I’m not very into Pokémon competitive wise, I’ve always been more casual, but building a team like this was fun and helped me understand things a little better. Great video too by the way, the thumbnail and editing is fantastic like always. But it’s safe to say I lost this one.

Writing this as I watch: Venusaur (I’ll worry about the set later) Furfrou (oh, sets don’t matter, I’ll build it in showdown and send a pokepaste after) Okay now hear me out on this one, Aurorus. Trevenant EVERY day of the week, that thing is BULKY and can combo well. Honestly, I like noivern here. None of them really comboed but some solar beams from that thing in the sun ;) could do something. Bruh no prankster on klefki? Gimme that iceberg. Last one: Clawitzer is the ONLY choice here. No contrary malamar is just rough.

Tho I will say most pokemon I’d use in Kalos weren’t options lol If we were going pure Kalos, my team by the time I’d fight your gym would be Chesnaught(my fav Kalos starter), Heliolisk(one of my fav electric types), Sylveon, Lucario(with bone rush cause it’s iconic), talonflame(my fav regional bird) and Noivern lol Wonder if I could beat you with my personal team

Noivern is a must cuz it’s your best answer to ash greninja, as it’s the only non we get that can outspeed base greninja without a scarf and ohko with specs Draco meteor, I like gogoat with earthquake and milk drink for toxapex and trev with synthesis too. Also gotta take klefki for t wave and dual screens

When I build a Greninja, protean or battle bond, i always give it Aerial Ace bcs it covers 3 weaknesses Greninja has (grass,bug, fighting) and make Greninja good with physical attack bcs water shuriken was physical in gen 6, I also circle between rock slide,ice beam and gunk shot between gyms and dark pulse is so good with Greninja's special attack and flinch chances

I give mine Acrobatics. My Greninja i usually build usually is more on offense rather than defense. So i focus on speed and attack and sp. Attack. So no items for my boy

Already made my team, ill do the sets later. Blastoise (it seemed too sketchy for you to tell us its a water gym and give us Venusaur as an option. So i picked blastoise cuz water types and ice beam is too iconic for you not to give all your mons the funny ice move) Pyroar (all options here were bad but it can at least do something with sunny day solar beams or provide some support with snarl and helping hand) Aromatisse (good support mon, need I say less?) Trevenant ( it was either it or gourgeist but at least trev doesnt fold to special moves as easily) Dragalge (pretty bulky mon and can deal good damage with adaptability and specs, plus the team so far didnt really have a way to beat it besides greninja) Klefki (sorry avalugg is NOT touching the team when there are mostly sp attackers on Pokeeee's) Clawitzer (Malamar with no contrary? You serious rn?)

My team would be: mega altaria, espeon, ninetales with a z-move, (subzero slammer) dragapult with curse, clodsire, and meowscarada. Their nicknames will be: cloud, eclipse, freezer, a mom, cute, and petal. Keep in mind that this team is not kalos only if it were to be: delphox, sylveon, slurpuff, trevenant, meowstic (female) and clefki. (Yveltal if i beat the game) (Keep in mind the first is my showdown team and the second is what i would probably use if it was kalos only.) Do you think i will win? If so which team wins?
The only one i don't have in my showdown team is espeon, who i have one kick the cinderace in place of, I use cute and a mom as tanks (a mom has phantom force) and I use cute as a support as well. Curse is very useful. And Petal and one kick as backups with Petal being tankier and having ally switch. I use ninetales and altaria as the normal squishy attackers. Altaria has roost and return with dragon dance too. That's all the information about my team.

So you give Gen 6 Pokemon, but don’t even allow the trainer to pick the best abilities? Like Klefki with Prankster or Malamar with Contrary? And you deliberately leave out Aegislash, Talonflame, Florges, etc? That just ruins the fun and believability of the whole situation.
The point was to make it hard on the player, it's supposed to be like that for a harder experience, this is supposed to be a hard battle but people have had fun and won on their 2nd or first try, so I think that's just you friend but that's ok 👍
I don’t see it much in the spirit of being a Gym Leader if you have to impose restrictions on your challengers just to make yourself more challenging. No Legendaries I get and no gimmicks are fine, but only 21 options for Pokémon and a few aren’t even fully evolved or have the right ability? I think you just want to win more than you want to be a challenge.
