The many SYMPTOMS that I had during my journey with Advanced Stage Adrenal Fatigue

I was shocked by the many symptoms that I had. I did this video to help people to know how there is such a variety of ways that this illness can affect you. Perhaps you can relate to some of these symptoms. If you have any questions please feel free to ask.
I wanted to mention this symptom as well. The skin on my face was so dry and bumpy and burned. If I put any type of cream even healthy like coconut cream it burned. This was a horrible symptom and it lasted for so long like they all did. I just didn't want to leave it out as many of you have skin irritations with this illness as well.
If you could please like and subscribe I would so appreciate it.
It is my wish and my blessing that you all feel better soon.
Love, Petra

  • Everything you said is my story too. I know my dentist didn’t believe me when I said I had no energy to brush my teeth at the end of the day, or even in the morning. It sometimes takes me three days to work up the energy to shower. After that there is no energy or strength left to even hold a toothbrush. I have just discovered the ANS connection after 30 years of this misery. Wish me luck.

    • @@santeenlThere's nothing healthy with eating wheat. Gluten should be avoided when you are suffering from adrenal fatigue. It's very inflammatory and raises the blood sugar - which leads to more stress - adrenals needs to work more. A vicious cycle. Fat and meat is very important since they are the food for the parasympathetic nervous system. Helps the body to relax. Carbs is food for the sympathetic nervous system.

Of course, you already know this. Get some sunshine on your face first thing in the morning, too cold to put your feet in the grass for 10 seconds to, but step outside in grace and gratitude, taking to huge first breaths in through your nose, and then the rest through your mouth as much as you can possibly take in hold it for five seconds, and then let it out slowly with the sun on your face. It resets your circadian rhythms in sync to your autonomic immune system. • I had very similar symptoms Symptoms: Panic (could not go to the grocery store due to fear of panicking in public) Anxiety (racing thoughts feeling like I was dying, thought I had a brain tumor, horrible Brain fog,) Overwhelming sense of dread Lightheadedness Had no energy to speak (felt like a drag and felt like I needed to muster the last bit of energy to do it) No appetite Cold and sweaty feet and hands Dry mouth Neck and shoulder tension Chronic fatigue Odd facial and head sensations especially behind face in area of nasal cavity and temples (pins and needles or pressure) Constant diarrhea Insomnia did not sleep a whole year to wanting to sleep all the time (remember do not feel guilty to sleep..if your body is tired it’s telling you for a reason. Tell yourself you deserve it) I didn’t want to leave the house in fear I would have these symptoms out in public, but staying home would also trigger it. Family and friends said that I aged 5 years in a single year. I had gone through a really bad breakup and thought my ex would do whatever she could to take my kids away from me. That in addition to being inside for a whole year due to pandemic. My uncle and grandmother passed away within the same year. You don’t realize what toll some stressors could take on the body. Whoever is going through this stay strong and seek help in friends, family or medical practitioners.

  • Adrenal fatigue is in part caused by hyper vigilance or response to alarms and threats. The adrenals are triggered to fight or flight and the repetitive nerve excitations wears down the nerve endings . Focus is lost because they are still responding to the now past alarm. People who are sensitive like this are often good sentinels of looming disasters IF they are not too turned on to the adrenal flash. Imagine a cat that senses something and the hair stands up. In fact animal reactions are one of the first warning signs in earthquake situations. And humans are in part animals.

  • I recognize all these symptoms. I developed this adrenal fatigue after I had a burnout from a betrayal and disappointment that left me very angry. I couldn’t accept what was happening and I was consuming myself with anger. This happened in 2018 and I’m still trying to recuperate. The insomnia I developed from it has made the road to recovery even longer. A real vicious circle. I learned an important lesson from this. The only people who don’t get adrenal fatigue are those who don’t give a hoot about anything. They never get affected by anyone or anything.

  • Oh yes I have all these symptoms for years now . Anemia, so tired and wired all the time . Go to sleep around 3 or 4 in the morning and woke up after two hours , my longest night was 4 hours but waking up in between as well . In the beginning loosing weight over night and eating like mad during the night .dropped down to 39 kilo and I am a tall girl. It was as the life was being sucked out of especially during the nights. Now after 5 years my all of hair fell out and body hair as well. Lots of doctors don’t want to recognize this so called illness . I was rushed to hospital with heart palpitations and anemia it’s very frustrating to say the least . Hope you are doing better now . Kindness and light sending your way ❤

It's horrendous. I've just began a carnivore diet and it's helping and also looking into b1 deficiency as it affects the nervous system and the vagus nerve apparently the amagdyla doesn't respond correctly when we are b1 (thiamine deficient) I wish everyone here a healing journey. I feel that this is inappropriate for me to do. When you are very ill like this taking a certain supplement that someone might recommend to you could just send you under the bus. Even with being with a Dr who knew AFS I had paradoxical reactions all the time. Please be cautious with any recommendation from a random person. The system is very sensitive and weak. You can read some information on websites or watch some KZhead channels by Dr Lam as well as Dr Neville. I had to introduce supplements in such small amounts first. I mean micro-dosing. • I’m sorry I couldn’t get back to you sooner. Truthfully, these symptoms are common to many conditions and causes so there is really no way to clearly delineate a diagnosis for you. Perimenopause could increase the likelihood of these symptoms or contribute to a predisposition of AFS . As we know long Covid symptoms could also present these symptoms or contribute to AFS. In the same regard Long Covid could stress your body and contribute to perimenopausal symptoms as well. The effect of hormones on our physiology particularly in women has traditionally been understated. Both AFS and perimenopause are primarily affected by our hormonal cycles this it’s hard to distinguish if one is triggering the other. Sorry I couldn’t be more helpful. I’m just trying to be forthright. Please if I can be more helpful let me know. 💖Petra

Total Cholestrol dropped from 8.3 to 6.9 since December 2022. Through all the years all blood tests were normal. I was diagnosed with depression in 1988 and fibromyalgia in 2007. I was semi-bedridden from December 1999 to June 2003 because of fatigue. The dosage of the Fluoxetine was too low. I looked after my mom who had Altzheimers Dementia and in December 2017 my adrenal glands gave in. It's a miracle that I am still alive. • And we get surprised somehow that this happens to us. I am looking at just a small snap shot of what you have gone through and of course I am quite aware that there is so much more. It is a time for us to have compassion for ourselves. This is so common as you may know that labs can come back quite normal. There is a huge psychological component to AFS so it is very important to work with how we are thinking on a daily basis. Staying as calm as possible and avoiding as much stress as possible because when we feel these symptoms are body has become stuck in fight and flight and is interpreting through our 5 senses as everything is a threat somehow. We must listen to all soothing and inspirational things. No dramas, nothing depressing. Do you know how to meditate at all? Our goal is to work with the mind- to do whatever we can to try to get the body to understand it isn't in constant threat.

You are the one that has to do the work as it took time to get to this place so it will take some time to get to a healthier place. I always say that this is healing your entire life that you have been living. You are now going into a chrysalis. You are entering a new world where you will transform and this is also why it takes some time. You are changing. We can't be the same people that we were. There is much growth in this illness. Always come back here to ask questions I will do my best to help you. Stay as positive and grateful as possible , we are working on getting out of fight and flight and helping the body to calm down. • I have been suffering with heart palpitations for a few years now. At first i thought is was the thyroid, in 2017 hashimoto's disease was diagnoses. It was actually last month when i was reading a book about menstrual cycle that i learned that the heart palpitations might come from a dysfunction of the HPA axis. That adrenal fatigue was a problem in my body i knew since about 2016. But due to regular health care it didnt seem like there is a treatment. At least not according to my doctor. I recognize al lot of the things your talking about. But how can you get better? Or is this a forever thing? I was reading about it lately, and the salt cravings and low blood presure are also a part of this. The bad sleeping and waking up horrible.

      @petra3049@petra30492 ай бұрын
    • @petra3049 I think the adrenal fatigue might have come first, since I have had my first adrenal fatigue symptoms when I was 7 or 8 years. In that period i also had my first problems with my stools, as i can remember. In my early teens I had a lot of problems with muscles and joints pain, the light sensitivity begin back then and i started wearing sunglasses all the time. I still do. And in my early teens the candida itchy and burning bumps on my skin or in my eyes started. I left the family house at 18 (2007), after that I became tired all the time! Gained weight without i was realizing it. Had purple strains on my legs everywhere. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgie in 2009. In 2016 things got way worse, my period was gone, my brain wasn't functioning, my digestive system was not functioning, my eye sight was a problem. Was wearing glasses for that. I wasnt aware of skin and hair back then, i wasnt able to think about those. My body was far gone, but I wasnt able to learn that until years later, when things slowly got a little better. Hashimoto's was diagnosed in 2017 at age 27. I'm almost 35 now and still struggling to get my health back. It was due to the cycle book of Dr Lara briden I come to realize that maybe, the adrenal fatigue is the starting point of all of this. But in Dutch health care these things aren't acknowledged. Thats why I try to learn things myself, and hopefully, somewhere along the way, I can heal from this and still live a life. Or what is left of it.

The photophobia my dog and I are really close but for the past year I can’t stand him barking my head feels ready to explode . My history is complicated and now with hindsight I know I have been unwell for a long time. I’m 63 I had 2 episodes of Graves while I worked. Then in 2016 I lost my daughter it was totally devastating. She was the oldest of my three children and my other two had complete breakdowns, I couldn’t grieve or mourn her loss because my son and other daughter needed me. Within days Graves came back my resting heart was 100+ I couldn’t keep still had palpitations and didn’t sleep. So in March 2017 I had a thyroidectomy. After that my heart went back to normal but I still couldn’t keep still. The doctor assumed my Levo dose was too high, I was sure it wasn’t then I began to bite my tongue every time I spoke or ate eventually I looked at my tongue and noticed it was moving involuntarily. So my GP did an urgent neurology referral. I was diagnosed with Huntington’s disease. This is a disease from hell it’s a untreatable terminal diagnosis. Throughout all these doctors visits I have had raised inflammatory markers. I can’t fault my GP who tested all sorts of things to explain . Then last year I had shoulder problems and was diagnosed with Polymyalga Rheumatica and given steroids. I had a complete Cushing’s response back hump noon face and 3stone weight gain. This made me desperate my future is complete nursing care with peg feeding and catheters. The idea of going through that obese . Anyway I told the doctor no, no more steroids so I reduced it sensibly about 18 months ago. I hadn’t seen a doctor in person through all this so when I still felt ill in many of the ways you described,I had a private blood test to check my adrenal glands. I was expecting too much cortisol but The results were clear my cortisol was 34 (can’t remember range ) So I saw a endocrinologist and they did full adrenal profile and confirmed Addisons. Started hydrocortisone yesterday so really wary after the prednisone experience I don’t know if it’s helpful but the private test was with a finger prick of blood so didn’t need to be referred. I’m so sorry this is happening to you I understood how disenfranchised it makes you. The blood test company I’ll send a link

    • What stage are you in at this time, do you know? There are many things that are helpful for all of this. What are you presently doing to help yourself? There is a lot of valuable information in my videos I don't know if you have seen all of them. Try to find a specialist in adrenal fatigue. I went to Dr. Lam out of California. There are of course others who specialize in AFS. Also, you want to try to eat in a healthy way. A huge piece is getting the limbic system to calm down. Our sympathetic nervous system is basically stuck in fight and flight response. We are working on getting our systems into the parasympathetic nervous system. We do this by having all soothing information going into our bodies. Meditation, positive thoughts, gratitude, not listening to anything sad, dramatic, listening to soothing things. Watch your computer usage, phone usage and talking. Don't argue with anyone and stay away from people that provoke you. The list goes on. We have to try to stay as calm as possible during the ride of your life. Look at my other videos. There also is what's called EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique-Tapping) Nick Ortner- , The Gupta Program/The Secret of Amygdala Retraining, DNRS by Annie Hoppier -Dynamic Neural Retraining System, this is to name a few. You have to see what you are able to handle- for a lot of us in the advanced stages it feels too overwhelming so you have to see if you are able to handle it or not. The important thing is you don't want to do something that feels like it will create even more stress for you. Everyone has their own timetable with everything. I listened to Louise Hay- she is easy and a great teacher. Doing some coloring with markers in adult coloring books helped me alot. I had to stay focused so it helped me with the horrendous anxiety. Also, knitting or crocheting. Things that keep you focused. If it gets stressful than put it down. I really did listen to a lot on KZhead that helped me between gorgeous music, meditations, spiritual teachers, motivational speakers, anything that I could get my mind on to help me learn and stay calm and grow. I hope this is helpful. It's a huge topic. xoxo Petra

I had all but given up on any explanation because I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia in 1982 and then hypothyroidism in 1986 and I had 5 high risk pregnancies from 1984-1990 and then I have been sick with these symptoms ever since.

    • Hello there Jason. Firstly, it would be good for you to take a listen to my strategies video. This will show you many of the tools that I used to help myself. Also, my meditation video. I explain it in the easiest way. We all should be learning to meditate as its benefits are huge for the body and mind. Start to eat in a healthy way, limit coffee or try to switch to decaf. So many people are addicted to coffee, (water it down more or add more milk just to calm it down). Stay away from sugars if you can or at least limit them. Drink water if you can this is best. Eat when your body feels hungry -don't skip meals. The body is always talking to you. Your are hungry eat a little something. Start to get all good going into the brain. Soothing, relaxing music or listen to anyone that is inspirational. If you are on devices all day because of work or other take many breaks. Stop using them at least a couple hours before you go to bed. I don't know what you do for work or if you have a family or are single. You want to work on staying positive and grateful as much as possible throughout your day. Change your negative self talk into something positive. Interrupt the pattern. All of these are just instigators of the system. We are working on calming our nervous system and taking in all healthy information into our bodies and minds. Please ck out my other videos I feel that they will be of help. Any other questions please don't hesitate to ask. Please take care. Petra

    • You have to do certain things that I have talked about in many videos pertaining to strategies. All of these things add up to calming the nervous system down so the body can heal. You have to start to believe that you can heal and start taking some small action steps and build on those. 💖💖💖
