condition in which sexual or other gratification depends on one's suffering physical pain or humiliation. 2. a person who is gratified by pain, degradation, etc., that is self-imposed or imposed by others. 3. a person who finds pleasure in self-denial, submissiveness, etc.

    • +dyad2r1 --- Consider the reasons for you posting this. Is it going to change anything, unlikely. But you, like most, including myself, get pleasure in stating your opinions. Though in this case it is insulting to the way other people feel. This is called sadism. the condition in which sexual or other gratification depends on someone else's suffering. I personally don't get why anyone one would want to give or receive any kind of pain, whether physical or emotional such as insulting someone's way of being or humiliating them because of it. I know people like this on both sides and they are not "sick" nor are those that are usually the givers of pain abusive, at least those I know. For the most part they trade off. I have fantasies that I am sure that they would find unappealing just as I find their actions unappealing.
