Lyrics:
And how I tried
So hard to hide the pain
What bad temper we’re keeping
And so I followed a light
Into the night
And you kept me waiting
In the dark with no place to hide
‘Cause we are more than our disguises
We are more than just the pain
And I’m standing here laughing at my shame
‘Cause you’re my twin flame
You’re my twin flame
And you got me so cold
When you pull away
And now our hours feel
So numbered and small
Holding love for the keeping
Did I do something to wreck it all
‘Cause we are more than our disguises
We are more than just the pain
And I’m standing here just callin’ out your name
‘Cause you’re my twin flame
You’re my twin flame
And you got me so cold
When you pull away
You’re my twin flame
You’re my twin flame
And you got me so cold
When you pull away

  • This is her best music video so far. The cinematography is so beautiful. It's so dreamy and magical. It's like she's a medieval princess in a 70s horror movie. I also love the animation in the beginning. No modern artist does music videos like Natalie. You can pause the video every second and it's gonna be one of the most beautiful images you've ever seen.

  • I had this friend, her name was Laura. She was really into Weyes Blood, and one of her favorite songs was Twin Flame. Sadly, she passed away three months ago, couldn't beat cancer. I'm gonna see Weyes Blood in November, hoping she'll play this song so I can sing my heart out in honor of my friend Laura.

    • I guess it's a dominant 7th chord that escapes into a different zone somehow? // By the way, did anyone catch that the drum-machine pattern is paying homage to Howard Jone's 80's ballad "No One is to Blame." (for that reference, I recommend avoiding his video and just listen to the audio, which is better quality). Child of the 80's here, so I was freaking out when started hearing her intro beats here!

  • Reminds me of the tale of "The Bluebeard", where a wealthy, murderous husband (who has previously killed off all his previous brides) trusts his new young bride to stay alone one night in their massive castle. His only demand, that she not open the room at the way back of the castle....well, long story short, she ends up finding the key and opens the door to the room, revealing all the previous corpses (in various states of decay) of her husband's brides! Idk if this was Weyes Blood's inspiration, but regardless this music video AND song are hauntingly beautiful!! 💞
