  • I personally think that the kali change towards mira should’ve always been the thing. I tried it when kali came out and my thought process was it’s a gadget that pierces and detonates both sides, therefore that explosion SHOULD pop the mira canister, but it didn’t. It made sense in my head so i personally welcome it, but the ash change tho, not as much. Sure it buries itself and then explodes kinda like the lance, but the lance is fundamentally different from ash’s charge.

  • Frags still accomplish a job: They force you to move. That’s still useful. If you throw a frag at the guy holding elbow on Oregon basement, assuming no denial, they HAVE to move, either risking a swing, losing the control, or get blown up. Frags are still good. Now they’re not objectively oppressive. I think this is one of the better ways they could’ve balanced them.

    • And to the people that are saying they could have balanced it other ways. The frag grenades part of the video actually has solutions they tried and why they didn't implement them. Pause the video at 10.02 to read all the ways they tried to balance frags and why they chucked them out

  • I think Fenrir’s ban rate on both PC and console is indicative of how annoying his gadget is. And on top of that, he has a great primary and a soft destruction secondary. Too much upside for one op if you ask me

  • grenades needed changed. ANY instance in siege where you pick certain operators solely because of ONE thing that gives an unfair advantage (jaeger acog, warden 1.5) has always proven to be unrealistically unfair. i think this change puts grenades in the exact spot that they shouldve been day 1 - utility clearing and POTENTIAL kills, not free guaranteed kills.

    • Yeah that's absolutely true, I think what they did is great They could've gone for the realistic approach too, where frags grenades bring a whole lot of killing in a big ass range but not much destruction but since their target was mainly the killing potential and not the destruction I guess it wouldn't have made much sense

    • ​@@goncasn8161Speaking of realisim, I think the change is more realistic cause nobody IRL is gonna hold a lethal explosive fuze in their hands. I've never been in the military, but I'm pretty confident that "cooking" grenades doesn't happen. Also, you cant "cook" any other nades (like stun grenades) so why should operators suddenly be able to let go of the lever on frag grenades.

  • For Frags, in theory could one shoot open the first layer of floor boards above them and try to tuck the nade in between the floor boards? It wouldn't be nearly as potent as the "Surprise, nade from below" aspect, but I am wondering if this could be done.

    • You definitely could and I have done it before but with the new 2 sec impact fuse, if you mess it up your gonna have a grenade fly right back at you and blow up quickly

    • @@Janky_Banana 2 sec is plenty of time to move, especially if you move right aftee throwing. You don't have to watch it and sit still. Besides you would probably have to throw it at an angle anyway to get it inbetween the floor boards. I just am not sure how practical it is to set all that up

    • @@asherdempster4992 neither grim or iq is massively overpowered. heck, grim is one of the lower side of pick/ win rate. dont really think he needed a nerf. util for both of them is pretty mid, so a solid gun is nice to round them out. fire rate is pretty low too.

Yet they change the base damage to 42 which makes it a SHIT assault rifle stat wise. It was already mid tier before but now its shit tier without the extended barrel. They wanted to give us a choice but now the extended barrel is a must pick on that gun to not make it absolutely shit. Ubisoft has no clue how to balance

  • Osa will be interesting with frags. The claymore works very well with her gadget as a makeshift doorway trap so it’ll be a tough choice depending on the site.

  • I think the frag grenade nerf is good. I always thought it was crazy that attackers with frags could cook it perfectly & kill defenders from below, seemed real OP because there's almost no good way to counter that. Also, it really influences pick rate on attackers with frags. Good change.

    • Considering Fuze and his pucks, those nades are extremely powerful by all accounts. No warning, no way to counter/deal with it, and if your dedicated roamer isn't constantly sweeping the lower floor, your teammates become an easy pick.

  • I play quickplay a lot and i realllly hate that they aren't reverting the quickplay 2.0 changes, at least the sites being visible from the start part. Quick play is so ass with sites being visible from the start.

  • From a realism point of view, which I know it's not the most important thing since siege isn't a realistic shooter but still, cooking the granades without the safety spool being removed is not possible, the fuze is supposed to start once that spool is removed. This is why games like insurgency sandstorm have that mechanic built in. You can either throw a grenade with just the pin removed, or you can cook the granades by removing the spool but once you remove the spool there's no turning back (because of logic and realism). I figure this is the best middle ground that ubi should implement.

  • Op idea. Sticking with attacker theme of vertical plays as of late, an attacker op with a deployable half camera half mine gadget. Op gets 2-4 mines, one side is a mine dealing X amount of damage that activates on defender movement; other side is an emp camera with one shot. Deployed into destroyable floors and ceilings (and maybe walls???). Mine detonating does not destroy the cam. Gets Vigil's primary gun with up to 2x scope or French shotgun, and P226 (or maybe machine pistol??). Stuns or can opener or claymores for secondary gadets. 2 speed.

  • maestro buff is really sick. everyone has forgotten about the menace that is the alda, but it might be time for a comeback. also, wholeheartedly agree with the points on frags. ubisoft is finally (somewhat) working towards a specific game design philosophy with siege, and old frags just didnt fit into it.

  • IQ gets frags back so I’m really happy with that. I use all 3 of her primaries, so I’m not too concerned about the 552 and I can probably adjust to the recoil. I’m still disappointed by casual 2.0. Ubi should definitely not be feeling confident about that one.

  • Having things in the game that add completely and raise the skill ceiling is good. Removing those things are bad. What they should do is keep the fuze the way it was and add an operator that can couter the frags from below. Maybe deployable metal mats you can place on the floor. Taking away emps is not good, they should go to other operators or have both on the operators that get frags.

  • My only issue with mira change is that it’s given to the most used attack op instead of a lesser used one. Like maybe a zero, or zof, Flores. Overal a okay thing. With potential both ways.

    • @@jamerson4967 That's the thing. the wording is only for drilling gadgets. That means that unless they change Zero's gadget to drilling it wouldn't be able to break through Mira's window. Zof and Flores breaking mira's gadget with their own gadgets would be a bit too much IMO As much as it would be nice to give other ops ways to break Mira's window, it would be too severe of a nerf honestly. At least with Ash using her gadget is fine because it can be stalled with wamai/jager and Kali got quite the buff since if I remember right, Ash's gadget should fail when hitting electrified surfaces while Kali's doesn't, meaning that if Ash sees a Mira window on an electrified wall it should destroy itself immediately but the same is not true for Kali

    • @@muchluck7981 zero gadget makes the most sense of the ones I listed. As he can “drill “to the other side. Why it isn’t a drill gadget Doesn’t make sense. My concern is cuz ash is the most played op on attack. By making her the op to counter Mira she’s gonna be played countered just about every game. Ash is also the poster child of the Run in gun meta we are in and giving her the counter doesn’t sit well with me. On a lesser used op like those mention or others would make more sense.

Maybe they don't want Zero being used that way as while that would be cool, they don't want Zero to suddenly use his utility to destroy mira windows. remember he has 4 of those cameras so that means that with a jager/wamai combo, they would need to dedicate all their utility just to protect the mira window, excluding the use of flashbangs. As for Ash, I don't think you need to worry about that. the change will mainly affect mira windows that are directly facing objectives and playing ADS/Mag-nets would be the obvious counter to Ash. combo with the grenade changes and I feel that this will be a proper test for Mira mains and their window placement. also Ash is not as popular on PC so it may be more of a console issue

  • When you isolate the SG552 than ye, this gun has 10 more rounds than the FAL Para and has less recoil for 1 less damage point. You also could make a case for Grims weapon needing some tuning since can passively spot enemies and then just laser them though walls or something. I can see the reasoning behind it But IQ? Christ almighty noone picks her and the only reason for picking her is the SIG (appart from the my fellow AUG enjoyers out there) so there are even less reasons now to play IQ

  • I really vibe with the Maestro change, and I think IQ getting her frags back (even with the cook nerf) is pretty interesting. Though, I was thinking Ubi should give Fenrir a small QOL "nerf", since players seem to not want to play against him. They should make his mines glow (similar to a Reyna blind in Valorant) when you get blinded, so you have an easier time figuring out where to shoot, instead of trying to look through the purple smoke with only a directional indicator.

    • I wonder how it will effect comp as that was one of the best ways to start a push and gain momentum with a free pick. Probably go back to util meta as ubi has been trying to force people to coordinate their team gadget picks and not just bring 5 one man army ops

  • You are talking about kills with nades but you keep forgetting there are alot of scenarios where we use the nade from below to take the utility that feels really hard to remove, and the people who are saying its a good change i think it goes both ways. People who werent accurate with nades and people who could accurately nade, they are just removing the skill expression from the game the way. Removing 1 shot headshot wasnt the option but to make the game faster instead of keeping to make it slower, so if a guy is mechanically good he would feel good about it, now its not rewarding shit. Removing spawn peeks also the runouts

  • I wish they would rework IQ instead of making her worse man. I'm sure competitive players use her good but man she is useless to 90% of people myself included. I love her as an op and love her guns but good god does her ability just suck now, especially with quickplay 2.0 having sites revealed at start now. Vigil also seems kinda useless right now.

  • I think a better way to balance the grenades would have been to make the cook timer to be random so its a gamble to cook them.

  • I honestly think the frag changes are great. It's not ideal, but it accomplished a lot with balancing and gives them a unique place instead of a must pick. I think the only other way they could have balanced the cooking is to make it a range of how long it takes to blow (give or take a half second) so you could try to air detonate them, but not it's a risk/reward scenario. But i think the change they did is way simpler and easier for players to understand to. More intuitive.

  • I think that the frag grenade change is a super healthy change. It doesn't diminish their usefulness, just eliminates the unfun ways people were using them. Dying to a floor nade was super unsatisfying and unfun. This new change allows them to keep their intended use (room clear) in a very nice, consistent way that I think will be a huge net positive for their balancing going forward. It also gives them more balance dials to play with. Nades not making people move enough? Decrease the timer by .25 seconds. People eating nades and surviving? Increase damage. It's a super promising change that I'm happy to see that should help increase game longevity. Plus, now you need to be strategic in their use again

    • Cuz the extra health is insane and sites where you have the option to take a rook is usally on maps that dont require much util like Coast. Many of those times you go against a kali and render her useless. Pluss when paired with doc a heal puts you at 165 HP

  • the grenade change is really a good thing. there was effectively no counter to grenade vert play and strategies like that are not good for game health. new op looks fun, new map looks great. really excited for this season

  • I want them to get rid of the ranked map pool. Every map should be playble in any mode. If you dont like the map ban it... I also think the enemy team should be able to see what map your banning and vice versa so that you can pick another one.

  • I mean the military trains personnel to throw it as soon as possible NEVER cook. there is one rule where they can "cook" for a maximum of 2 seconds when clearing indoors. So imo bouncing the nade to shorten fuse time is fair in comparison to real world applications. I feel like this change is good for the game. It removes the feel bads when say a lower skill player such as myself gets blown up by a nade from below. Yes, it is simplifying the game. But its already and still an extremally complicated game. The game is clearly intended to be a hero shooter. Grenades shouldn't be valued higher then the main gadget, because then what is the point of the main gadgets? I feel like its unreasonable to be upset by this change when looking at the big picture.

  • Even with the extra damage in the current commando build, it’s not to the point where it’s OP. If the damage was the issue, then that’s all they should’ve nerfed. Increasing the recoil is overkill. Lions current kit is perfect as it is, especially as a support character. They really shouldn’t have touched it and given frags to nomad instead.

  • I dont get the hate for the nade change. They are arguably the most powerful gadget attackers have at their disposal, when they are supposed to be on the same level of smokes and flashes. It only makes sence they are removinf what made nades so oppressive.

  • If casual 1.0 came back on top of improvements to ranked this would’ve been even better. But so far 7/10 patch notes. Also ash needs a speed nerf Gonne six needs should have two shots instead of one Nade change good

    • More nades means the gonne isn't as needed anyway since they mostly do the same job - the gonne just doesn't kill people and explodes instantly. It totally needs more shots to be useful though since grenades are abundant
