Watching this made me feel like less defense is being played contrary to the narrative players are just getting better overall offensively. The offense part is true, but the lack of effort on the defensive side is just as obvious and contributes to the amount of points that are being scored today… Sincerely, someone who has no idea what they’re talking about
@cognacpapi54473 ай бұрын
Yeah Jordan and Kobe would average an easy 40 in today's game
@ArmandoKozomara3 ай бұрын
Also, the illegal defense rule meant that teams had to play man. The 90s and early 2000s, where teams played "real defense," was dominated by iso scoring and individual shot creation. This highlights defensive effort, since you actually got to see one-on-one defensive matchups way more. The offensive player still decided to shoot the contested shot. Nowadays, players give the ball up, team runs multiple actions in the same possession, and the floor is so spread now that a defender has to be able to guard all three levels of the floor AND guard their man while playing the coach's defensive gameplan. Even if you dropped Scottie Pippen and Rasheed Wallace in today's NBA, they wouldn't always get to showcase their defense because the player they're guarding would give the ball up, and probably run a play to empty one side of the floor, get somebody down hill, look for pin-downs, backdoor cuts, and open shooters, rather than just play one-on-one from the elbow.

I know it’s kinda of a side note but not mentioning Pippen even once in this video is kind of insane, or even throwing in that Rodman was traded to the bulls for them to even get that second 3 peat in the first place. Amazing video nonetheless
I grew up watching my Pistons at Cobo. Dave Bing was my hero, but we couldn't win with him or Lanier, and I thought we'd never win. The NBA always caught my eye as a youngster
I cannot believe you did not put the Kawhi clip with the iconic "is this the dagger? *dink dink donk* WHAAAAAAAA!!!!" commentary in there.
Bill russel and wilt chamberlein interviews were such a vibe
Watching this made me feel like less defense is being played contrary to the narrative players are just getting better overall offensively. The offense part is true, but the lack of effort on the defensive side is just as obvious and contributes to the amount of points that are being scored today… Sincerely, someone who has no idea what they’re talking about
Yeah Jordan and Kobe would average an easy 40 in today's game
Also, the illegal defense rule meant that teams had to play man. The 90s and early 2000s, where teams played "real defense," was dominated by iso scoring and individual shot creation. This highlights defensive effort, since you actually got to see one-on-one defensive matchups way more. The offensive player still decided to shoot the contested shot. Nowadays, players give the ball up, team runs multiple actions in the same possession, and the floor is so spread now that a defender has to be able to guard all three levels of the floor AND guard their man while playing the coach's defensive gameplan. Even if you dropped Scottie Pippen and Rasheed Wallace in today's NBA, they wouldn't always get to showcase their defense because the player they're guarding would give the ball up, and probably run a play to empty one side of the floor, get somebody down hill, look for pin-downs, backdoor cuts, and open shooters, rather than just play one-on-one from the elbow.
that sincerely part was completely correct
I wish the thumbnail matched with the rest of the “entire history of [blank], I guess,” thumbnails.
Bro how are you not huge. Here before you blow up
not mentioning d rose getting picked and being the youngest mvp is a crime
Dawg the Bill Walton section 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Now i know everything about NBA. Thank you.
Your banter is fucking funny. Love it.
this is good content
Bill Walton was just saying that Ucla was cooken dem boys, Bill and Wilt are like brothers😂😂
The lebron james era really only lasted 2 years 😂
4 chips and 10 finals appearances beg to differ
Great summary.
Honestly I would have loved to have been around to see the NBA in the 60s and 70s. The broadcasts have so much energy
Also including that entire Bill Walton rant about huskies and bears - thank you

history is literally one of the most fascinating things.
Love the video ever think of doing nfl or other sports?

Lakers traded for pau before the 08 finals. In the video you say it's after the finals. Amazing video!!
Bro shoulda ended the vid with wemby being drafted 😭 woulda been so clean
This video having audio of the 100 piece is worth watching the video alone, also the rest is pretty good
i heard about bill walton being a yapper but i never actually heard him commentate, this was the first time i actually have and god damn. bro got a masters degree in yapping
The dribbling thing is wrong, the malice at the palace was in 2004, Paul Gasol was on the Lakers finals appearance team in 2008.

Has a person trying to get into the NBA this was a great video I think the nba was much older but ww2 is older then the nba
This man really said “minny an appolis”
Magic played 1 game in that finals when Kareem went out. Nobody ever says that. Always make it seem like he started all 4 games. And he was 6’9. That was his position already. Him playing pg was the thing we should in aww about. Smh.
Watched about 5 videos, its about time i subscribe. Awesome channel
Bro forgot to mention a player that moved to south beach and people thought he was gonna be a bum. Just for that guy to drop a top 5 playoff game ever and one of the best whole series’ ever to be the first 8-1 seed upset
Why did you change the name of the video? It was what got me into it. Nontheless, great work, man!
Yo bill walton was just yapping his ass off
😭😭😭
True professional yapper 😂
Awesome video, especially considering the author's admitted youth. Only glaring omission was George Mikan
If you are a big college hoops head, you should make a video like this for NCAA. Maybe down the road when you get more subscribers though idk. This video is great, I'm going to share it.
Bill and wilt are so wholesome
Dr J's contract was sold to Sixers because Nets had to pay encroachment fee to the Knicks for playing in the same town.
Facts
Love the vid you need more subs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mannn you skipped over D Rose:/
Dribbling was introduced before 1959
What a video 👍🏾
Dame is not nearing the end also great vid
dope vid tho
Kinda disappointed you skipped the Dream Team, but I understand it because this is a video about the NBA and not basketball.
Man when you see bill wilt magic bird lebron and Kobe their aura DIFFERENT THOSE ARE BALL GODS 💯
Hey bro, this video is fantastic, and I really hope you keep growing and being successful. One small comment: when you make a funny joke that's obviously a joke, it makes it a little less funny when you follow it up with "just joking" :)
not including the greatest what if in nba history is here is wild...,"the rose that never blossomed"
Knew it was gonna be a good vid when it started with scottie barnes
how do you include the kawhi vs Phila shot in 2019 but not with the "is this the dagger?"
24:27 - dude is packing HEAT
