Avenged Sevenfold - Mad Hatter (Lyrics)
From the manor a cutting whisper
Rising vapors through clocks of gold
Gilding fire unchains the demons
With undercurrents far too strong to hold
The sun burned out today
And fools are dancing in the rain
Scarred by the acid stain
And on the shelf a jar that holds my brain
Nightfall hunts us all from the shadows
Cynical beauty now lights the halls
Before the flicker there's only blackness
The end is coming and all my friends are dead
The sun burned out today
And fools are dancing in the rain
Scarred by the acid stain
And on the shelf a jar that holds my brain
Gripped by an empty world
Suffer the crushing weight
Madness will crawl inside
Alter the sober state
They're feeding all the voices in my head
Slowly we're bled
Slowly we're bled
Slowly we're bled
Slowly we're bled
Slowly we're bled
The labyrinth hedges return to soil
Mother's weeping will go unheard
The dove that once flew here through the mazes
Had seen the darkness and chose to take its life
The sun burned out today
And fools are dancing in the rain
Scarred by the acid stain
And on the shelf a jar that holds my brain
Gripped by an empty world
Suffer the crushing weight
Madness will crawl inside
Alter the sober state
They're feeding all the voices in my head
They're feeding all the voices in my head
They're feeding all the voices in my head
They're feeding all the voices in my head

    • AIC, Soundgarden and STP vibe to it. Mainly AIC and Soundgarden vibe with hints of STP. I mean the Sun burned out today? Black Hole Sun anyone? And the harmonizing? Classic AIC. No surprise since that's 2 of their many influences there.

  • “ The labyrinth hedges return to soil mothers weeping will be unheard.” This probably refers an Irish myth god Danu the god of agriculture and how she is crying because this “evil” brings death to her plants. And this is a teaser to ancient eagle in my opinion. “The dove that once flew here through the mazes had seen the darkness and chose to take its life.” I personally think this was telling the story of Perseus (Zeus’s son) who ride a Pegasus into battle and how he saw the darkness one day when he looked down while riding his Pegasus and was corrupted into The Zombie Warlord (The Main antagonist of the map ancient evil)
