Who all is ready for Ice Adolecence? After 4 years, an official trailer has come, I hope it comes soon Edit: RIP Ice Adolescence 😭😭 To be honest, I think it was due to political issues. There was a rumor a few years ago that the real life Russian skater Victor is inspired/based on was charged with SA so that’s why it initially had the first delay. And then the war started. It may just be me speculating, I just think that it may not be just because they don’t want to finish an almost complete movie. I think it might be more. Of course, this is all opinion! Maybe one day we will finally get the movie or a season, I just don’t think so for now

Yandere- Chan it isn’t a reference to his normal skating, but rather to this one time he skated after he had a collision on ice with another skater and ended up skating (and medaling, pretty sure he won, but I’m not 100% sure.) with a concussion. He for sure gives us fans grey hairs. But we love him no matter what. 😊

Idk if anyone has seen the tumblr post on this, but it's even more emotional when you realize that this program tells of his struggles and how victor came to help him (and about the love involved). And the quadruple flip was Victor's signature move. So his love story ends with victor. And I think that's the moment victor truly realized that yuuri loved him ❤

I’d like to think that the first half of the song was actually when Yuuri struggled in his career and experiencing lots of ups and downs (thus the increasing tempo of the music) and then when he hit rock bottom (losing and humiliating himself in last year’s tournament), the music become slow and soft again hinting that he’s at his lowest. But then the music gradually increasing in tempo again in the second half, and that is when Victor came into his life, coaching him and giving him support 🥺🥺🥺
I believe the reason Victor was so surprised because of his jump was due to this (not the jump itself, but the meaning behind it!)

@@deodate2995 Oh yeah actually it was confirmed by the creator that it wasn’t because of censorship laws, it was because of how Victor was keeping Yuri’s head from slamming into the ice at the most natural angle. She said it was because any other way didn’t look natural and wouldn’t actually work when trying to keeping his head from being harmed by the ice. If I’m not mistaken, it was on her Twitter, though I don’t have the link, sorry.

Here we see Yuri's entire love confession. The skating sequence is meant to symbolize the ups and downs of his career and life with a commentator narrating his every move (reflecting how the world sees him) . As he picks himself up from the ice (rock bottom) the music picks up its pace, the beat sounding very close to a heart beating fast, maybe a heart falling in love. Then, Yuri did the quadruple flip: a signature move that has been embedded into his mind - the image of Victor. As the music dies down we see Yuri with his hand outstretched to the side: Victor's outstretched hand as he entered Yuri's life.

I can’t express my love for this episode and anime in general. I tear up everytime I watch this, the background music, the emotion and intensity rises and I end up screaming at the kiss as per usual.

i love this scene with my whole heart and i think its executed perfectly but something that has always baffled me is the incredibly quiet reaction from the public. like yeah you see people in the audience gasp and all but other than that it just goes unmentioned and apparently homophobia doesnt exist in this universe so obv i dont mean that but logically there would be some "YOOOO WHAT THE FUCK JUST HAPPENED" reactions from the announcers or like a phone call from yuuri's relatives to say 'Hey Are You And Your LifeLong Celebrity Crush Dating? and is your head ok?' im rambling haha

Even without homophobia it's pretty weird that no one commented on their being a couple, the kiss alone should've caused a huge scandal already because of Victor himself
Think of it from the creator's perspective. Are they telling a story of love, or a story of gay representation and its hardships? In a narrative sense, depictions of homophobia are conflict. You cannot introduce conflicts that you aren't going to address into your story without alienating your audience. And for one as heavy as homophobia, it would be disrespectful to the people who experience it to not spend a significant amount of time addressing and resolving the issue. Since it's unlikely the creators could find a neat solution to make an audience which reacted disrespectfully see the error of their ways, they'd need to focus on the more manageable elements of their story: the protagonists. If they'd kissed and the audience freaked out, I imagine it would sully that moment, and the creators would have it impact the characters in a way which sets up the next leg of conflict and resolution within the story.
this part is my favourite, the way yuri skates here without over thinking it and finally finding his "ai" makes me cry every time

I was at an all time low when Yuri on ice had come out. My dad was in the hospital on the verge of death, I had a really hard time making friends at school, and I was really struggling with myself as a person. I forgot how I discovered the show, but I started the show around december when my dad was discharged from the hospital. I was absolutely blown away. Each and every episode from the plot to the music really lifted me out from that dark time I was going through. I'm not as involved in the fandom as I once was, but every Christmas I watch Yuri on ice and remember how this anime saved me and gave me hope that everything would be alright in the end.
I used to think it was just a hug but I see it now💀🤣

The first time I watched this I literally screeched. Not because of the kiss, but it felt like Yuri was doing it for himself, he picked himself up. And the condidwnce was crazy given how he didn't have a lock bwfore. The fact that he has that much stamina and it was mentioned too, Victor's face after he lands the last jump is just priceless. I will never get tired of this performance.
here i am 7 years later, and i still cry with this scene. Oh man, I wish i could go back in time to my 16 yeard old self and experience this beautiful anime for the first time all over again. to this day, there has not been another one that could make me feel the euphoria that i felt watching this for the first time

it's been 5 years and watching this entire scene still makes me so emotional. Maybe the "power of love" theme seems cliche or overdone to some, but to me, seeing an anxiety-ridden character like Yuuri become stronger thanks to the love from Victor and his family/friends is such an important narrative. I'm really looking forward to the movie, I miss them ❤😭
I got into figure skating thanks to watching Yuri on Ice a few years ago, and now coming back to the series after having almost forgotten about it, knowing so much more about figure skating and everything around it, makes me feel so grateful and happy, and brings such a deeper level of understanding and appreciation to the series for having done such a fantastic job! Thanks Yuri on Ice for so much!

For me I think Victor knew a quad flip was coming. For a move like that there would have to be a build up of speed and momentum, which is generally gained through a step sequence. The look in Victor's eyes I feel, is a moment of realisation and awe.

I thoroughly enjoyed Yuri On Ice. Yuri's Skating routines gave me heart palpitations, I was so entangled and invested in his performance. The Manga Artist, Animators and their teams did an excellent job bringing this masterpiece to life.
Am I the only one who didn’t come to this (again-) for the kiss scene and for the actual skate??? Because I honestly love the song and haven’t watched the skate in a while so I really wanted to watch it because it’s an actual masterpiece!

Memories of how this scene shook the entire anime community. Sports anime with pretty guys have been infamous for such fruity interactions, teasing you with a relationship but never making it happen, then this happened. And considering this anime made it into the mainstream crowd and could feature a gay couple, even better. Honestly after all this time, this anime never really holds up as all that good to me but goddamn I'll never forget this legendary scene.
