My parents used to gaslight/psychologically manipulate me by saying “take your medication” every time I justifiably reacted in anger to anything they did, so it really resonated with me. I agree with your tweet that 98% of depression case can be fixed. I think most people need to understand this and fix their own lives and take agency like you say. Much respect

    • Depends... neurological disorders like ADHD are genuine conditions that won't just get better by hitting the gym, getting a "grindset", and beating your chest. It's an unchangeable neurological condition and as someone who HAS ADHD, getting work done and doing things like exercising become much much more achievable when you're on the right medication. There's truth to people having unhealthy dependence on prescription medication, but the author of this video using something like ADHD as his first example exposes a certain ignorance.

  • This timing could not be more perfect. I'm ready to start working out, getting a job, drinking coffee, and I want off of my depression medication because not only has its help been ok but not monumental, but the side effects too. I don't want to depend on medication unless I've tried everything else FIRST! like diet and lifestyle. medication helps a lot of people, but we are in a generation where we use it as a bandaid solution for every issue we come across and that is dangerous.

I decided to fix my sleeping habits, and everything has changed. Never in my life have I been woken up at 5 a.m. and felt so fresh. I have a few tips for you guys - turn on night shift from 9pm - use an eye mask - turn off everything that has light - sleep before 12am( this is the hardest) -listen to deep sleep music ( sounds npc but this is the most important one lmao) trust me these will absolutely improve you by quality

  • I remember back in 2020 I was dealing with major anxiety. I don’t really know where it stemmed from but I was having panic attacks almost daily for a while. Talked to my doctor and she kept prescribing me medication to treat depression and I remember taking one, breaking out and then it triggered another panic attack. I’m not one to take meds anyways but that let me know that I just had to figure this shit out naturally. Started meditating more, being aware of what triggered my panic attacks/anxiety and I pretty much figured out how to stop panic attacks and changing my negative thoughts to more positive thoughts. Over time I slowly but surely reduced the frequency of anxiety attacks to the point that I don’t ever have em anymore. If I went the medication route. I’d probably still be dealing with anxiety since I would’ve never learned how to actually solve the issue.

  • I felt like I was aware of some of these distractions in my life but I never really took action. This video opened my eyes, it told me to wake up. One tip I can give from my own personal experience is to surround yourself with people that support and strive for the same goals and expectations for yourself as they do. Don't let others influence change who you are. If you want to change, TAKE ACTION.

  • 1:22 very impressed to hear someone speak out about this, as someone with ADD and autism I relate a lot. I always refused to take those drugs, to all my fellow "special cases" there is nothing wrong with us, our brains just operate differently, if not better
