"He made me feel like Im 13 yrs old..." such humility. And much respect to Dimitrov!
he wanted to say 18 yo, then he realized he was already an GS winner at 18
It’s similar to how Kyrgios described Federer. He can make you feel really bad out there where nothing you do works.
@@c3vznKyrgios is not even a top 10 player.

Well Carlos is Grand Slam winner and number 1 so should not be losing to this one hander who never made Grand Slam finals and was never number 1.
This is why I adore Alcaraz.. Most top players have egos too big and would say “yeah I played really badly today, I wasn’t myself”. You would never hear them say “i left the court happy with my level” as Carlos did, giving full credit to Grigor for playing exceptionally. This level of sportsmanship is rare 👏👏👏
Cough cough Novax
Are you two retRds? He said he played well because he really did, it was Grigor that was exceptional. Alcaraz saying this says nothing about what he would've said had he played poorly.
@@nihilus1626you mean cough cough nadal surely? Go back and rematch every interview both nadal and djokovic gave when they were defeated and you will see how wrong you are

Carlos' parents really did a great job bringing him up. He seems so well behaved and respectful. A really great guy.
As italian I'm for Sinner, but I like very much Carlos; he deserves all the compliments and respect for his sportmanship and humility. Real champion at 360°
Carlitos é un grande campione. Grigo é stato poetico. Solo Federer mi emozionava così..
Carlitos was all class, and Grigor is all business. Love both these guys. Grigor was just channeling goats tonight.
Carlitos' sportsmanship is one of the things that has taken him this far
Love his honesty. He can only improve if he’s honest with himself
How so? I don't see the so called sportsmanship

@@ultrasound1459 I hope someone reports you to KZhead.
@@logicrule If you can't see the sportmanship, you should do some serious soul-searching about yourself...
I admire Carlos for the sporting way he unfetteredly congratulated his winning opponent without caveats. This is most admirable for his adolescent age.

It is good, but no-one is disrespecting Dimitrov because he's been so humble and nice over the years, and everyone knows that.
Even the way he avoided saying he was unhappy with his level in China. No one would've held it against him, but he still found a way to say that without diminishing Grigor's win
Carlos is so respectful of his opponent by giving him the credit he deserved. He said he played well which means Dimitrov played really well to win. Ben Sheldon please take note. Love the Spaniard ❤
Very honest spoken words. He is young, he is full of talent and has a gentle heart, so it feels like. Good luck young man. May god bless you. Dimitri was amazing last night. Full of energy, power and the will and convincement to win.
Not too long ago Carlos said that he would have loved to play against Roger Federer at least once in his life. I think today he got a little taste of what playing Roger Federer would feel like. Grigor's style is the closest thing to Roger we have on tour now and today he was godlike. He moved so smoothly, was aggressive every time he had the chance to, but yet very elegant. I love both of them, but it feels so good watching Grigor expressing this level of tennis.
As a Sinner fan I can't help but have respect for Carlos, these two guys are so humble and down to earth and I'm sure they will entertain us for the next 10+ years
Lot of respect for him admitting he was happy with his level. Pretty much any other top player would've been lamenting about how "badly" they played and taking away credit from their opponent (while saying "not to take anything away from his victory").
Carlos will come back stronger. He is the real KING OF TENNIS, GOAT
He’s very honest and humble. As a Dimitrov fan (who also likes Alcaraz when he plays against anyone else), I really appreciate how gracious he is in defeat. True champion
His fans doesn’t believe that though 😅
@@gabrielametodieva8360 Same. I'm a big Alcaraz fan but was blown away by Grigor's masterful tennis tonight. Carlitos was absolutely correct in his assessment. Unplayable.
when djokovic lost to arnaldi the fist thing he said was that he didnt play at his best. imagine having this many titles and still being a shitty loser.
dimitrov was redlining. everything was clicking. his first serve, forehand, movement and net game were great, but i’ve never seen his backhand and return perform at that level. roger-esque
Bang on! He seemed to be getting stuck into many of Carlos' service games. Grigor was constantly pressuring him.
Yes everything was. The thing about his consistency is, it rarely repeats. Nardi had the same fate against Djoko in IW
In fact when is backhand works there is no way to beat him
Dimitrov never showed this form before and nobody saw this coming. Carlos always beat him before easy so this should have been a slam dunk for Carlos who is number 1 and Grand Slam winner. Dimitrov can't normally handle top players.
@@jonfreeman9682 he actually played like this at Madrid vs Carlos to begin the match but couldn't sustain it
Alcaraz is so honest and candid about the match and how well Dimitrov played. He was happy with his level of play but Dimitrov was just better. How nice that he can admit that his opponent just played too well for him to win! Great guy!
Really love Carlitos humility and graciously concedes defeat to a better player today. Grigor played god mode tennis . Congrats Grigor and wish you all the best in semi
Listening to Dimitrov is a pleasure. Intelligent, elaborate analyses and such a pleasant demeanour.
As italian i feel the rivalry between Alcaraz and Sinner and i'm happy when Alcaraz loses matches, cause i always fear he's the best of the world. But i have to say that this guy is a honest person, with sportmanship, he finds no excuses about defeats. A good guy and a great champion. Greetings from Rome Italy
This guy... how can anyone dislike him! Talented, joyful, humble, honest... 💓
So happy for Grigor with the tournament he is having. He is so talented and if all these years he would have been able to have a stronger mind, more consistently, we would be talking about him as one of the greatest!
Same here. What a stunning game he brought. Hope he makes it past Zverev
Same here bravissimo Grigor
Great to see Dimitrov improving his game even now when most players have retired. Never thought he was Grand Slam material but he might win another masters. Always good to see players passionate about the game and still keep playing.
Marin cilic is more grand slam material? He needs only luck ;)
Congratulations to Dimi. Carlos you're classy as usual and so is Dimi. You have done well winning your first title of the year in Indian Wells and made it to QF here. Looking forward to seeing you on the clay. Vamos!
Carlos will come back stronger. He is the real KING OF TENNIS, GOAT
Both played great but this is Grigor chance to bookend his career with a big title. Don't think he can win Grand Slam but if he can bag this one it's not too shabby.
I love Alcaraz, who is humble and adorable, Sinner who is also humble but cool, and Meddy, who makes me laugh all the time with his antics and comments.
two of the best representations of ATP tour professionalism!
Carlos is a role model for the next generation of players. Despite his awesome once-in-a-generation talent, he is genuine, humble and shows a true love and respect for the game and his opponents. You gotta admire that. I hope the young ones watching tennis will pay more attention to him and Sinner than to the likes of Rune or Zverev.
Really impressive tennis from Dimitrov Bravo
he just played like a normal federer !
It seems Federer 2017 played today
Flashbacks, isn’t it? Same thought here. Grigor’s game today was almost as good as best Roger version from 2017.

It was absolutely amazing. Dimi showed the game against the top that everyone expected from him 8 years ago) when they compared him with Roger. It was super cool to see such level and stability. Insanely beautiful tennis played by him. I directly imagined how Federer in his best years would have beaten Carlito in exactly the same scenario.

This humble attitude of Carlitos will make him legendary irrespective of the number of slams he wins. Always be like this, kid.
Dmitrov has been around a long time and had one of his amazing games. They come in spurts now due to age and old injuries. Carlos will play good tennis and every now get one of these experienced older ones getting hot!!!!!
Great Carlos giving all credit yo Dimi. Think he did not play his usual game as Dimi dominated all the way not allowing carlos to do his own game. It ok you are still a kid learning and matuaring. Sad though but you will come with your own and game❤❤❤
This was an incredible match on many levels. First Dimitrov truly played out of his mind. It was unbelievable. But when Alcaraz was down a break in the second set at 1-4, it seemed like something really clicked, and suddenly, in true Alcaraz fashion, he raised his level (I mean it was like he got a video game style power up!) and just minutes later it was 4-4. I was certain Alcaraz would cruise to victory. The fact that Dimitrov held him off after the start of a comeback like that was truly unbelievable. And Alcaraz was absolutely right that his only mistake was not making what we change he made at 1-4 earlier in the match.
The reaction came up too late.
Well, both of theses two wonderfull tennis players showed during this interview than they were really aware of what was going on. Beautiful game and wise judgment from both in the end. It really makes me pleased and many other people too I suppose. Thanx to both of you guys for that huge gift, we need it.
Federer is back, so much talent from Dimitrov.
Well done Grigor👏👏
Carlos is 20. Grigor is 32. Carlos has won 13 titles already. Grigor has won 9 titles. It's fascinating to see Grigor win his last two matches against Carlos. It almost feels like what Roger did against Nadal, winning 6 of their last 7 matches even when Nadal regained the #1 ranking. If Grigor continues to be able to play the way he did today against Carlos, he could have a chance to win a major. He really was playing incredibly.
His level against Carlisle was major trophy lifter level against any possible player
Bravo Grigor!!
Amazing for tennis to have such incredible role models! Hard to put into words the respect and admiration for Carlitos!
You have to love this kid.
Love both Carlos and Grigor. Carlos is one of my favourite players to watch, and has been for the last 2,3 years, however, I'm so happy to see Grigor play great tennis again.
It looks like this may be Grigor's time to win another tournament. He's been playing incredibly well and with great confidence.
Hope so, especially given his next match
There's some big names still to get thru but rooting for Grigor. He won't win no Grand Slam but if he can win this it's huge for him.
Great match good luck for Gregor. Carlos had to realize it wasn't his game today. He started catching up in the second but it was too late. If it had been 5 sets, maybe. Would be sad if Dimitrov loses in the next round.

Fantastic tennis❤ great players
The biggest limitation for many fans, and even the journalists themselves, is that they don't understand that the performances of various players depend heavily on the level and characteristics of the opponents they face, the level of play of both players in that match, and especially the type of surface on which they play. The cement surface at Indian Wells, for example, enhances Carlos's playing characteristics; it's a slower synthetic/cement compared to others, where the ball bounces higher. However, when playing on faster or much faster synthetics, a player like Carlos struggles greatly against players like Jannik Sinner, Nole, Medvedev, and even Zverev. It depends a lot on the surfaces they play on: some surfaces favor certain players, and so on. It's a very simple concept, but it seems to elude even the journalists who interview the champions.
The tennis is there for Carlos, it’s only a matter of finding solutions against these different players. Very high lvl from Dimitrov, he played “aggressive” and found lots of angles.

Completely disagree. Dimitrov was moving too well and would have been able to put Alcaraz on the defensive with some tough angles. The only thing that worked for Alcaraz today was when he turned on the aggression down a break in the second set and forced some errors from Dimitrov. Unfortunately Dimitrov was able to withstand that pressure and close it out.

Tennis is like martial arts in many regards. Carlos is a great offensive player with exceptional defensive skills. His game is based on offense, and therefore, if one gets even more offensive against him he may struggle a bit, as he did today. Dimitrov said it: you cannot let him hit the ball [hard].
