Fans ATTACK Fenerbahçe players | Disaster EXPLAINED

Following Fenerbahçe’s defeat of Trabzonspor, Trabzonspor supporters rushed onto the pitch and began attacking the Fenerbahçe players. Punches and kicks were aimed at the players, while one particularly psychotic supporter used a corner flag to try to hit retreating Fenerbahçe players.
This, after in December of 2023, a referee was punched by the president of MKE Ankaragücü following a match against Rizespor. Turkish football is going down a dark route once again.

    • The tragedy in Indonesia back in 2022 was considered the worst football disasters, with the number of casualties easily overwhelms the likes of Heysel and Hillsborough. It's very sad to see that hundreds of football fans (Arema FC) died because of crowd crush, which happened after the police fired the tear gas on the stadium's stands. Not to mention, the crowd control system during the public events with larger crowds was questioned at that time after another tragic event during the Halloween party at South Korea (I think).

  • As an Indonesian, you should rewind back to what happened in 2022. The East Java derby game between Arema and Persebaya resulted in a tragic football events that will never be forgotten. After Persebaya beat Arema 3-2 at Kanjuruhan Stadium, the home fans didn't accept their painful defeat against their big rivals and started to invade the pitch, while Persebaya and Arema football staffs were evacuated. What followed was a horrific scenes that changed the football a lot in our country. The police reacted violently by firing tear gas in the stands, creating a mass panic that resulted in one of the worst football disasters, with the number of deaths really overwhelms the Heysel and Hillsborough. The tragic event really shocked the entire world that FIFA had almost banned Indonesia (PSSI) for competing in the world stage, just like in 2015, when we were disqualified for some kind of intervention with the government. Thankfully, with the new leadership of Erick Thohir, our football is growing up, with the national team playing better in the most recent's Asian Cup and had won the gold medal of SEA Games the last year.

    • @@izuffymidoriya641 I watched bith games live. The game in Kadikoy was no where close to the game in Trabzon. First of all there where no provocative statements from the Trabzonspor staff members. Also there was no player (like Mert Hakan Yandas) who was continuesly provocing the Fenerbahce fans from the sideline. Also Trabzonspor did not provoce the Fenerbahce fans after the last wistle! Look, i dont talk right what is wrong. What has happened in Trabzon should not have happened. But you, as a Fenerbahce fan, are only focused on what is wrong from your (Fenerbahce’s) point of view! You dont see the damage Fenerbahce is causing because they cant become champions. Im a Galatasaray fan and i would not be hurt if Fenerbahce becomes champions… but then again you must become champions… by playing football! Not because you (as fan) or your staff (Ali Koc/Ugur Dundar) can shout the hardest! Your Fenerbahce had many games given into their hands by discutable decisons. At least a handfull games has been won by Fenerbahce because of non excisting penalties, or penalties not given to the opponents. But even then im fair enough to say that Fenerbahce would eventually won those games. But you (Fenerbahce) are at this moment behind because you couldnt win easy games at home (and this will probably cost Fenerbahce the championship this year). Your team is damaging Turkish football by becomming something what you are not! You try to be unfair, you try to derail Turkish football by shouting redicilous stuff (like we are forfeiting from the league) and stating that Galatasaray is a national problem! You need to figure out why Fenerbahce is the most hated club in Turkiye! You cant pay people to hate someone, there is a cause why Fenerbahce is hated by almost everyone who does not support that club! But instead of working towards these bottlenecks your Fenerbahce preferes to shout and take any and every wrong decision thats possible!

  • My family used to work with Fenerbahçe when the chairman in question was in charge (in fact, we still handle his personal travels and whatnot). The whole thing was a massive fiasco, where at the end of the day, there wasn't a definitive verdict because the entire thing devolved into a political scandal involving the prosecutor who had brought the case against the club being part of Gülen's movement, and said movement being exposed for corrupting the judicial system for revenge suits. To cut a long story somewhat short, islamist movements in Turkey have historically been repressed by the military in the country, and once Erdoğan took power, the Gülen movement, which had backed him financially and in terms of developing the tactics that allowed his party to gain popular support to win the election, cut a deal in which judicial appointments made were from lawyers from the Gülen movement (just like how it works in the US with Republican and Democratic nominees). This paved the way for lawsuits, both with ones that had merit and ones that were bogus to be brought against army officers in order to root out hard-line secularists and old political enemies from the army. Where this comes into play with regards to Fenerbahçe is that the former chairman, Aziz Yıldırım, owns And operates a business that handles NATO infrastructure in Turkey and abroad, meaning he has close ties to the military, which made many in the Gülen movement want to get rid of him because he occupied a position, as chairman of the club, that held massive social power. So, yeah, plenty of shady politics, and I still don't know whether any match fixing actually happened, even though I'm personally inclined to believe that there hasn't been, as Yıldırım has denied it both in private and in person as far as my knowledge goes 🤷 Oh, and yeah, Fenerbahçe's stadium is absolute prime real estate, and if you know how financial corruption works in Turkey, you can probably tell that the government was also very keen on having someone who'd be willing to sell the grounds as chairman 👌

    @lennard9331@lennard9331Ай бұрын
    • It has never been only football… The Gülen movement has some problems with Fenerbahce since Fenerbahce fans were the first movement in Turkey who stood up against Gülen movement, together with their arrested president Aziz Yildirim. Yildirim also warned the government and media publicly, that this now is only a match fix in scandal, but will result in much more bigger things. Later on there was this coup attempt by Gülenists, so Yildirim was right. Besides that Fenerbahces president nowadays is Ali Koc, member of the Family Koc and chairman of turkeys biggest family holding. He clearly has some problems with the current government since his family were also linked to some military equipment stuff. In 2013, when there was the famous gezi park protests in Istanbul, leading to violence between police and protestors, Ali Koc opened his Hotel on Taksim Square Istanbul for wounded protestors. That’s were everything began, in the eyes of some government officials. Ali Koc since then is some kind of persona non grata standing symbolically for the opposition against current Erdogan regime. You can see that also when you look at the canceled super cup finals in Riad, Saudi Arabia. The decision for not playing the game could have almost result in a diplomatic crisis between Turkey and KSA. Even though not playing the game was decided by both Galatasaray and fenerbahce, government related media and journalists like Abdulkadir Selvi tried to hold only Ali Koc, president of fenerbahce, accountable for that crisis. No one talked about Galatasaray and their president Dursun Özbek, who also took part in the decision, but has strong ties to the AKP government. This again shows that there is some kind of tensions between Fenerbahce/Ali Koc and some parts of the government. So it’s really not about football. It’s purely about politics.

    • @Arigatoopolitico Gulen never supported galatasaray or any other team. He utilized every trick in the book to get what he wants, he used players, managers, politicians, government officials.. he built a system which educated poor kids, got them to all kinds of positions in the government and business. From military to police, justice system to football they were everywhere and were nonstop growing. He explains himself how he realized the power of football in turkey, seeing fenerbahce fans waiting 5 am in the morning at the stadium for the tickets as he got out of a mosque after morning prayer. He thought if he got such football teams in the palm of his hand, it would be a great weapon so he used one method for Galatasaray, another for Fenerbahce and probably for others aswell. In Fenerbahce's case it was Aziz Yildirim himself who got them into the club, planning to use them to get stuff done when he needed. In the end these people were throwing whoever they wanted in prison and keeping whoever they wanted safe.. They were at the core of the justice system and they could fix anything. You could even fix matches and get away with it. But they were interested in using, benefiting from fenerbahce, just like Aziz was planning to benefit from them. Interests were in conflict and things kicked off. After all, they collected a bunch of real evidence, in an illegal way. It became political, and they "cleared the names of fenerbahce officials" not by defeating the evidence but by disqualifying it.

  • Pierluigi Colina used to make extensive analysis before each match, looking at player behaviours, strategies regarding time wasting or errors to stop counterattacks, which players were most likely to commit sneaky fouls to injure players etc. but also the reaction of supporters. He was far more likely to stop a game if he knew the home club supporters had a history of behaving badly (throwing cups, bottles, etc.). This is one of the reasons why he had a reputation of being fair and demand respect. So imho referees need to be objective and don't hold grudges, it is logical to keep a closer leach and a closer look depending on the situation.

He should have stopped the match for a warning when cups were thrown on the pitch and called the game off when flares were on the pitch. I understand and enjoy when fans are passionate in supporting their club but you're only damaging your own players and club by this behaviour. Referees in Europe are so weak, they end up fueling bad feelings in the stands. Was at a match at the weekend and the ref didn't give a card for one foul and then booked one of the subs for standing in the technical area. They only lose the respect of everyone by these stupid actions. If the standard of referees was better, everyone would not feel angry and be calmer and enjoy matches more.

The only thing I can say from my opinion is that it is mire our FA'S problem if we or some other clubs seriously threatens to leave for another league! 4 incidents in the Süper Lig only this season. The worst of all is that supporters and the Turkish clubs don't even trust the Turkish FA anymore because its board is literally only consisting of clowns! That's why I see this problem more as the FA'S problem right now and therefore no longer have the ability to react to new incidents during the season... So if the "withdrawal from the Süper Lig" thing is serious... The consequences of it will be unprecedented with some severe domino effects! It's sad that we reached a low point like this. Sure, our FA board may be the greatest joke of all time. But at least some things were starting to go on the direction again... Like the performance of the Turkish clubs in Europe since 2022, which lifted us up from the 20th spot to the 9th spot in the coefficient rankings in only 16 months... And now this happens after 3 other incidents in December :-(.

Will be extremely costly for U guys, which will make U guys probably cry after us to come back, considering how everyones financial meltdown would accelerate 🤪. Therefore, it's more likely that a PL-Style break away league gets created by Fenerbahçe, Galatasaray, and Beşiktaş or the other not so likely scenario but still the 2nd most likely one... Fenerbahçe, Galatasaray and Beşiktaş apllies to join leagues such as Serie A or Ligue 1. Bayern Münich almost did that once. And yes, it's not the 1st time threats like this are made by club chairman's from us and even you guys. But if we happen to be serious about it... • Fenerbahçe faced significant challenges when allegations of match-fixing surfaced, leading to judicial actions that were controversial. The situation was exacerbated when a judge involved in penalising Fenerbahçe later fled Turkey and was charged with terrorism-related offences, was allegedly connected to Fethullah Gülen, a figure wanted by Turkish authorities and living in the USA, raising questions about the motivations behind the allegations and the fairness of the judicial process. These events occurred in a highly politicised context, with claims that certain politicians, government agencies, and officials might have orchestrated the situation to target Fenerbahçe. The subsequent arrest and public humiliation of the club's president and players, with reports of them cleaning toilets in prison, attracted widespread criticism and raised concerns about the proportionality and motive behind the punishments. During this period, under Zico's management, Fenerbahçe achieved significant success, including reaching the quarter-finals of the Champions League. In the aftermath, Fenerbahçe struggled to rebuild its team, facing ongoing challenges, including what some perceived as unfair treatment by football authorities and officials. For instance, the club went a significant period of a year and a half without being awarded a penalty, and a crucial final deciding match was delayed for over half an hour due to organised pitch invasions taking away the chance of winning the league. The shooting incident involving the team bus driver highlighted the serious security concerns for the club and its members. Such events contributed to a narrative that Fenerbahçe, which many see as representing the modern, secular values of Turkey as founded by Atatürk, is being targeted due to its independence and refusal to align with various power groups, including what is sometimes referred to as the deep state, or with organised crime. Despite all legal charges being dropped and the team being cleared of all wrongdoings, the team never received much-deserved compensation for the financial and reputational damage suffered. Contrary, the team has been under constant attack for over nine years. The pitch invasion and Trabzon FC supporters' attack on players during and after the game are just a tiny part of the iceberg. We, the Fenerbahce supporters and the club, do not bend down for the mafia or domestic or foreign terrorists. We want what we deserve, not trophies handed to us by the mafia. Hence, we are under attack. Hope this summarizes what we are going through.

And in the match Queretaro fans started attacking fans, men, women and children. After that people escaped to the pitch, where the chaos continued. Its rumored people died but the government hid it, today we dont know if its true. We only know that there werent enough cops in the stadium (who gave a blind eye at the begining of the situation and that the private security that was employed was a complete joke, with the only requisite to work with them was an ID.

In 96 we beat them away in a decisive match and 2 of their fans commited s..de. in 2005 we competed again we won again and one of their best ever squads dissolwed afterwards. With that kind of an history i can understand them hating us. This is football, passion is part of the game but you can not assault players. and this is not the first time it's not even the 41st time. Something radical has to be done about trabzonspor holiganism asap.

    • Söylediğin doğru değil. Trabzon lige çıktığında teröre başladı. Yani Trabzonla ilgili sorun Trabzonun kurulup lige çıkmasıyla başlayan bir süreç

  • The error which shows your lack of understanding of traditional rivalry is that you DO NOT ever celebrate a victory in the centre circle at the ground of your opponent. It's sacred ground and 100% they knew what they were doing. Brought it on themselves. Osayi-Samuel lucky to make it to the tunnel tbf. He gets taken down, he is trapped and dies.

    • Yanılıyorsun. Deplasman takımı orta çemberde toplanıp içeri girer. Çünkü genelde içeride tuzak kurup, yalnız futbolculara saldırıyorlar. Ayrıca dikkat ettiysen sahada polis yok. Normalde yüzlerce polis olur. Linç planlanmış ve polis getirilmemiş

  • It is very dicey in turkey i know they sometimes just stop paying players and basically cancelling their contract

  • It needs to stop just make up a flyer/leaflet telling fans that if they throw anything at the pitch then they along with the people either side of them and the person directly behindthem with the 2 either side of em will b banned. Including the other 5 people will help with self policing, they are not going to let a stranger get em kicked out of the stadium, or something along those lines

  • Osayi did not punished for punching the fan who immobilized on ground. This is Turkish justice! They were not punished, too, in 2011 match-fixing scandal. And then they say WHY DOES TRABZONSPOR FANS SO ANGRY?

  • Although all the reasons mentioned in the video do get talked about as reasons in Turkish media a few more recent things happened to fuel this situation and as a fan of the superlig since 1998 i truly think recent events caused this rather than decade old reasons; -A week before the Trabzonspor - Fenerbahce game Fenerbahce was playing against a Istanbul club called Pendik, during this game Fenerbahce's Mert Hakan Yandas disrespected Pendikspors coach Ibrahim Uzulmez during his goal celebration, after the game Pendikspor coach Ibrahim Uzulmez said at his press confrence 'Let's see if Mert is man enough to do such things in Trabzon' -After hearing these comments Fenerbahces Mert Hakan Yandas made a statement on the lines of 'I'll do whatever I want wherever I like' Trabzon fans felt taunted because of this. -Also Fenerbahce board member Baki did a interview after the Pendikspor game where he critisized the referee for not taking Fenerbahces side enough in 50/50 decisions, this was seen by Trabzonspor fans as putting pressure on the ref against them in the following week.

  • Trabzon fans have been notoriously violent whenever they lost to Fenerbahçe before 2011 as well. The reason they've not been commiting this barbarity is that they haven't been losing in their home turf against Fenerbahçe for a long time now

  • bro the 2010-2011 championship was the most difficult one fenerbajce won every derby, against besiktas, galatasaray and trabzonspor. Was these matches also match fixing?😂. They wanted to hurt fenerbahce vecause at the tome we were ahead of all of them, sportwise and financial. But they couldnt get what tehy targeted, to destroy fenerbahce. 💙💛
